Service and ambiance is okay My review is regarding the membership --- deceiving and misleading information. To avoid five-year federal expiration prohibition on gift cards, they create this membership and my service apparently expired after 12 months if I stopped continuing paying monthly fee. It was a treat from my husband after postpartum when he book the reservation. Not knowing fully what I signed up for while I was busy filling out these paperwork for new client and body worksheet. Receptionist pursuit to sale these memberships saving --- where I definitely remember her stating you can pause it anytime - the service will not expire and will stay on the account. Knowing the service will stay on the account, I signed up for this membership. I'm a busy mother working from home full time, breastfeeding, and caring for my child thus no time to treat myself so I pause my membership after 3 months. Now that I came back to the business because I'm almost due again in June to treat myself. The receptionist not only denied of my credit but print out a statement (highlighted for me to see) -- that should've been highlighted to begin with for clients -- these service will expire after 12 months. This is such a shame for a business to do this especially when it's a treat for someone to do these services and it wasn't like I'm asking it for free. These are services I paid in advance and it was misleading to not inform your receptionist to emphasize on the terms instead of making a sale that's it's never expire and will remain on the account. I had a peace of mind signing up for the membership knowing I can use it anytime and knowing my right. I not only walk away from the business feeling unappreciated and cheated but also upset by the way it was informed back to me why the service expired by throwing a printout and highlighted the terms and conditions. Obviously, I didn't have time to read these terms and conditions when you get rushed into a massage session with a bunch of new client paperwork to fill out where your needs to be focus on instead I trust the words of a receptionist when they made sale of the membership. At the end of the day, what I want was services I already paid and it's wrong for business to find these loopholes to not obligated to the law. read more

The owner is well aware of what's going on in his establishment...and apparently is fine with it. Be very cautious going to this place. I've gotten a massage here a few times, I always felt like the time was cut short. Once I was brought into the room about 5 minutes late, no big deal but the massage didn't start for another 5 minutes with no time made up. I recently had a 90 minute massage, brought in on time, massage starts about 5 minutes later this time though I paid attention to the start time and the end time. Sure enough we end about 10 minutes early. If I'm paying for 90 minutes, I'd like the 90 minutes and not 75 minutes. read more

I was charged a $75 cancellation fee because I called into the location to inform them that I had just tested positive for COVID-19. The person answering the phone immediately decided to cancel my appointment and told me that I would not be charged for missing the appointment. A few hours later, my credit card was charged $75. I tried calling back after the charge was received, seeing as how they were open late. Many calls, and no answers. I finally started receiving text messages the next day, telling me that they had no choice but to charge me, and that it was the owner of the studio who made the decision. I explained that there was no misunderstanding because of what the person answering the phone who canceled my appointment had told me. She never told me that if I did not show up - despite being COVID-19 positive - that I would be charged. She never even gave me the option to come in sick - she just immediately said ok and canceled the appointment for me. So, just keep in mind that if you do the right thing and let them know that you have COVID-19, they might automatically cancel your booking and charge you anyways. *** After informing Elements that I had posted online reviews describing exactly what happened, they offered me a discount on a new appointment, stating that the owner charged my card and there's nothing they can do. read more

