My favorite part about this park is the southern live oak here. The trees here are big and grow crazy looking. I also like how big the space is at this park. There is a kids play area and a gazebo here. It is a really nice green space for the neighborhood. I have brought some out of town friends who never seen southern live oak, it is great place to show them what southern nature could look like. read more

It's a neighborhood park that sits in Midtown, right in the middle of the cutest brick and stucco houses. It's not a big park, which gives it so much character with the big trees. I didn't see a parking lot, and I must say, in the end, I was happy there wasn't a parking lot, or I didn't see one. But I was happy because it allowed me to see how charming this neighborhood was, and there were sidewalks. The trees display a life of their own, and that's in the park and neighborhood; the branches were shaped in all kinds of ways, with moss hanging low. Even the sidewalks had character; they were high, low, and some cracked, not from wear or tear; it's how it settled. Some houses were tall and stately, some looked to have that container look, and some were townhouses with alleys out back. And getting back to the park, a zigzag trail runs through the park, which is nice; there's a grassy area to sit and a children's area. I don't know what organization hosted the Mistletoe, but the location was great, and the event was wonderful! Santa was there taking pictures with families and furbabies. A wonderful band played, the decorations were pretty, and the vendors brought the holiday cheer! read more

This is a free, 4.88 acre, park located in the heart of Midtown. It's a small one, but the trees here are worthy of a visit. The old oak trees have branches growing on the ground providing 1) a lot of shade cover making this park ok to visit on a hot summer Houston day 2) a cool photo and 3) the perfect tree climbing opportunity. Enjoy a small playground for the kids, and benches/picnic tables for a seat outdoors. Total time spent here for us was about ~30 minutes. The park isn't too large and there's only a small paved trail that takes you throughout the park. As for parking - there are only a few (~5 spots) available in the parking lot, but the park is located in a neighborhood and street parking is available. read more

It had rained, it was wet, hard to stay clean. My little people and I loved it. The trees and puddles called our names. Yesterday, May 10, 2017, I visited with a girlfriend. The plan was to sit and enjoy the day. It was a splendid breezy day; I could hear the branches calling me again to play. No way I could just sit and park it, much less let her do it either. We spent our late morning in the trees. Laughing from our fear of falling. It's a great date spot. Not a lot of people here, isolate, perfect for public affection. I mean you could come relax, read, play chess, or checkers too. What ever creams your Twinkie. What ever tickles your pickle. Different strokes for different folks. You get that urban and relaxed feel just across the way from the fast pace of Downtown Houston. Great playground. My kids enjoyed it back in the day when it wasn't so fancy, fun for all the little ones, and young at heart. I read a review that stated there is no restroom, it's not for "outsiders", great observation. That maybe so. They could even build a fence, but good thing I can climb. Latina heritage and all. Looking for a place to jog/walk in midtown? Scared of cars or worst bums? Well this is the place to go. This park has been renovated recently in 2006 and now offers a jogging trail of about .3 miles. I know this isn't the distance that I usually run but I was asked to find a path that was about a quarter of a mile; something similiar to a middle school trail, so my search began. I had driven by here plenty of times not only to the 24 hour fitness in midtown but many nights on my way out. I finally stopped and decided to check it out. If you are in the area and don't like running long distances, this is a good alternative to running on the treadmill. read more

Redone playground looks great. The rare park in the downtown/midtown area offers a nice track. The mileage marker claims that one lap is .25 miles but you will be pleasantly surprised that you have actually run a little over .3 miles once you complete a lap! The park is usually filled with walkers, runners, children and dogwalkers. I like to run here because there is plenty of action going on so I am distracted from the fact that I am actually running. read more

This park is perfect it is only a few blocks from my house and it is puppy friendly. Me & my little poodle Maddie hit up the park for a little exercise and to meet the other pups out there. I don't recommend visiting the park at night though because the homeless do sleep out there & it is also very dimly lit. But if you are looking for a nice little park in the midtown neighborhood then you need to check out Elizabeth Baldwin Park!!!! read more

I don't know why people are saying nasty things about this park. I let my dog run there every day. There are bags to pick up poop. Over all it's very clean. The homeless don't bother me at all. I wish there was more light at night. Otherwise, it's good. read more

Beautiful little park in Midtown. Really spectacular spreading live oaks, artistically lit at night. Running track, fancy playground, picnic tables, gazebo, and grills. Great for dogs, families, and romantic couples. I don't think there is any problem at night, maybe the occasional vagrant, but you get that anywhere. Overall it is an adornment to the neighborhood and I hope you stop by and enjoy it. read more

