This is your average neighborhood park. It consists of tennis courts, playground equipment, a pool, and a sand volleyball court. The tennis courts were occupied the time I stopped by so I get they get good usage from the community. As far as the sand volleyball court, it didn't seem like they were maintaining it too well. I wouldn't going out of my way to check this place out.

Plus, it doesn't cut through any roads (so no stopping at traffic lights or fear of getting hit by a car) AND bikes are not allowed!! This makes it the perfect place for runners to get lost in their thoughts while getting 3 miles in - at least, that's what I like to do. Haha! Recently, they did a bunch of restoration work and have opened up a cute little pond area along with more trails to explore. These are great for walking and getting to enjoy nature without having to leave the city. Additionally, they've added a LOT more parking which is nice, however it's not free. Even the old lot that I always used to park at (the parking lot located in front of the outdoor pool) now requires you to pay. To avoid this, you can park at the lot next to the baseball fields (what I usually do), but it's almost always full. You can also park at the church behind the fields, just as long as they're not having a service at that time. The tennis courts also have some parking, but that's also usually full. If you're brave enough, you can try to parallel park on some of the streets that go through the park.... But I find that to be pretty risky with all the constant movement occurring everywhere. If you're looking to enjoy some nature without having to drive super far, definitely consider coming out here! Bring some friends, a picnic or go for a walk/run. There's something for everyone here!

Hard, hard work: 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats, 10k run. Every SINGLE DAY. When I became tired, I relied on the plentiful recreational equipment: table tennis tables, pool tables, basketball courts (indoors and outdoors), racquetball courts, and swimming pools. Inspired by Antonio Banderas, I also enrolled in LPAP dance classes and unleashed my sexy side. But I never stopped working out. NEVER. When my legs got tired, the Rec had hot showers and gym mats for stretching. Water fountains, vending machines, and even kombucha are readily available for recovery. In the summer months, the pools are a great reprieve. And as always, the equipment, towels, and facilities are squeaky clean. If you come to the Rec every day for four years, I guarantee you will see results. You may go bald. You may become a superhero. You might get your Nod bod. And you will certainly feel infinitely healthier than all the people couch potato-ing in their dorms.

I can attest that there are many heavy objects available for lifting in the weight room (but actually, really nice machines/barbells/dumbbells/two squat racks). Note- it's definitely the most busy here before mealtimes, and especially immediately before and after dinner. Try to come in the morning, early afternoon, or during mealtimes if you're like me and don't like people :)

There is parking for the gym when driving up the ramp that's close to the side of the plaza facing Cummins St. It can sometimes be a little tricky navigating the entry and exit to the plaza because of the Costco gas station, which tends to have long lines. I go to this location a couple of times a week and usually it's not overly crowded and you can access most of the equipment. I've noticed some of the treadmills were out of service, so if you go at peak hours you may have difficulty finding one working. The equipment seems ok but some machines are showing their age. However, the locker room has been clean each time and there are always open lockers to place your belongings. One curious thing is this location is listed as a signature club but I'm not sure what amenities are considered signature compared to a standard location. This one has a basketball court, a group workout room, and a small sauna but no pool. Overall, it's a good all around gym that doesn't feel pretentious and I have no major complaints.

Since I mapped it out beforehand, I knew where to park and how to get to the gym. This was a fairly large shopping area, but EQX was right there, and the desk is there in front once you enter. There was a really nice girl this day with long braids, and she directed me upstairs to the locker room and informed me that parking validation was not necessary at this time; the gate just went up as you pulled up to it. Perfect! After going upstairs, I did wander around and then a trainer directed me over to the locker room, which was spacious and very clean. The fitness floor is on the second, and as soon as I found the treadmills, I knew where I belonged. Light movement in the stretching area after, and then back to a shower with decent water pressure. What I was fascinated with was how friendly staff was. Trainers actually smiled and said goodbye which you won't normally see in California or New York. I certainly wasn't at home! Compared to other locations, this one was very low-key, although I admit I came during the afternoon where it was probably quieter. I had forgotten this is the location that I was in contact with back in 2020 when I had ordered some masks from their shop since they were actually open. I had such a good experience that the trip here to see them in person was worth it!
