So good. So so good. We had a set menu since we had a large party and I ended up having the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, and then the tenderloin steak. Also had Brussels sprouts, carrots and roasted potatoes as sides. The steak was melt in your mouth delicious. Note that medium: still red and medium rare: almost rare. We had the cinnamon sugar donuts for dessert which are hands down the best donuts I've ever had. read more

Self dubbed a modern steakhouse, Elisa is the newest restaurant from Top Table group. We found it to be good. Perhaps with some adjustments it could be great. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the steaks offered and we appreciated that he was well trained. Outstanding: anything steak. The vegetable tartar was also a bright and lovely dish. We were a bit disappointed by the crab legs (while delicious on their own, the sauce felt a bit over powering). Other dishes such as the burrata, cauliflower, cheese plate and dessert were all fine enough, just nothing overly exciting. Ambiance is interesting. We appreciated the different stations (a large fire for entrees, a tartar only station, a cold appies station) and the sleek look of the furniture. The server also had a crumb brush which we liked. We are unsure of some of the decor like super hero poster and 80s feeling rubber mats on the benches, but to each their own I guess. read more

Was not pleased with my experience at Elisa. When my friends were not happy with their steak, the waiter swapped it for a better but much higher priced steak without telling them the cost. This led to a reckoning when the bill came. I had had a cauliflower steak which was about $28 and a glass of white wine (the bottle may have been $60 split three ways). When the meal was divided five ways (it was six of us but we split the birthday girl's dinner) it was $200 for my portion. The birthday girl was one of the ones who'd split the extremely expensive substitution steak and they had had a pricey fish as well. And it seems the others had split an expensive bottle of red as well. This was when we realized the waiter's sneaky substitution. In addition, when the waiter realized we were discussing this, he piped in that I had had two bottles of sparkling water which were $9 each to ensure that I had to pay for that but never having mentioned it to me that there was a charge for it beforehand. My friends and I eventually reached an agreement of what to pay; however when the waiter took our payments he purposefully neglected to thank me and my friend who both had balked at the $200 bill each as we had both had the cauliflower and the glass of white wine and complained. He had obsequiously thanked all others when they paid. The restaurant needs to train its waiters to be more upfront about costs beforehand rather than this sneaky business of not telling you what things cost. I will never return to this restaurant. read more

My boyfriend treated me out for my birthday dinner.. He had made reservations about a week and half in advance. Come to the special day.. I was super excited to order some delicious dry aged steak. When we sat down is when I got upset to hear that they had a fire in the oven where they cook their steaks. Obviously it's not their fault and things happen. I wouldn't cancel just because of that as I do like other items on their menu..But I wish they notified us prior so I didn't have to get my hopes up. read more

Toptable Group continues to impress me! This is one of few steakhouses in Vancouver in which I can applaud. I had a great time at Elisa. The restaurant is really quite large which was a pleasant surprise as I dislike feeling like I'm in such close proximity to other diners. The service was great and our server was helpful in selecting our dishes. Very impressed with the fact that they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions and sensitivities. The overall ambience of the restaurant is wonderful as the dim lighting definitely helps set the vibe. It definitely reminds me of a few restaurants I've visited in New York by still manages to keep that West Coast feel. We had the USDA prime 'Vancouver cut' bone-in tenderloin which was perfectly done medium rare and the crispy cauliflower (definitely recommend for vegetarians) which was quite a large portion and featured a great mix of flavours and also some sides that I can't remember. Everything was delicious. My highlight was the wine as there is a healthy selection of wine available. Someone on the wine team came over to assist in selecting a wine that would pair well with and compliment the flavours of the food and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, I was running late for other plans and didn't get a chance to order dessert. I was so impressed that I'll definitely be returning to try something sweet next time. Sidenote: Although the place was busy, I could still carry a conversation with my dinner companion and didn't feel like I had to yell over the noise. So big thumbs up! read more

This was our first time at Elisa. Omg the food was amazing as was the service. The tuna tartare was to die for. Sasha, Pilar and Braedon made our night outstanding. We will definitely be back and we'll bring our friends. Thanks for a memorable evening! read more