I've been here a few times and stopped going because they were 7 minutes late to my couples massage on my anniversary with no apology, no reduced cost and they didn't make it up on the back end. Fast forward to a year or so later and I decided to give them another chance, mainly because my go to massage place had no openings. No idea why I thought things would be different because I guess that's their norm. My hot stone massage lasted less than 50 minutes and I was getting dressed before the top of the hour. If you only perform 50 minute massages then don't charge and promote for one hour. At $140 for the service I expect much better. And on my birthday no less.. Had massage here because i had severe low back pain . Lady was nice, the session was nothing but relaxing. By that I mean that the therapist put a very little pressure. I explained that my lower back needed the most attention and it was seem to be understood... I truly hoped to get a relief from pain but that didn't happen:( the massage was very weak :( very little pressure, not enough focus on the trouble area. Funny that my roommate rubbed my back that night and magically made it feel better. What a waste of money! My husband purchased a $200.00 + tax giftcard for me for Mother's day from the Park Ridge location. Just before that i found out about a medical condition I have that prevents me from receiving massages. They said they would only make an exception to refund my husband if I disclose my medical information straight from my doctor. That is absolutely none of their business who's care I am under and why. This isn't a used giftcard. We just want our money back for something I won't ever be able to use and sure not going to just give it away to someone... the girl I spoke with was incredibly rude. Her name is Angel. Even if this wasn't my situation, she alone would be why I would never come here. This place has tons of terrible reviews and it's clear why. Worst massage experience I've ever had. I had some time this morning, and they had a therapist available at 8:45, so I called to book it. They said the therapist would be available at 9:15, so okay. Booked it for 90 minutes, then they immediately move the time to 10. Okay, bad sign but no problem. Get there, the therapist just does not know what she's doing. Skipped my lower back entirely, and just didn't know in the least how to deal with my sore right shoulder. The massage was little more than spreading lotion over me for 90 minutes. Then I get done, and when I'm checking out, they charge me $30 more than they said they would. They told me in writing it would be $79, and then said "no, you went for 90 minutes. The member price is $109 for 90 minutes. So they charged me $109. When I came back in to show the receptionist my phone with the text messages from them (from this morning!!) saying it would be $79, she jumped back and said "you don't have to put it so close, I can read." I would have just left it at that, but the receptionist said they would refund my money only if I wrote a review. So here's my review. read more

Not sure if it was just my expectations being incorrect but I expected the prenatal massage to be on a different type of table. Like the ones with the hole in it so we could still lay flat. Instead, I laid on my side the whole time with a body pillow. It was fine and the massage was still good but with it costing more I did expect the experience to be a bit more catered to a pregnancy. read more

My kids gave me gift cards from this location and I realized one of them was about to expire. So I called to make an appointment, and someone named angel answered the phone, and told me they have a 9:45 appointment available. It was already 9:04 and I asked if they had a 10:15 or 10:30? She said no. So my next question was, who was going to be my therapist, since I don't feel comfortable with a male therapist. She said no it's with Marcy. So I jumped in my car and drove 30 minutes to get there in time. I got there at 9:40 and checked in and sat down to be called. I hear angel calling Marcy on the phone, and asking her if she could be in, in 5 minutes? And obviously Marcy said no. I'm sitting there listening to this, and waiting for angel to say something to me and she didn't. So I get up and ask her what is going on, and she tells me that Marcy is on call and can't make it in. I asked if Marcy was called 40 minutes ago, to be informed, she has an appointment? And she says no. I was busy. You can imagine how appalled I was. So I told her how upset I was. She obviously didn't care. And when I asked to see a supervisor, she stands up and says, that would be me. What can I do for you?. Long story short, I agreed to reschedule for the next day and she gave me a 30 minute bump on my massage. Drove back home. And on the way the next day, I pulled the card she had given me the previous day to make sure there are no other problems. And that's when I realized she had scheduled me with a male therapist, knowing that I had said to her the previous day, that is not what I want. So I call again , already on my way. A nice gentleman named James answers the phone, and I explained the situation to him, hoping they have a female on staff and they can just switch me. He told me they can't and everyone is booked. This was the second time I drove 30 minutes each way for nothing. I was close, so I parked my car, and went in, and at that point I realized, I don't want to be there anymore. So I asked him to change my gift cards, so they can be used at other locations. And he very nicely said ok and proceeded to do that. Angel walks in and jumps in to telling James how much money they are going to lose for switching the gift cards, but to go ahead and do it, because SHE doesn't want to see me any more. News flash, I don't want to see you ever again. How clueless could one be? Who put her in charge? Never again. read more

