I visited Apex Royal Nails for the Apex Pedicure, and while the overall experience was good, it had some rough spots--literally. The technician who did my service was a bit too aggressive during the pedicure, which made parts of it uncomfortable. That said, she did provide some helpful foot care tips at the end, which I appreciated. The salon itself was clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxing. With a little more gentleness during the service, this would have been a five-star experience. read more

Not the best mani pedi I have ever had, but certainly the most expensive. $155 for both. I was told he couldn't add pink to the french polish for the $55 pedi (never been told that before at other salons)? Subpar polishing job on the toes, luke warm water, & the massage chair was not very good. Kept turning off every 2-3 minutes when it was set to 30 min & it didn't move from a strange position in my back no matter what mode I selected. It's a pretty place, but not worth the extra money. Should have read the reviews first. I would recommend Blissful Nail Bar in Apex instead. Always had a great experience there & they will even give you a glass of wine with the service. read more

When you think of this place when you first walk in you are taken away and think wow I am going to get the best nails ever based on the intricate decor. Then you are greeted by a man that's kinda random for the space. The man I had do my nails- I had every gel nail pop off, I was afraid to even touching anything because I knew they would just pop right off.... I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I feel like I have to warn others. My experience at this nail bar was honestly bad. First off, my finger was cut during the service when she was cutting my nails It was painful and completely avoidable with proper technique. My nails were also cut down way too short, they were all different lengths some were EXTREMELY short. Now they hurt and are visibly red and sore. The lady who did my nails ripped the previous liquid gel I had on my nails off, multiple times I flinched and moved my hand yet she continued to force them off. DONT BOOK WITH LILY!! I specifically requested liquid gel, and the tech went ahead and used gel X instead without even informing me. If they did not know how to use liquid gel they should've informed me. On top of that, there are visible bubbles in my nails, and the filing was so uneven that every finger looks chunky. The tips were applied poorly--I can literally feel my natural nails sticking out past the tips. Overall, it was a rushed and careless job that left me in pain and unhappy with how my nails look. Definitely will not be returning, and I hope they take this as feedback to improve both their technique and communication. read more

The place is beautiful and clean. The girl at the front desk was nice but not helpful. For my manicure, I had a specific color that is in every nail salon I've ever been to and asked her to help me find it. She sent the nail tech over and he had no idea what I wanted. I said the same thing I have on now, he proceeded to hand me the samples and I couldn't find anything close. I settled on a color I ended up hating. The pedicure was fine, but the polish is not good. It's clumping and giving the tech problems. I said maybe try something else, and they just kept polishing. It's a poor polish job at best. Over $145 later, I ended up going home and changing the color. They weren't busy so there was no distraction. I might try this salon again, because the tech was very polite. I will not have services done by them again. read more

I've been to 3 different nail techs there until I found one I was happy with. It was going well for a while until my last visit. I was looking forward to it, arrived on time, and sat at the nail tech's station. I watched him text someone for a few minutes and as the time ticked into my appt, I asked if I should come back. He replied "sorry" and then continued texting. Then during that same appt he propped his phone on a stand and FaceTimed someone! The salon was quiet except for his loud speaker phone. It was disruptive and unprofessional. After he hung up, he put something else on his phone to watch (on speaker) with gunshot sounds and I don't know what else. Horrible appt to say the least. And I should point out that the owner of the salon was a few feet away at the front desk and did nothing. She was distracted on her own phone. I will absolutely not go back and will let everyone know about my experience. read more

When I walked in I got a great feeling that I was going to get wonderful experience, boy was I wrong. The gentleman who greeted us seemed like we were bothering him. The male technician started off ok, but seemed to not understand or did not want to help when I asked for another coat of polish because it was to sheer. He said once he put the top coat on it would be better, which it wasn't. As for the nail tech who did my pedicure, I wish I knew her name so I could tell people not to use her. While cutting my cuticles, she cut too deep & I started to bleed. I understand that accidents happen, but she was so nonchalant about it, especially when she put whatever she put on it to stop bleeding. It burnt like hell & she didn't warn me at all. My girlfriends tech, Aleina, was more concerned than my tech was. Maybe if they spent less on the decorations and more on the technician, there would be better service. read more

When you walk in and look around, you feel confident based on the aesthetics that you are going to come away with the great experience. The gentleman who greeted us didn't seem fully engaged nor did he seem to care about the customer. The woman who did my nails did not do a good job. Not only was she quite rough, but by the next day, I already had lines going through my dip nails. Within days I lost, a quarter of one of my thumbnails. About two days after that, I lost half of an index fingernail. I would not recommend her or her services. My girlfriend who accompanied me did not like the quality of the nails she had she would not recommend the gentleman that took care of her. Her nails did not last. The young woman who gave me a pedicure did a fantastic job! Aleina. Her attention to detail and the manner in which she massaged made the trip worthwhile. If I could leave negative stars, I would! I have actually contacted the Board of Health! I went to this place because I had seen some good reviews on Facebook and it was a new place. Walking in you would think you're going to have the royal treatment. WRONG!!! I went for a pedicure. The man that was sent to take care of me wheeled his cart over while he was clearing his throat. I thought OK maybe he had a tickle or he just ate something. Give the benefit of the doubt. When he started to clip my nails, the clippers were on his cart in a cup not a clean sterilized tool tray. Instead, he used nail polish remover to rinse the clippers. When I mentioned, he said this is how we do it here, I know how to do my job. After clipping 1 foot. He got up and said he needed to get some more items for my service. I thought he meant nail polish since I was doing a French pedicure. But I didn't understand why he was getting up when he had only clipped 1 foot. He then left. After 5-10 minutes somebody walked by and I said I don't know where the guy went. (The place was empty) I look in the direction he went and I see him coming out of the men's room. Then he comes back and I said you only did 1 foot and he said I know my job. Told me that I don't need to tell him how to do his job. I started having a panic attack at this point. I was ready to just walk out but again I was trying to give benefit of the doubt. Then when he still had not done my other foot he started rubbing some cold stones on my legs, not even hot ones up, then he put legs cold towels on my legs. Then he finally clipped my other foot. When he went to paint my toes, he started with the color and didn't use a basecoat, after painting one toe and then he proceeded to tell me that he was having bathroom issues, he wasn't sure what was wrong. I told him to stop, I'm done, I'm leaving. I tried to explain it to the person at the register, but they didn't understand what my issues were and offered a manicure. At the same time I got a call from my daughter who is traveling to Florida during a CAT5 hurricane! So I walked out. Then I get a call saying that they're going to have the police come and arrest me! Honestly, I should've trusted my instinct and walked out long before I did. read more
