    The keyhole was poorly secured

    I've been living here for almost two years, and I have to say the leasing office is not very responsive when it comes to addressing actual problems. On the first day I moved in, my lock was already broken, and i waited almost an hour in the hallway for someone to fix it. It also seems like their staff is poorly organized. I had to call a second time to follow up, repeat the entire situation, and only then did they finally send someone to address the issue. The only time they responded quickly and efficiently was when I asked about renewing my lease, which says a lot about their priorities. Needless to say, I won't be renewing my lease again. Additionally, the garage door in the metal building has broken multiple times recently. The first time it broke, the leasing office just left it open for two straight weeks, despite previous reports of car break in and thefts in the building. The parking situation is extremely frustrating as well. I'm not sure how they assign parking spots, but I have to drive all the way up to my assigned spot and then take the elevator back down to my floor. It's inconvenient, poorly organized, and I'm honestly so over the unnecessary driving. The lack of organization likely explains why some residents are using the guest parking spots near the entrance.

    As a resident in this building even getting your packages delivered into the lockers themselves isn't guaranteed. I have a package currently in the locker system AND I have a code to obtain it. When entering the code it says "please see property staff to get your package" I go get Regina and she tried for all of 2 minutes to help before saying she had a tour to do and would tell John to help. I call leasing office to follow up explaining that while you may have a tour I'm an already paying resident and should be priority. John had no clue about anything. Regina hadn't told him. This isn't the first package to go "missing" here when it's been delivered. This isn't the first time leasing staff has made it clear once you're a resident they no longer care to prioritize anything regarding your residency. This staff in the leasing office is extremely unorganized. There is no security presence here. Don't let them fool you like they did most of us. There is zero guest parking or street parking for your guest. 9 out of 10 times your guest will have to leave due to the no parking ongoing issue many residents are upset with. EV charger in metal building isn't working and they don't care to fix it. Toddlers are allowed in the gym to scream cry and throw fits while you work out. My car was hit and ran by another resident. Apartment itself has had numerous ongoing issues requiring maintenance in my home almost monthly if not many times a month. Apartment is only 5 years old maintenance said. Why does it have so many issues for being fairly new? It's made with the cheapest materials and it shows the way this place is falling apart so quickly. I've had my fridge completely stop working making everything go bad, no elements didn't reimburse me even after providing the requested receipts. Didn't even get a new fridge. Maintenance literally said they brought me a fridge from another unit they had fixed sitting around. Love that for me and my expensive apartment. Can't even have a new fridge. The roof of parking space leaked white paint water onto my black car that elements said they weren't responsible for as well. Had to get it buffed out of my paint job on my own dime. My sink completely exploded underneath leaking everywhere requiring emergency maintenance one night. Toilet has flooded leaving water everywhere. I live alone and am hardly ever home. They blamed all these issues on excessive use. Building leaves legal notices on every units doors way too over to "check" things. There is no accommodation for any of these "checks" hence the legal notice to enter. 3 times in less then a year. Balcony checks water leak checks. And if you have a job and are uncomfortable with people in your home when you're not well guess what? Too bad. Elements's is coming on in regardless of how you feel. Zero accommodation and for a luxury building accommodation is necessary. There is no care or consideration by any means to residents. This building has the highest turnover rate I've ever seen. Everyone I meet here quickly moves and or doesn't renew. Parking garage is extremely unsafe. Cars use excessive speed and will hit you then drive off. If you are looking to feel safe and enjoy a luxurious apartment this is definitely not it. To pay as much as I do and deal with as much as I do this is laughable. $3400+ for a "luxury" one bedroom apartment in the ghetto where me, my car and packages aren't ever safe. This place is the biggest headache. MOVVVVVVINGGGGGGGGGG

When we were apartment hunting, a huge selling point was being told that each leaseholder would get 7 guest parking permits a month. It sounded like a decent plus to the nightmare parking situation (virtually no guest spots or street parking in general; $150/month for an extra parking spot with a year-long waitlist). Instead, we found out the leasing agent completely LIED to us--it's actually 7 permits PER household, not PER person. I know we did not mishear this during the leasing process and that we were explicitly told we would receive 21 permits in total for the 3 leaseholders we had for our unit. When I brought this up, management admitted we were lied to, but they didn't even offer a single solution or credit for the $10-per-pass fee we're now stuck with. It feels like they'll say anything just to get a lease signed. The lack of communication between the office and security is just as frustrating. I've been kicked out of the "24-hour" business center TWICE by security because they weren't told the correct hours. I actually had to email a leasing agent myself and show the security guard the email on my phone just so she'd believe me--and even then, she took a photo of it like she still didn't trust me. It shouldn't be the resident's job to train the building's security on their own amenities! On top of that, we've already had to re-sign our entire lease two months after moving in because the office messed up the numbers on the original documents. While the unit itself is modern and I appreciate the gym and the package lockers, the "unseen"parts of living here are exhausting. The fire alarms go off at 3 AM for no reason, the power has flickered out multiple times, and it took around a week to get a working microwave when ours died. I still have 11 months left on my lease, and I'm genuinely worried about what else was a lie or what else will break. I'm mostly upset that they admitted we were lied to by their agent and took no action to make it right with us. If you're looking to move here, I'd suggest getting every single promise in writing, because their verbal word doesn't seem to be honest. I will keep this updated.

They work hard to maintain and upgrade units. Many have in-unit washer/dryers, and refrigerators are now included as well. What a plus! A few lucky residents have private yards, and everyone enjoys the upgraded pool and gym, as well as a small dog park on the premises. Serena Vista is family and pet-friendly, and many of the residents have lived here for nearly a decade. We stay for a reason. We love it here. The entire property has been newly painted and landscaped recently. SV is secluded from busy streets and freeway-close. It's the best of all worlds!

I initially lived in one of the outer apartments right next to the garages/dumpsters, but moved to an upstairs unit that was in the middle of the complex, Unit J1. Highly recommend both upstairs and middle complex because of the foot traffic and garages opening and closing. The walls are thin, that's just apartment living. Luckily I got one neighbor who was never home and my downstairs neighbor didn't mind my clogging practice. Really convenient having both in unit washer and dryers and multiple laundromats around. I never had an issue if I wanted to wash my duvet, the were never full. They also have a filtered water bottle filling station in the laundromat over by J1. Not sure if they have them in the others in the complex. (you're welcome). Sometimes I drive by just to reminisce on old times. The only small issue I had was with my deposit. When I moved out they tried to charge me for a cleaning fee, but I left my place spotless. Management companies in CA can charge a cleaning fee, but only to restore the unit to the same level of cleanliness it was in at the start of your tenancy. They cant cover "ordinary wear and tear". I ended up getting it refunded no problem, but just something to watch for.
