Our daughter-in-law recommended a place down the street from their house called Stephens Automotive. We came in limping late Thursday to Arrowhead campground. While we were parking our daughter-in-law went down the road to talk to Stephens. She explained our situation. We were to leave with the group at 5AM Friday. Surprisingly the owner/ manager said to come on over. They would look at our truck. You NEVER get a place to see you if 1- show up on short notice, 2- have deadline, 3- have never met or done business with, 4- around closing time and 5- present them with no chance of repeat business. These wonderful people took our truck, hunted down the parts we needed, and made repairs. In less than 24 hours we were back on the road to Arkansas. If you ever need mechanical assistance go to this local shop. The work is top notch. I was ensured that it was due to it being cold outside and the car warming basically some excuse but I still would have this issue with the car when I would let it sit for a while then turned it back on. The next issue was the same day of purchase the car was jerking and shaking , I had to cancel my doctors appointment and take the car back. I was told to leave the car with Paul and he would have their mechanic fix the issue. Next issue I was having issues with the coil pack and took the car to tell me exactly the issues and it was in both cylinders so I took the car back to them again and it was the same run around this time bring the car at lunch time and once again the mechanic would fix all the issues. The next issue was the biggest, my car began to shake and jerk as it did when I first purchased it, also it couldn't use the gas like normal to accelerate because it would drag as well. I would struggle to get up hills. The car cut off on me and would I would turn it back on it would keep shutting off with majority of the things highlight such as the battery , check engine light everything was lit. My daughter was in the car and we was almost hit multiple times trying to move it out of the road. I let the car sit over night at a gas station and when I came the next day it drove for about 2 seconds up the road it would struggle to get up the hill and shut off again right in the middle of traffic. The same day I went to them and Laura was very nasty the same one who sold me this vehicle she told me that it has no warranty , it is a cash car , the mileage was already high but still if you knew the mileage was high and it was going to soon have issues hmmm why would you sale it ! So you have knowledge of the car having issues. Paula even told me the day I had my coils supposedly fix I had a great engine. Avoid them do not believe the lies !

I thought that was bad, but I had a hard time finding an old 4WD car at a low price. They agreed to fix the breaks and give me a new battery. I left it in the dealership, after buying it, for them to fix it. The next day, I picked it up. The mechanic said he had fixed the breaks, and the battery was good. He indicated that one of the lower arms on the front end needed to be replaced. I drove away and the car still veered to the left when breaking. The rattling was worse now - more like hammering. I had to buy a battery on the way home. The battery was dead. Then, I had my mechanic replace the lower arm. He told me both lower arms, the upper arm on one side, and several other parts were damaged. He replaced several parts and told me to take it to a bigger garage for a full diagnostic. Firestone gave me an estimate for repairs in the amount of$2,400. I told them that is what the car cost. They dropped it to 2,100. i brought it to my mechanic. He is a very nice guy. Using his professional discounts, he helped me buy the parts, including Bushings, hubs, bearings, bolts, calipers, etc. Most of those things I had no idea what they were. He worked for two days replacing mostly everything in the front end and charged me only $200 (out of pity). about $800 in parts, and now the car cost me near $3,500. He even had to fix the brakes too.There are still several repairs pending, such as replacing the ABS sensors and one break sensor. But the car is running smoothly now. Dealerships are registered by the state. Georgia does not have lemon laws. Therefore, dealers are not accountable, unless you take them to court, which very few will do. MY ADVISE IS TO BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Florida has lemon laws. If you are near Florida, go and buy there. It is much safer.

One shop wanted twice the amount of money for labor than his shop did. I'm really glad that I went to him as I was planning on buying a used radiator from a salvage yard. He told me this is a common problem and a used one would do the same thing. I never thought to bring a new container of antifreeze to replace what he was taking out. I thought he could reuse it as I had just replaced the coolant a few months earlier. But, he had to use new coolant and didn't even charge me extra for that. Now, I sat there and waited while he replaced the part. Very nice man. He even gave me the remote to the TV. This is what I would term not a chain type shop. That is, where everything is fancy and absolutely spotless. He's got a few old magazines, maybe a spider web or two and the look of what a mechanic's office used to be before everything got fancy and pricey. So, if you don't mind a that this doesn't look like a cover off of a magazine, your pocket book will thank you. He does stand behind his work and I would have no hesitation to bring my vehciles back to him for service, if need be.