I purchased two 50 minute massages for my fiancé and I when I came across a deal with "MyHownd" which is like Groupon. After I purchased with "MyHownd" I checked the MyHownd app, and my purchase was there. Right before I went into the massage, I checked my app and my purchase was suddenly no longer there. I worried about this the entire ride to my massage. When I got there, the employees at elements were so nice and allowed me to do my massage first and figure out the payment problem later. It was very nice of them, but I was not relaxed my entire massage-all I could think about was if I was gonna have a problem with payment when my massage was over. After going home and searching everywhere/calling customer service, I finally found a paper I had printed out of the purchase, and was able to call Elements to get it squared away. Elements had already figured it out without letting me know before I went crazy trying to figure it out myself at home. lol. Aside from all that, the employees at Elements are so nice and professional at what they do. I had a stressful experience which was unfortunate and not their fault, but if you're looking for a neighborhood quick and easy place to get a decent massage, this place has great customer service and is clean. read more

Very dissatisfied with my services. I had my appointment at 10:30 and I was 8 minutes late. Let me remind you I was getting there as fast as I could. My appointment was originally at 12:30 but then the lady at the front is changed it last minute to 1030 when I made the appointment. So I'm taking a test for school and I get a text message saying your massage in Park Ridge started five minutes ago. I look at the text all confused so I hurry to finish my test then I call the lady and say hello I seen that you texted me saying that I had a massage at 10:30 and she goes what's your name and then she looked me up and she goes yes you have an appointment at 10:30 I go it was originally supposed to be at 1230 and she goes well we're still going to charge you the $90 because you're going to be a no-show and I go well what can I do and she goes nothing. Not understanding whatsoever didn't give me options like oh you could come in another day and we won't charge you, wasn't nice about it at all. In the fact that it was $90 bothers me even more because when I got there, she explained to my masseuse that I was late and she didn't know what the masseuse was going to do. So when I was starting to do my massage I explained to the person that was doing my massage that things happen, she was very understanding. As my massage was going on. This lady was very rough. I couldn't even relax because she was literally trying to get the knots out of my neck and shoulder and let me remind you we only had a half an hour because I was late. The next day after my massage I literally felt like I got hit by a bus, my upper body, neck and back were hurting me so bad. I feel like I'm in an alternate world as soon as I walk in the waiting room because it is so peaceful, calm, and always smells good (even though it's on a busy street outside). I first came periodically for massages, but decided this year to join as a member. I save money and it is a good way to make sure that I'm taking time to myself each month. I went in last night for a massage and cupping with Shanti - I was greeting by an extremely friendly woman at the front desk and the spa smelled so wonderful and I immediately felt a wave of relaxation come over me. The massage was okay. I admit I was a little bit late to my appointment. The problem was that they would not let me forget that I was late. The whole massage the masseuse talked to me about the importance of not being late. Which I clearly understood, but for the whole massage he was basically complaining to me and kept reminding me that he has to leave at 8 pm. Which prevented me from enjoying the massage. I mean, I still paid full price for only a half of massage. If it was such an issue, I wish they would have told me to cancel and reschedule. I've been coming here for the last 4 years or so due to bad shoulder pain. I would come every time I had a break from school, and the massages were always very beneficial to release tension from the stress of studying. I always go to Joanna, and recommend her to anyone that enjoys or needs deep tissue massage, because she is great at applying high pressure. Joanna starts every session asking what body parts have been troublesome and what areas you want to focus on, and also offers hot packs if you are experiencing pain before starting the session. The studio is very clean and soothing and the perfect place to go to to relax. I recommend Elements to anyone wanting a massage. read more