Love this park! You can bring dogs here. There are plastic bag dispensers everywhere to scoop poop so it's great for dog owners. There are pull-ups bars and parallel bars for people like me who love to work out. There are beautiful trees that are big and old that provide great amounts of shade on sunny days. I've been coming here my whole life. I love all the changes that have been made to this park over the years to make it friendlier to the neighborhood and making this place safer. My dog loves coming here to play with other dogs, chase squirrels or find sticks on the floor. Every now and then you find food on the floor that careless people or homeless people leave so be careful if your dog starts sniffing at an area for too long! But over all I love the changes that have been made to this park over the passed 20 plus years. read more

Pretty park but don't venture out here late night. It's a bum sanctuary after the sun sets. I live adjacent to Baldwin and can't help but walk through here every once in a while. It's a great dog park though early morning and throughout the day. Like all dog parks in Texas though.... wear your beater shoes. Kids, dog and all are happy we found this park. It is within walking distance of my new pad, very clean, plenty of seating, good playground for the kids, fabulous trees for climbing - siting and admiring. This park is beautiful! You can't beat gorgeous live oak trees combined with a glimpse of the Houston skyline. It has a neighborhood feel in the heart of the city! The occasional homeless person hanging around the picnic tables can put a damper on your party, picnic, or day at the park. Other that that, the park can be a great place to spend an afternoon with your pups or kiddos. This is the neighborhood park. It's decent. I notice that the trash is overflowing a lot of the time. It's become somewhat of a dog meet up for the area which is nice to see neighbors coming together and hanging out with their dogs. I would not feel safe walking around the park at night, I wish there was better lighting for the evening. When it rains, the park is quick to take on water. One huge plus is that b cycle bikes were recently installed. read more

I like this little park but you really cant do much. Sometimes on the weekend I see I group of LARPERS and it is entertaining to watch because I just dont get it but they are full of enthusiasm. It is conveniently located to where I live so sometimes when i want to stretch my legs I come here. It is near a major street so I dont know that I would recommend bringing children here. But for adults that want to walk a bit and enjoy the neighborhood, this is a good spot. read more

The extensive renovation of the city of Houston's Elizabeth Baldwin Park is complete. The Midtown Redevelopment Authority spearheaded the renovation to serve an increasing population in the Midtown community. The following upgrades include $400K of additional lighting - both up lighting in trees and ground lighting. An enhanced walking path, a new workout area for adults, new toddler play equipment and a redesign of the playground. The Midtown Management District paid for the new playground equipment for kids ages 5-12 years of age. Enjoy the park! Not a big park (5 acres), but fine for the neighborhood. Relatively nice and clean, and nice for a walk. I especially like the mature trees with trunks parallel to the ground, and various places to sit down along the walkway. There is diversity in people around, and many have a friendly demeanor. However, I have an issue with too many dogs. While most folks are conscientious and keep their dogs on a short leash, others are not so considerate. I do frequently run into dog owners on the walkway with their dogs, while they are busy conferencing with each other dogs/dog owners. The side effect is that folks with small kids, strollers, toddlers etc. need to go off the walkway, or stay away altogether. This does become quite aggravating in a small park. I'd still visit the park when in the area, but probably not drive to it while further away. read more

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. It's a very quiet park in a more residential area of midtown. The park itself is surrounded by town homes on all sides. There is one section with benches (for seating) that is surrounded by trees and shrubs which is where the shade for those benches come from. There is also a small gazebo to the side that you could rest your feet in. It's got a small playground with swing set (2 belt swings only) and play equipment in one section. The play equipment consists of a climbing net, a small clubhouse (on the far end) and one slide in addition to the 2 belt swings. It is geared more towards older children (5 years+). There is a work out area in another section close to where the parking is that has basic metal gym equipment. Speaking of parking, it's very limited (and not as easy for an outside to find their way in either). I gather that most of the parks visitors live nearby (across the street on all sides) and just walk over. It's a nice place to walk but really not that large. It's basically just a block that was turned into a small park for nearby residents to enjoy. There are no restrooms here indicating to me that it really is more so for the people that live in these town homes surrounding the park than it is for "outsiders". read more

We planned a trip to the zoo but after trying to park for an hour with no luck we left. I drive a while and found this neat little park. The trees were amazing big, old and healthy. Then there is a play area with a unique set of play sets. Lots of shade, picnic tables, and places to sit. Very pretty but... No bathrooms so take care of that before you go. read more
