Nini (her nickname) gave me a special cleaner to use to keep them fresh in between sessions, she gives me brushes each appointment and tips on how to make them last and continue to stay clean. She helps me find the best products for my skin, & even checks in with me to see how the products are working after her recommendations. I am a long time customer, 5+ years & I drive an hour to see her because there is not anyone better or more skilled that I would trust! My lashes are not damaged from having the extensions on consistently, which was one of my major fears, I had her take them off right before I received Lasik last year and my natural lashes were in perfect condition, unlike when I came to her and she had to fix them due to allowing someone else to redo my lashes. She is honest with me & will tell me when it's time to take a break, it's not about the money, it has always been about her client being happy and looking their very best. The color which I thought was going to be way too dark has faded. I now wear a taupe to light brown shadow. Of course, as with all the other people who have had it done, I only have a few noticeable strokes, but the shadowing shape, or effect is perfect, and I am very much looking forward to additional strokes today. I have met a couple of people in Durham who had the procedure done at different locations, and I can't really tell the difference. I had a consultation with Sonya and we worked out a strategy to achieve what I wanted for my brows. I got them done twice in VA, both several years ago and they had started to fade a bluish/greenish brown from the dark brown they had been. This is actually the second local salon I visited for this service, the first told me I'd need to have them lasered off before starting over. Sonya evaluated and said she could fix them no problem. The first session we worked on the color correction and kept the shape mostly the same. The second session (a month later) we finalized the color and went a little bigger on the shape. The final session (a month later) we finished the shape and I ended up with exactly what I wanted. The process was easy, I felt informed every step of the way and Sonya is clearly an expect in her craft. As mentioned above, I have also been going to this salon for my eyelashes for a few months with Maria. She is also an expert at her craft and I always love my lashes. As shown in the screenshots, rather than addressing the pricing discrepancy or concerns in writing, I was told to "move forward with my next steps" because I was not willing to switch to a phone call. I made multiple attempts to resolve this directly and professionally before sharing this review. My request was simply for written clarification regarding a financial and service concern. I'm sharing this experience for transparency so others can make informed decisions. Based on how this situation was handled, I would not personally recommend her to anyone. What makes a good business absolutely depends on how they handle any arising issues and how they communicate.