This IS currently my favourite steak house! I've been there 3-4 times and I've been wowed every time. The food aside, their service is something else! The 2nd time I went, some of the servers recognized me and came to ask how I was doing and welcomed me back to the restaurant! And the food .... don't get me started! They have a wide range of steak options and lots of sides to choose from! The dairy cow cuts are really good and also the truffle Mac and cheese ... highly recommended! read more

This restaurant has great ambiance and the service and food were simply fantastic. I recommend the tuna with avocado and the Hamachi appetizer. The mushroom risotto broccolini and snake River Farms strip loins we're all also amazing. read more

Aside from the food and wine being absolutely incredible, we were also given extremely good service by our server Danielle. We enjoyed the food & hospitality so much that we made another reservation for a few days later! Carla, the hostess, was very kind & helpful in helping us make that reservation. Bravo Elisa Steakhouse! read more

Great food and drinks option. Great service. Great restaurant floor lay-out. Love the huge wine rack walls.

atmosphere: modern and clean, dark with ample seating that is stragic. they make the space work. price: on the high side, however, nothing unttainable. customer service: very friendly food: the steak was really good and made to order. very flavorful and the timing was good. no complaints on prep. read more

I oredered my steak medium rare. It came out as medium well-done first time after waiting for an hour. They said they would try again, second time also came out overcooked. Extremely disappointed. Attaching pic of second time my steak came out. Second time was also overcooked. I told them I will just eat it as I didnt want to wait even longer. read more

Amazing food. Great steak with great sides all around.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate my 20th birthday, and I could not have had a better dinner. Leama our server made my whole night! She was not only extremely knowledgeable, but the sweetest most thoughtful server I've ever had. From start to finish she did everything she could to make our night special and she succeeded! The food was obviously delicious, but it was all thanks to Leama that we had such an amazing and unforgettable night. Thank you so much again. read more

A stylish upscale choice in cool Vancouver. We loved this restaurant - it feels hip, cool and modern - a beautiful decor. We had fantastic service throughout the meal with excellent explanations of the menu with good recommendations. The food was delicious but especially the Tuna Tartare and the steaks! Favourite steakhouse in vancouver. Oysters are fresh and paired with a delicious mignonette. The polenta is delicious and packs a great crunch and umami taste. Steak is always cooked to perfection and the ambience is great. Do always try to make a reservation though. read more

We been trying to book for the last two weeks and it's still not booked. First we sent email to reservation with no replies. Then we called, many times. They directed us to contact Whitney the event coordinator, and after two emails she asked us to call front desk again because she was out of the office. Never have we experienced such difficulties in booking any restaurant. read more

I was told that this is going to be the best steak in town... We got a 30oz Ribeye and 8oz fillet mignon... It was the worst steak as it had no marble and super chewy... They messed up my appetizers... They brought my sides as appetizers and appetizers as sides... So I ate rissoto as appetizers... And Everytime I complained they just acted know it all and ignored the fact that they keep making mistakes... It's for sure not worth trying read more

Good food and good service but a little overpriced in my opinion. I would not recommend for this reason as there are equally as good steak houses that don't charge as much. secondly just a recommendation as well but should be standard in a high class establishment the table bread should be served warm and the butter should not be defrosted in the microwave and served as liquid read more

The steaks here are great and the experience is super fun. It is a lot different than any other Vancouver steakhouse so it is definitely worth a try to visit and see what it's about. Location is great as it's right in Yaletown. Valet is easiest parking option for this place. read more

The room is fantastic, service impeccable. All in all, this is a great location to enjoy a night out. Cocktails were creative, food was fresh! There is a good selection of steak restaurants in Vancouver, while I don't think this is the best one for the steak itself, I have to say everything else is pretty on point. read more

