Getting a chair massage was at times awkward here, as many of the chairs were in plain view of people walking through to the table rooms. I once heard my CEO come through while I was getting a chair massage. I was on my lunch hour and not playing hooky, but being recognized while you're drooling into the chair isn't my idea of privacy. Got a table massage here once and the rooms are so cramped the massage therapist couldn't really get around the table easily. It caused a bit of a distraction from completely zenning out. The nail in the coffin visit I was getting a chair massage and the therapist wrenched my back so bad, doing non-massage stretches, that she tied my back up in knots and I had to go to the chiropractor twice just to get back to normal. Employee turnover here was high as well, not a good sign.

They close at 6:00 pm, which even if they say they are flexible you can't be too sure, if it's a good idea to keep someone after their scheduled shift.

When I called to schedule, the person on the phone was lovely and made me feel good about surprising my mom and she even complimented me for being a thoughtful daughter. Unfortunately, the experience on the day of the appointment was far from professional. At 10am (the scheduled time), I received a call saying the staff was stuck in traffic coming from Chicago and would be 30 minutes late. My mom had arrived early at 9:45, only to find the spa completely closed--despite signage saying they open at 10. No lights on, no staff present. She decided to wait, but the staff didn't show up until 10:37am. Whoever opened the door didn't seem to know who my mom was or what service she was there for, which was concerning since I had booked and paid well in advance. It was clear they were disorganized. Despite paying for a 90-minute massage, my mom only received 60 minutes. She said the massage was "okay," but it felt rushed--not the relaxing experience I intended for her. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing situation. If you're considering VIP Foot Spa, do not pay ahead, and manage your expectations. Their staff needs serious improvement in punctuality, organization, and customer service.

But was very difficult to understand. I can definitely be OK with heavy accents and other languages. That's not what bothered me at all. When we got there, five minutes before our appointment, there was a miscommunication, and she thought we were getting full body massages. Again, it was challenging to communicate, but we finally both understood. Our massages were run-of-the-mill. Nothing exciting or even fantastic. And at $60 for 30 minutes, I expected a ton more. My chiropractor recommended me to get a massage, so I picked JJ being that it had good reviews, and very close to home. $50 for 30min is fair, I think. I requested for my back, shoulders, neck, and arms. The masseuse asked several times if the pressure was ok or too strong (it was perfect) making sure I was getting what I needed. After the massage, I felt very light and relaxed, big relief of tensions from my neck and back, a different type of tension relief compared to chiropractic. I'm going back next month, and ask for 1hr (my back, shoulders, arms, head, legs, and feet). One issue, if anything, is that they have no website, detailing the services and prices. But despite that, I'd still give this place
