I went to get a dip and tips on a Thursday. By friday evening, 4 of my tips came off. They offered to redo them and them which was very nice. When I left, 3 of my nails were different color than the rest. The lady could clearly tell and she knew I could tell as well. Not sure I'll be going back after the last 2 experiences. read more

Came in last week for a gel manicure. The woman who did my nails nipped 4 of my cuticles too close, with 2 of them bleeding hours later. There was no attempt to apologize or even acknowledge that this happened, much less sanitize or pause the service. I didn't realize the extent of the damage until later or I would've walked out. I was in pain for several days and got my nails done for a special event so this was less than ideal. Also, I specifically asked for them to use alcohol to dehydrate my nails ahead of time as gel polish does tend to peel on my nails without it. Typically with the dehydrator, gel nails last ~3 weeks without peeling for me. It has been 1 week and the edges the polish on 8/10 nails are so lifted that they are catching. I was very disappointed with this service and will not be returning. read more

I requested the basic pedicure, (the cheapest one, didn't need anything fancy) and the lady doing my toes INSISTED on me getting the next service up and made me feel like I didn't have much of a choice. Anyways, everything was going okay until she started painting them. Once she started painting, she stopped and had another lady finish it. They didn't bother to not make it obvious that they were talking about my feet, even going as far as pointing my at my toes while talking and giggling. It made me very uncomfortable, I wanted nothing more than for the pedicure to be over so I could leave. Not a good impression for a first time visit. read more

I came with my friend to get ready for her WEDDING. I never had any problems with this salon until now so I trusted them with this very important occasion. But what happened was-- none of my toe colors were opaque. I can see my natural nails underneath on every one of the toes. I mean... I don't want to say anymore. Make sure you go to your trusted nail tech and stick with him/her. I dig Elegant Nails, because they do dope nails, their massage chairs are awesome, and the atmosphere isn't flooded with audio from random daytime TV. I've been going to Elegant Nails for about three years, and I'm still super-happy with the results. The negatives: It's kinda cluttered, the sanitation is questionable (but whatever), and if you're a chatty person, you might find yourself with someone who doesn't understand what you're saying. Which leads me to.... The positives: If you don't feel like chatting, it's cool. The pedicures are fantasticccc! Salt rubs and hot rocks and leg massages. Just tell them what you want. I went for a pedicure which was decent. Not the best but not awful. The biggest reason I'm giving this place two stars is because almost all of the people working there were wearing masks below their nose. It is truly unacceptable in these covid times where they are serving many people. There are many nail places in the area that follow these protocols so I'm unlikely to come back here. read more

Fastest non-polish pedicure ever. 20 minutes start to finish. I know I was a walk-in appointment but my money is the same as everyone else's. The customer next to me for the same "spa pedicure" as me, and we both had different experiences. The timed massage (5 minutes) was so fast it wasn't very relaxing. And why do they exfoliate AFTER the massage. That caused all of the moisturizing (?) lotion to be washed off. Definitely wasn't worth $30. read more

My friend and I wanted a mini-spa day on Sunday, and Elegant Nails Lounge had fairly good reviews. The Good: - My nails look pretty nice! Christine did my acrylics quickly and they look great! The flower design looks nice as well. - This place is not only very nice looking, it's also very clean. They package up the disposable tools and let you take them home. -The pedicure was very relaxing, Chi did a nice job. -The prices are pretty good. It was $25 for a Spa Pedicure (which includes a 5-minute massage), and $27 for my acrylic full set. The Bad: -Christine hit my cuticles with the nail grinders a couple times while doing my acrylics. They hurt a bit! However, I am aware it is very difficult to grind the entire nail and not hit the skin. But, like I said, it does still hurt this morning. read more

Went to Elegant for a mani/pedi during Covid. They have taken adequate steps to protect themselves and customers, plastic barriers during mani's and pedi's, cleaning chairs with disinfectant between customers. Everything is nice except some of the nail techs were not wearing masks correctly (covering nose and mouth). Although nails look nice, my only issue is they have increased the price of a pedicure and gel manicure to $70. read more

One of the worst gel manicures I have ever over paid for. 35 dollars to have my cuticles nearly dry cut and nails cut far too short. Past my finger which is not what I asked for when I said- barely trim and round shape. They barely have a shape now because they were cut so short. And the gel looks thick and heavy, which means it will likely peel off quickly. I have gotten cheaper manicures with far better results and didn't walk away with dry hands that smelled like chemicals. Will not be going back or wasting anymore money here. read more