I brought my staff here as a celebration and once again, the experience did not disappoint. Like with my most recent previous experience, Jonathan was above and beyond. His attentiveness, communication and recommendations are top notch and it really makes the evening go smooth. His performance is at a level that all staff should look to as a benchmark. My staff appreciated everything he did for us and it really made their experience wonderful. Thank you! read more

This is a mixed review in as much as some of us enjoyed our meal more than others. We arrived at 6:45 and had our starter course at 7:30, our main at 8:15 and dessert and coffee at 9pm. Service was polite and professional but the kitchen was slow. Prices outrageous. Our starter salads were excellent and our wives thought that their halibut was perfectly prepared. My friend enjoyed his Holstein ribeye but my Cache Creek Ribeye was without doubt the worst steak I have ever had in a steakhouse. It was so tough that the steak knife had trouble slicing it and was probably 25-30% fat and gristle. Desserts were excellent and finally paid the bill at 9:45. Restaurant was full and very noisy. Definitely wouldn't return here. read more

I came with a party of six to celebrate my in-laws' 35th anniversary. This is the newest Aquilini restaurant in town named after the family's late mother. It's a fine dining steakhouse but has a modern touch which has a sleek feel to it. In my opinion, it was a better experience than say Hy's. The great thing about this place is that not even do they do an excellent steak, they also have plenty of seafood if you're not in the mood for red meat. We got the seafood tower as an appetizer and everything was extremely fresh. Although I wasn't in the mood for a steak on this night (I got the sablefish), I was able to sample the short rib and lamb. I got to say the lamb was basically like butter as it melted in my mouth. Most tender lamb I've ever had. As for the sides, I could probably do without the onion rings for $12 for five. You could get the same from Red Robin lol. However, the risotto was delicious. At the end of the night we had packed a bunch of food to go. However, one of our group's short rib didn't come back. We let them know and they basically cooked up a new one and comp'd it. They turned a wrong into a right but to be honest, a place with this ilk, I wouldn't expect anything less. Overall, the food was fresh and it was a good night. Prepare to spend a lot though, similar to a Hy's or Gotham's. read more

Just phenomenal! The food, service and atmosphere were aligned perfectly and the price was very reasonable given the above. This was a special dinner with friends and family and our server went out of his way to make sure we felt welcome and cared for. read more

I am a steakhouse addict and am always looking for the best in each city. Elisa certainly is among the best. The beef options are extensive and flavorful in their own unique ways. Service was top notch and the wine list was impressive - although a bit overpriced. (This may be a Canadian tax issue?). The atmosphere was modern yet cozy and felt alive though intimate. Truly well done. read more

The most amazing restaurant!! We didn't have a reservation and ended up sitting in the small lounge area near the bar. What a stroke of luck as we ended up with Katie. She expertly brought us through both the drink and steak menus to be sure we had the best dining experience. From great house cocktails, special little treats from the chef, to amazing steaks - we had a fantastic dining experience! This was by far the best meal on our 14 day trip. read more

Elisa is the best steakhouse in British Columbia, in every respect, including the fantastic food, the excellent service, the warm ambience, and the attention to detail. We have dined there 5 times in the last 12 months and have always come away impressed and satisfied. They are constantly improving and we look forward to our next meal there. read more

Found a living bug 3cm in diameter in my napkin. Didn't realize until I saw something crawling around on my leg. The staff did nothing, didn't even apologize for the BUG!!! I'm pretty sure they had folded the bug into the napkin when preparing the utensils. The food wasn't amazing either. Just average. read more

Vancouver's best for me. The slow fire roast process is intriguing to me. The art or transferring BTU to food always amazes me. That Holstein Dairy ribeye... is a must, and is great value. I have yet to try their weekend roast prime rib and roast chicken. Visiting again soon. read more

We had been here a few times and enjoyed the experience but, we brought a friend with us to this "fabulous " steakhouse and were so embarrassed.. My friend and I were seated in a booth with my husband opposite, everything was going well till the waiter of the next table began by kicking my husband's chair when he passed and then he literally pushed it!!! We asked what he thought he was doing and he answered "trying to do my job"!!! Seriously!! How rude... shame as it has wiped the shine off this place for us... read more