I had a massage booked for today. The massage therapist I was scheduled with had a medical emergency and wasn't able to do my massage. Which is fine. I understand that. What I don't understand is why I, the paying customer, has to reschedule and suffer the consequences of a poorly staffed business. I should not have had to be rescheduled. They should have asked someone to come in and cover the shift. The woman, Adrienne, who called, 30 minutes before my appointment, and left me a message and then also spoke to me on the phone was both rude and unhelpful. She immediately got an attitude with me. Also during the phone call she claimed I cursed at her which I never did. So, not only did she get a tone with me on the phone but she tried turning the situation around to be my fault. Super awesome customer service! This was going to be my first massage here. As a law enforcement officer's wife, I don't get to "pamper" myself... ever, due to my husband's ever changing schedule. Needless to say, I will NEVER attempt a massage here again. They don't have contingency plans for when their therapists call in and Adrienne needs a lesson or two in customer service. The man booked me a hot stone massage here while he was off for some bachelor party in NYC. I'm spoiled! The treatment rooms are small but comfy and quiet, plenty of privacy. My therapist was kind and regularly checked in with me to be sure the pressure was to my liking. The front desk staff were lovely as well. Bought a Groupon to try this place. I wasn't disappointed! For $129, I got 3 50-minute massage sessions. Regular price for a 50-minute session is $89...very expensive. However if you decide to join as a member, the new rate will be $59. Still slightly expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for. I'm satisfied with the service and I definitely got my money's worth! Love the heated beds, so relaxing! The therapists I've had were both phenomenal. Marlo was my therapist for the first 2 sessions and Martyna for the 3rd. They're both professional, efficient, and knowledgeable although I think I'll go with Marlo. Her pressure level is exactly what I need. I like the oil that they use as well. Doesn't stink and doesn't stick to your clothes. I also like the little Dove chocolate they give you at the end. I'm such a sucker for chocolates. :) Overall good value for your money. Looking forward to more massages! read more

I came for my appointment and the receptionist was ok, not accommodating ...always on the phone. So was hoping my massage therapist will not disappointment me. She did not. It was pretty good. This review is about the unfortunate receptionist service and not the quality of the services which they provide, which I have no problem with. I got a Groupon from my boyfriend for Christmas and already had my first massage a few weeks ago. It was great. I was looking forward to the next massage. When I got there, it turned out that I made an appointment with a male masseuse. I made the appointment in person after my first massage, and the receptionist never mentioned that I was going to get the next massage with a male. She just said "you will have your next massage with Tina"... Apparently she said Tino not Tina. Tino is a very uncommon male name (at least I never met anyone named Tino,) so I would have never thought she was referring to a male. I know some people do not care and are comfortable with having a male masseuse, but I wasn't. It was an awkward moment and I had a shocked look on my face when he greeted me.... "I didn't realize you were a male", I blurted out. I felt bad for him because it wasn't his fault and it's just my preference to have a female masseuse. I wish the receptionist would have mentioned something when I scheduled the appointment, to avoid this awkward and unnecessary situation. I had to reschedule for another day. I still ended up giving him a tip because I felt bad and it really wasn't his fault and I'm sure he is a great masseuse, but I just didn't feel comfortable. Here's a more detailed review, though: After working out almost every day for several months, I decided it was time to treat myself to a massage. Elements offered a special for $69 for a one hour massage, which I thought was a pretty good deal. Though I don't remember my first experience too vividly, it was good enough to sign up for the membership. I pay $69/month for a one hour massage - and the benefits are great (the pass is transferable to family and friends at this location, unused sessions are rolled over to be used at a later date... and they don't expire, and I get the rate of $49/hour if I choose to go more than once in a month). All-in-all, it was a great decision and I'm very happy. However, I am writing this to not only praise the great deal, but to also give a HUGE shout-out to Emily, my masseuse. She is absolutely phenomenal. At first, I didn't really have any loyalty to one particular person, and I would just book them on a whim. Now, however, I can't go back to anyone else! First of all, she's EXTREMELY talented and attentive... homegirl knows exactly what she's doing. She works very hard the entire time and I've never been disappointed. I like to have my sessions at night so I can come home and relax afterwards, and despite the fact that I'm sure she's been working all day before I get there, Emily always has energy and delivers on my expectations. She's also very mindful to offering me a relaxing experience (vs. trying to chat, like I've had others do). At the same time, she's also very knowledgable and will take time to answer any questions or address any concerns. Before we begin, I provide a quick update to how I'm feeling and what I'd prefer her to focus on and during the session she quietly asks for check-ins before moving to the next part of my body.
