Fantastic Food and atmosphere. I had the mussels and octopus cooked by Mom & Dad, the owners with their son serving. Delicious and tender. Big fat mussels in an out of this world sauce with crunchy garlic bread. It is so easy to mess up octopus. Not this dish. You can cut it with a fork! Seafood is the bomb at Elixir, but they have a really varied menu for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. My Wife said her taquitos were the best she ever had! Wonderful service! It was really still breakfast menu, but "don't worry we are not busy you can have the Seafood." Seriously? Thank you! And then it was in what seemed like 5 minutes, piping hot. Have been here a few times now - great service, delicious food - you need to try it. The mezcal old fashioned is a real treat. We have enjoyed the oysters, the fish and chips, the pollo a la crema and want to go back soon to try other dishes. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at this relatively new restaurant in Downtown Gresham (on Roberts St). They offer a nice selection of both classic and Latin breakfast items. We chose the pork belly hash and pork belly omelet and they were spot on in flavor and quantity. They only serve breakfast on the weekend, but we have enjoyed many of their lunch items during the week. The service is excellent and friendly. This place deserves a visit. read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again: elixir is UNMATCHED when it comes to great dining options in Gresham. Great drinks, great food, great service. We love the shrimp cocktail, fried oysters, fried chicken sandwich and shrimp linguini. The ancho margarita is top tier. Crème brûlée is our favorite, but our kids really love the flan cheesecake. Everything is so consistent and you can tell how much love goes into everything they put out. read more

I am a big fan of hidden gems. I also understand the struggle of newly opened restaurants and have a lot of patience as new restaurants work the kinks. This restaurant has been opened about a year from what I understand. Our experience was not five-star at all, but when we decided to go there were 49 five star reviews. It makes me wonder who they were from. Our server was new -- we can overlook that they don't know much about the menu and maybe you don't understand the bar or the food that well yet. However, I can't overlook that the "house" margarita was not very good - and actually tasted like it was mixed incorrectly. For the record we got two of them so they were both bad. I also have a lot of tolerance for cocktails and quality. However, not only did the server not adequately understand how to describe this cocktail -- but it appears that the bartender that made the house margarita, doesn't know the cocktail either. A little disappointing. We were at a Mexican themed restaurant and had to go somewhere else afterward for margaritas. We ordered the oyster shooters, the chicken, tostada, and the pulled pork tacos. I can only describe the oyster shooters as odd. I'm pretty sure I tasted Worcestershire and soda water in the shot. The flavor profiles did not fit oyster unfortunately and they were presented a bit too warm which felt a bit unsafe. The chicken tostada was delicious. The marinade used for the shredded chicken was lovely and I recommend this dish. The pulled pork sliders were fine but unremarkable to be honest. Again, not five star mind you. I think it's really important for a new restaurant to make sure that they have their bar menu, and especially their house cocktail on lock. For this latin restaurant there should be basic things that you expect included. For instance, the chips and salsa had a cost and the chips were over cooked and too thick. As far as ambience goes - it was very cute in there, but I could not miss the fact that there was one employee that was the competent one and two employees, including our server, who were being instructed, as if it were their first day. I'd love to see this restaurant improve its service and bartending skills. I think the oyster shooters need to be rethought. I think that they could benefit from some à la cart tacos and other items that are not available currently. I will watch how this restaurant develops and will be sure to visit again if they adjust some things. read more

This place is a gem. Had fantastic cocktails and an epic Shrimp ceviche cocktail. Owner is so nice and knowledgeable about food and Mexican liquor and just lovely and gracious. Wow! Just Wow! This restaurant was profiled recently in The Gresham Outlook. The owners are a father and son team who worked at Ringside (Glendoveer.) You will not be disappointed. We were warmly greeted by Victor as well as the bartender. There is an extensive selection of "adult beverages" to choose from. The menu is interesting and appealing to most. We shared the steak bites (yum!) and the shrimp salad (yum.) The dressing was an incredible basil vinaigrette and Victor brought another for me to try which had a nice kick to it. I used it on my salad and steak bites. We indulged ourselves with a slice of cheesecake. Another slice of deliciousness! The prices are extremely reasonable and we will definitely be returning and telling our friends about this gem in Gresham. There is a Happy Hour from 3 pm -6pm and 9pm to midnight. The ambiance is friendly, casual and welcoming. read more

A truly wonderful experience this evening with fantastically friendly service and delicious food. We came in to celebrate my father's birthday, and had a marvelous dinner in a very comfortable space. Everything tasted great - margaritas, taquitos, avocado salad, braised pork, seafood linguini, crème brûlée and flan cheesecake (yes, two desserts, both exquisite). Best restaurant I've eaten at in ages. Very cute spot in downtown Gresham, it's got a great, varied menu with good prices. I love fried oysters and these were excellent. Crispy but not overly breaded and perfectly cooked. Delicious tacos too. Can't wait to try more off the menu. Location is not in 'restaurant row' in downtown Gresham so it's a little off the beaten path right off Powell to the north on Roberts. Please support this excellent place. read more

This was an especially good dinner. We had a few Happy Hour appetizers, the oyster shooters and the fried oysters. Both were a hit . The fried oysters couldn't have been any fresher tasting. There were a nice mix of meat and vegetarian choices on the menu. The french fries that came with my pulled pork sandwich were unusually good. My wife had the NY steak with chimichurri sauce and loved it. The beet salad with pumpkin seeds was especially good as well, with a delicious dressing. If you are interested in Latin cuisine that is different from your usual Mexican place, you should give this spot a try. read more

Stopped in Sunday evening, our party of 4. Only a few people in the place, readily sat down, water on the table within 2 minutes with menus and asked about drinks, orders some Coke's and a margarita. Those were back to the table in about 3 minutes with RC, margarita followed quickly. ROrdered what turn out to be really good salty home made chips with a tasty hot and sweet salsa. I ordered the Pollo a la Crema, it was outstanding, served with rice, and what thought was odd steamed vegetables onion piece, cauliflower and squash. Another ordered shrimp Alfredo Linguine, odd for a Mexican place to have on the menu, server said they were really a Mediterranean restaurant with a heavy French influence, but it was good as he mentioned he would order it again. My wife got the jalapeno burger, she really liked that with the fried jalapeno's and great hand cut crispy fried. Lori got the Ribeye Carne Asada, and really liked it. All of said we would be happy to return to eat again. Desserts were good, thou I would not order another flan cheesecake from anyone, good cheesecake part, just the gooey flan part made for an odd combination. Rated it a 4 star review, though kind of leaning to a 5 star for food flavor, but the odd steamed vegetables and they had quite a few gnats/fruit fly in the air. Still would be happy to get the Pollo a la Crema anytime. Had they had Mexican Coke in a bottle, would have been a 5 star. read more