I have been to the new Elegant Nails Lounge three times now. My nail technician I've had for over 10 years and I stick with her because she is so good and so careful. Her name is Chi Lu and she has quite the following. Not only was this new Day Spa beautiful inside, but the technicians they have working are very good at what they do and very experienced. If you have not heard of Elegant Nails Lounge yet, you will, and you should give it go. It is fabulous! It is a day spa because they offer more than only nail services. U can also get eyelash extensions as well as a facial or a very comprehensive list of waxing services. The prices are very reasonable, and the facility and pedicure chairs are top notch. This place is better than a lot of the high end spas around town because of the spa like atmosphere. I can't tell you how many top rated spas I've been to in which I came out irritated because of how noisy it was during my pedicure or my massage. I don't want to pay $75 for a massage or $60 for a pedicure and not be able to relax! In my opinion, this is the new place to go. You can't beat the expertise and friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the facility, the top end pedicure chairs, competitive prices and extended services, and the relaxing spa environment. read more

I was looking for a good nail salon when I moved to Champaign and I found it here! I usually get gel manicures and they always turn out great! And they do great work on pedicures. My feet end up feeling as soft as a baby's butt. After pedicures, they give you the tools (file, callus remover) to go home with. I've been here lots of times and they were better when they first opened. I think now that they are getting busier, they are rushing to get people in and out and the quality is suffering. People go to get a pedicure for the experience, not because they can't bear to paint their own nails. Lindsey rushed through everything, didn't even clean up the paint on my skin afterwards. I came here with my best friend who has never gotten acrylics before. We both wanted the same thing and I called ahead to make an appointment. When we got there, we were sat all the way across the room from each other and I had to wait 15 mins for someone while my friend was already a quarter of the way done with her nails. The girl doing my nails put one of the tips on crooked and had to take it off (painful). After we were done and had left, I told my friend about how I think the nails were okay for the money ($32). She looked shocked and said "yours were $32?? They charged me $45!" I had clearly set up the appointment to get the same thing as each other and we told them this when we first got there too. We drove back and explained the difference in price. Apparently they gave her gel nails, which was never asked for and she doesn't know the difference. They did nothing to fix the problem, not even a 10% off coupon or something. It was not a good experience and they clearly didn't care that she was really upset. The work that was done was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. I wouldn't recommend unless you explain what you want 10 times. read more

I thought I would give them another shot but unfortunately I definitely will not return. I have two kids I work full time, and I am trying to get to the gym. With that being said I am normally a walk in. When I came in today I asked how long is the wait for a fill. The manager or boss told me 15 minutes after scanning the room. This worked out for me, so I picked out my color and took a seat. 20 minutes later he came to me and said quote it will be 20 more minutes. I was a bit frustrated because I had been told 15 minutes, and had already waited 20 minutes. Since I had to work I had wasted my time with this nail Salon. Elegant Nails is my go-to place in Chambana to get my nails done. Sometimes they are a little busy, but they've always tried their best to be accommodating. Only once was my party of 3 split up for pedicures, even though I called in advance. Their pricing has gone up in the last year, but I would still say they are good for the money. A no-chip gel manicure usually lasts me 2-3 weeks, and a regular pedicure longer than that. They always ask you if you're satisfied, and if you're picky (like I am), they'll let you be picky during your session(s). read more

I went here to get a French mani/pedi during my pedi, the nail technician was very nice but did not remove all of my old polish, not even close. He proceeded to do the French pedicure but he didn't clean underneath my nail to remove and dirt or lint that was there like other places I have been normally do. So I had a French pedicure where you could see my old polish underneath plus the lint under my toe nail. It looked horrible if not disgusting. I only have 2 stars because they were very friendly. Elegant Nails Lounge was sorely needed in the over-saturated land of nail spas on every corner. The place is meticulously clean-they don't reuse pumice stones or files like everywhere else. All the staff are very polite. I have had quite a few gel manis and as many standard pedis to know that Mimi is one of the best in the house. The only tech I cannot recommend is Kevin, but all the ladies I have had have been quite good and gentle.I only wish they were open on Sundays. read more

I've always liked this busy place and have come often for pedicures. This summer I had 2 manicures from manicurists I hadn't had before. I ended up with a severe and painful INFECTION in my hand, confirmed by the culturing of the pus that was forming under my nail (which showed several types of bacteria). Although you can never know for sure how you got an infection, three medical providers I saw told me the infection was probably due to the manicure because you can never know how well their instruments are sterilized. I will definitely not go back to this place. The doctors also told me to never cut my cuticles (no matter where I get manicures) because they are important in protecting you from any infections. read more
