Preface: Its going to be a long one.
After living at Volar for 3 months my family could not be happier. I realize I may have the rose-colored glasses, but I felt the need to share something positive to counter the negative reviews.
Pros: Windows. They are by far my favorite feature of my apartment. They're so large and allow so much natural lighting to shine through. I never realized how much your living environment impacts your mental health, and something as simple as natural lighting has made a world of difference with mine.
Pros: Appliances. Great quality: refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. They are all new, so we haven't had any issues, rightfully so.
Pros: Central AC. Works like a charm - my wallet doesn't think so.
Pros: Countertops. Quartz and beautiful. Adds to the luxury lifestyle Volar promotes.
Pros: Bathrooms. The master bathroom. I can do a backflip and still have room for the splits. Its so spacious. Not to mention the glass doors for the shower and rain shower head. The unique textiles in the shower make for a beautiful finish.
Pros: Amazon/Mail/Package room. Keeps our mail & delivery safe; with fob only access and cameras just in case monitoring is needed.
Pros: Staff. From the moment we took our tour, to the application process, to maintenance requests, we have always felt welcomed and appreciated. Everything is handled in a timely fashion.
Pros: Resident Portal. You can pay rent using your checking account with no additional charge. Something my old place didn't offer. You can also place maintenance requests through the app. Convenient.
Alright, so here are the cons. Yes, the property is still under construction. BUT, its not really fair to say it's a con because I knew that BEFORE signing my lease.
Amenities: Again, not a con because I knew BEFORE signing my lease the conditions. So, while yes, we are limited with what we have, we are given access to the property down the street (less than .5 miles) to use the following: rooftop pools, insane gym, outside play area for kids, outdoor grass area with a TV that's a mini movie screen (they host watch parties for soccer, NBA finals, baseball, movie nights, etc.) They have a dog park - doggie bathtub included. We have access to work areas, quiet rooms, etc.
Volar did open the conference rooms, lounge area, a show kitchen, free coffee. And, yes, they are making great progress with the pools. I spy every now and then on the 7th floor and it appears to almost be done. Be patient. They told you what to expect. Stop acting like they promised you something different.
The only true Con: My upstairs neighbor. I have named him 'Sir Stomps a lot'. We know when he is sleeping and know when he's awake, and no I'm not Santa Clause. They have heavy feet, and we hear almost everything. Like bro, if you're reading this, just go easy on the stomping. You're at a 10, we need you to bring it down to a 5. Compromise.
Again, not Volar's fault. And, no, I haven't complained because I refuse to be that tenant. If I didn't want to hear my neighbors, I should buy my own house. Its not really that serious, just can be annoying from time to time.
Coming into this complex, you know what you are getting. They are very transparent and don't try and con you into some secret move-in scheme.
It's a beautiful property and we love living here!!
TLDR: Beautiful property. People just suck. read more
