Granted, you would probably be exhausted at the zoo unless you put a timer on like I do, so that we don't all have meltdowns, but I digress. But I am really happy to come across this play area. Was it weird walking up and down the rolling hills of the playground with a stroller? Absolutely. But would I do it again? Absolutely. I really love how they had a rubber ground for the patrons to walk on because I'm really sick of the wood chips. I'm not sure who started putting shards of wood under our children when they play, but I'm over it. We came here on one of the handful of nice weather days weekend down here in Houston. I'm not sure how hot the playground would be during the summer, because a lot of the material here is metal, but I would definitely check it out again!

So, someone at HQ needs to update the name to something other than Harris County. Anyhow, I come here to park my car and ride on the bike trail on the opposite end of Brays Bayou. It's the beginning of the trail system. But parking is scarce. I can only come here on my weekdays off. There's no way to exercise at this tiny park. It has a paved asphalt path of less than 100 feet long and 10 feet wide. It's like a long driveway. It has a gully at the end of this fenced pavement. It's fun to watch hundreds of birds playing on the bayou bed. No, you can't go down there to play with them. The major attractions of Stein Family Park are the giant play area surrounded by well-maintained grassy area. I talked to a maintenance guy. He said the entire play area is available for rent. Besides play sets, there are picnic tables, BBQ stands and fully functional restrooms. He told me he comes daily. I don't know the cost, but you can find it by calling the number on the sign.

They have four courts which exceeds anything I've seen in the city and greatly increases your chances of not having to wait. The courts are well maintained and each one is enclosed so you don't have to worry about going far to get your balls or disturbing other courts. There's plenty of parking right in front of the courts. And the park is open late. Really everything I'm looking for in a spot to play some tennis. If tennis isn't your thing, they also have a basketball court and walking trails. And there was even an ice cream truck making its way around the park the last time I was there.

Aside from LNY, the park hosts many events through out the year, so bookmark its website to keep up-to-date. There is parking very close by to the park itself, and many restaurants/bars to try out. Only restrooms available were portable so be prepared for that.

We actually won the first round and scored a $50 gift card to Barbacoa! They were also celebrating Día de Muertos, and with every bingo packet purchase, they gave out a rose crown headband. Such a lovely and festive touch. Definitely a souvenir ill cherish. Overall, this event was a 5/5 experience. Great atmosphere, great prizes, and great vibes. Can't wait for the next one!

Looks really nice during sunset. Open to public. Did not use any of the amenities other than a quick short walk around, but the crowd that came in looked happy to have a place to practice and perfect their skating skills.

So I definitely showed up a day early for a yoga event at Autry Park. Yes...a whole day early…read more But it actually worked out because I walked right into the Oyster and SeaFest. I did not buy a ticket, but the energy out there was really nice. Long line, lots of people, everybody just outside enjoying themselves. What I liked most is how the space is set up. It is clean, open, and really easy to walk around. There are plenty of places to sit, chill, and people watch, which I definitely took advantage of. It is one of those places where you do not really need a plan. You can just show up and figure it out once you get there. I did not even go for the event and still enjoyed myself, so that says a lot. I will definitely be back...next time on the correct day

The park itself is somewhat small but is surrounded by several dining and shopping attractions, as well as many new apartment buildings including Hanover Autry Park, Hanover Parkview, and Alta River Oaks. The space has become a popular spot for local farmer's markets, yoga sessions, food festivals, and more. And for good reason, too. There's several welcoming seating areas on the grassy lawn tucked under beautiful overarching trees. In the evening time, lantern lights, hung from these branches, switch on. The vibe is welcoming and relaxing, perfect for an evening stroll or to take a seat with a friend or date. Parking is available at the garage across the street, however it is not free. Local business validation is available to discount parking but be sure to check the parking rate signs when you pull in.