I have had many incredible dining experiences around the world, and I must say Elisa is in my top 5. Not only for the amazing food, wine and cocktails, but for the experience as well. Our server (I wish I could remember his name!) was so attentive with many great recommendations..(same with the sommelier) Not an inexpensive evening by far, but it was well worth it. Will definitely be recommending my clients, and will return myself. Thank you! read more

Awesome place , very fancy , good food , it's an experience inside there excellent service too

Went to Elisa last night with my boyfriend for our first date night after quarantine. We had the BEST time largely due to the incredible service! Eduardo was kind, knowledgeable, warm and attentive. He made sure to go far above and beyond to answer and explain any questions we had about the cuts and origins of the steaks while describing them (and the current chef's features) beautifully. Eduardo even went as far as telling us the story behind the steak knives when he noticed we were looking at them. He told us at the end of the meal that it was his first shift back after quarantine and we couldn't believe it!! Food wise, the seafood plateau was incredible and the oysters were juicy - it was a perfectly light starter considering the richness of our main course. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the truffle mac and cheese lived up to everything my boyfriend had made it out to be. It was a 10/10 dining experience and we would definitely recommend Elisa and Eduardo to our friends and family! read more

We were very underwhelmed by the main at Elisa. Have had better steak in pretty well every steak place we've been to and the risotto side we chose was runny and bland. Our server was very attentive, but seemed to come up short on knowledge. I asked about bartender Katie Ingram's award winning cocktail.. he'd not heard of it and went to ask. Thought I'd try it and really was not impressed by the appearance or flavour. The smoked bison tartare was very good but our server had no idea how it was smoked ( my husband had asked). We did appreciate the lovely calligraphy on the dessert ( special occasion). $20 but nicely done. I asked if the ice cream was banana.. the answer was there's banana in it. Mark up on wines under $100 is well over the industry average and the Zin we ordered was very acidic and not great. My spouse, who is no stranger to Top Table places says he's never seen so many wines over $1000.. or $6000 for that matter. We expected the prices but not the disappointing main. Rib eye tender in the middle but chewy and lots of gristle at the ends. And the 'vegetable garnish...'? One carrot and a sprig of broccolini. We'd much rather go back to the Bluewater, Cincin or Araxis Plus Elisa is super loud... poor acoustics in an otherwise nice modern atmosphere. read more

Tasty sides and a wonderful atmosphere - but the steak was overcooked - which for your local diner would be fine - but for a steakhouse with an impressive menu, it was really disappointing. It was made all the worse by a waiter who made a , perhaps judgemental, point about how medium rare is the way a steak should be cooked. For all that fuss and the price, the least they could have done is cooked it properly. read more

Was brought here to celebrate a milestone birthday last month. I was expecting great service due to all the reviews on-line but they must have been having an off night. We were seated but no one came by for a good 10 minutes. Our server didn't really explain all the different cuts of beef on the menu even though he was aware it was our first time here. The steaks are worth coming for though. We started with the seafood plateau which was refreshing and everything was tasty and fresh. Table had the Wisconsin striploin, Cache Creek striploin and Alberta wagyu coulotte which were all cooked perfectly to a medium-rare. For sides we had the broccolini and mac and cheese. Broccolini is okay but nothing to write home about and the mac and cheese could definitely use more truffle flavour. I find the sides to be a bit on the pricey side for what you get. Overall, a good place to come for a special occasion. read more

Definitely not worth the price tag. We dropped over $300 for two steaks & a couple sides. Both steaks were completely under seasoned & so were the potato's! Not what one would expect when paying top dollar. We found the ambiance a bit pretentious as well unfortunately. We will not be returning. Under seasoning is a cardinal sin...lol. read more

Just ok.. It's a very well run restaurant with a lot of staff, beautiful room but that's where the good ends. When all our entrees arrived they were warm trending towards cold and served on cold plates. I would probably give it 2.5 stars out of 5 and for me it ranks low on the high end steak restaurants in Vancouver. read more
