It's really nothing special at all…read more It kind of has a feel of an outlet - meaning it just feels like there is just a bunch of "stuff" on their shelves - and nothing really stands out. If you're looking for a SPECIFIC something for your home, then this isn't a bad place. I just wouldn't come here to buy more than one or two things that I need.

Oy Vay! This weekend…read moreI decided to go Christmas shopping with my hubby to add to our home decor. We were in White Rock to visit family and came across the HomeSense. Understanding HomeSense to be one of the best places to shop, we walked in to check it out. Upon browsing we came across a cute little snowman ornament priced at 5$ (expensive for just one decorative item!) - the upsetting part was that it was damaged (button missing and red glue spots) visibly and there didn't seem to be any others on display. I tracked down a sales rep and asked her if they had any more of the ornaments in stock to replace the damaged one, unfortunately, she said that all they had was on the floor. Disappointed, but in love with the little snowman, I hummed and hawwed, trying to justify to myself the spending of more money on a simple, but damaged ornament. I asked the sales rep if she thought they could offer a discount and she said yes, and to ask for it at check out. I decided I would see if they could discount it and I would try to repair it on my own. Upon arriving to the check out, I told the cashier told them the scenario, then asked if they could a) discount the item or b)order more in. The manager then came over, refused to look at me, looked at the snowman with disgust and said they wouldn't discount it because it was ONLY five dollars (their stated price) and that it was already cheap (Um- $5 for a single seasonal ornament is PRETTY PRICY to common folk if you ask me!, Hello Walmart?!) , followed by the statement that if she would discount it (but she was choosing not to) it would only be for 50 cents. THEN she went into a whole statement about how they receive items as damaged all the time, that they weren't damaged in-store so its not their fault and they should have to face financial loses because they sell damaged items at full price. .... WOW is right. BUT WAIT! THERES MORE! After being appalled (and somewhat shocked!) that a manager just plainly stated that they don't value their products, view lesser priced items as insignificant and that they routinely sell DAMAGED GOODS AT FULL PRICE, I asked if they could order a non damaged one in for me to purchase. Without any hesitation she said no, and that they don't do that for their customers. So- a company that doesn't care about customer satisfaction either?! Needless to say, I left without purchasing anything and with no intention to come back since they had such poor customer service, company values/morals and view a 5$ price point for a SNOWMAN ORNAMENT as too low value and quality. Looks like I will only be shopping at PIER 1 from now on.

Noticed this contractor had great reviews and some beautiful work on Yelp. My partner and I…read morerequested a quote on retiling two small baths and a kitchen floor. Bathman replied to our email in a day stating he was booking jobs out four months approx. This timeline worked for us so Bathman suggested coming at noon a few days later to quote. He showed up on the agreed on date but was approximately an hour late. No worries for us, but apparently our parking was problematic for the Shower Tile Crusader. When my partner greeted him as he exited his truck he ignored any polite greeting to complain that the short term parking was not acceptable if he took the job/how did we expect him to park for the job, etc. Note: we have a parkade he could use for when/if he took the job. My partner was so taken back by his attitude she wished him a good day. Bathman left in his Bathmobile without any further questions a hello or a goodbye. Never even got inside to quote as his attitude was an impediment.

There aren't many reviews for home reno companies on yelp, especially ones that focus on bathrooms,…read moreso I thought I'd drop some information on my experience with Sharam at Bathman. I had a small bathroom project that needed to be done before I moved into my new house. My realtor's bathroom guy flaked on the project, as did the first contractor I hired. Sharam managed to be the only contractor I dealt with who did the following things: 1) Provided me a quote that included a timeline (necessary for the strata) 2) Gave me suggestions for fixtures/etc. so that I didn't have to run around the city to preferred suppliers 3) Gave me good design suggestions One of the hesitations I had with Sharam was that his website has a lot of bathroom designs that were far outside of the modern aesthetic that I was interested in for my project. Additionally his online presence on review sites isn't great compared to other companies, which could mean anything. I'm happy to say that neither concern was valid, as the work looked modern and great, and he was easy to deal with, with the work coming in around budget ( I changed scope a few times ) and on time (despite the change in scope). I'd recommend him for this kind of bathroom project to anyone, he clearly knows what he's doing and he's reliable, which seems to be a rarity in anything related to house renovation. I have a few minor gripes - he was late when I scheduled him to quote the project ( he was never late again ) and my strata was wanting specific times for when loud work was happening, which he didn't provide -- in the end he kept the noise levels under control despite doing tile cutting and other potentially loud work so it wasn't a big deal
