It pains me to write this review because I want to keep this a hidden gem so badly! This has been my favorite park for two years now. It's a great place for family or a picnic date. The area is super safe, right next to an HEB and plenty of apartments. Really open concept so it's great to let your dogs or children run loose without losing sight of them. This park truly is wonderful! I recommend going at sunset, the view makes the trip worth it.

So convenient that there is a parking lot at this park. It made setting up for our picnic really easy. The park was a good size with a couple trees to sit under and an open field area, plus a basketball court. We saw several work out groups and I'll more than likely chose the same spot for future outdoor gatherings.

Beware of the burglars who frequent Spotts Park!

YOU WILL GET YOUR CAR BURGLARIZED AT SPOTTS PARK. Seriously. My son loves playing ball at the basketball court at Spotts, so we come here once in a while. Over the last few years, I've seen at least half a dozen cars broken into. I though I was too smart to let that happen to me as I always took precautions. Well low and behold, if someone wants to steal your stuff, they will steal your stuff. Had my car broken into in March. Not much I could do about it. You'll call the police and they'll take your report by phone. The end. I parked my car literally 30 feet from a super busy playground. Either people don't want to get involved or this thief had the gentlest touch ever, because apparently no one saw anything. I wish I had had enough sense to stop going to Spotts after witnessing a few cars getting broken into. Thankfully all these a-holes got was a bag full of my son's dirty clothes.

Soccer bubble fun but look at that view!

Dropped by Spotts Park on Saturday for a BBQ/Bubble Soccer birthday... The park itself is a bit hard to find (thanks google maps!) and much harder to park! I drove around for like 10 minutes and stalked people leaving, (yup similar to what I do at the Galleria during the holidays. Lol!) until I found a spot across the street. The parks actual "parking lot" consists of maybe 20 legitimate parking spots (that I saw) so consider yourself lucky if you find one, but other than that, street parking is available. I read several comments about people breaking into cars; I didn't witness a break in but I did see glass on the floor on the street adjacent to the park so I made sure to hide all my sh*t in the trunk. On the bright side, this park is phenomenal! I loved how it's it was so open, the lay out and all the different areas it has. It has a basketball court, volleyball sandbox, walking/running trails, and ample space to run around. We bbq'd, broke a piñata (hung it on one of the trees) and played soccer bubble. The park sits into the ground (not sure how to explain this lol ) so you can even roll down the hill! Yeap, I rolled down the hill, and the best part is, I literally rolled down inside of one of those soccer bubble thing-a-ma-jiggers. Yes, I had a blast! I absolutely loved the city views, specially when the sun started to set. I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the park!

The neighborhood 16.24 acre playground. I live in walking distance from the park. It is a nice area away from the concrete jungle and pollution that is Houston. I probably go here about once a week to play basketball on their outdoor / covered / lit basketball court. There are usually two half court games of 4 v 4. Most people are too lazy (or perhaps out of shape?) to play full court. There are running trails, 2 sand volleyball courts, a jungle gym, benches for picnics and of course open fields/trees. Many times you can see people training or exercising by running up and down the hills because it is VERY tiring. There are also steps and tennis courts up on top. edit: Because this park is in the developing Heights area, I would not leave anything valuable out in the open or in cars. My friend's car was broken into and her purse stolen.

I love this park.I saw a lot of blue bonnets around this park.I visited there. Every year, we can see some bluebonnets around the park along Allen parkway. I played tennis and volleyball. This was a great park to play sports. I had a BBQ party.I had a lot of great memories. Only issue is parking. The parking space is limited in the park.

This…read moreplace is a complete disaster, hiding behind a nice location and slick marketing while delivering some of the worst customer service and member experience you'll find in the city. The communication is abysmal, particularly from Sarah and Alicia, who are repeatedly unresponsive and unhelpful. Emails go ignored, questions are dodged, and if you do finally get a reply, it's vague and often inaccurate. They don't follow up, they don't follow through, and unless you ask five or six times, you will not get any clear answers or confirmations. You are constantly left chasing them down just to get the most basic information. To make matters worse, they will charge you whatever they want, whenever they want, without warning, explanation, or approval. You won't be notified of fees or changes unless you hunt them down to ask. If you're offered a credit, promo, or adjustment, take a screenshot and save every email, because they certainly won't help you figure anything out after the fact. Once you've signed up, you're on your own. Bijan is somewhat more communicative, but not enough to make up for the chaos. There's clearly no leadership or accountability here -- it feels like a group project where no one knows what their role is, and no one really cares. Facility-wise, it's barely above average. Courts are often overbooked, the gym space is mediocre, and amenities are inconsistently maintained. You're paying premium rates for a second-rate experience across the board. Bottom line: The Downtown Met is a textbook case of mismanagement and indifference. For a place that calls itself a "premier fitness and tennis club," it operates more like a poorly run pop-up gym with no structure or respect for its members. Look elsewhere, literally anywhere else would be a better use of your time and money.

There is also a large grassy area for toddlers to run around (ours loves to run on the grass). Lots of beautiful live oaks. Had no issue finding parking on the adjacent street. The only things missing were the tall slide, merry-go-rounds, and a jungle gym. However, the old (and now, kitschy), well made and maintained pieces make this one of my favorite parks in Houston. Also, its a piece of old Houston; it was established in 1926. This Rice University area park has a neighborhood organization that takes excellent care of the area. To the tune of $10,000 per year. As well they should, it's one of the last bastions of built-to-last playgrounds. Steel and wood and charm, no plastic. Who doesn't remember climbing on the pumpkin stagecoach at Pumpkin Park? Fleming Park is meant to be charming and unforgettable. If playground equipment isn't your thing, there are plenty of picnic tables, oak trees, and general relaxation areas. A perfect pocket picnic park. There's also a couple of tennis courts, two B-ball hoops, and a baseball diamond. There is no sign for the park, only a list of park rules and a community board. If you're uncertain that you are at the correct park, look for a 15' Totem Pole Bird House that was erected in 1991 by Fletcher Mackey. It is constructed of Cypress and Cedar Wood, ceramic, copper, and painted steel. One item of sadness, some idiot(s) stole the lamb spring ride back in January. There are signs on the community board with a photo and plea for its return. Rather, I should say "her." She was named "Mary the Lamb." Again, she's very, very cute, has a snow white fleece, and a giant metal spring attached to her underside.
