Ramon and his crew at Elder Auto are THE repair shop we take our cars to. I do most repairs myself, but when I need something done that I can't (or don't want to) do this is where I go. My most recent experience is an example of what you can expect at Elder. My wife's '10 Tahoe was experiencing some cold start issues. Elder diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel pump. I scheduled a time to have it done. They performed the work but the car was still experiencing the same issue (though to a lesser extent). We spoke to Ramon and he had us bring it back in. Apparently the new pump was still within specs, but not performing as it should. He offered to replace the pump again at no charge. No bickering or arguing, just a commitment to making it right. Also note that this is a VERY labor intensive job that involves dropping the fuel tank. Thank you Ramon! I will continue to recommend you to both family and friends. read more

Awesome honest service!!!! I can't say I ine bad thing this place was outstanding! Went here after we got a quote from another mechanic to replace an axle on out sequoIa- this place had the job done in 3 days- and the price was less than half if what the other mechanic had quoted! read more

This place is the absolute BEST!! I have always gotten wonderful service and amazing honesty! They are very straightforward with what is needed and what can wait. They have always been great with pricing especially compared to the competition! Cody is a Rockstar when it comes to what my car needs and the best way to get it!! Thank you Elder Auto! I will ALWAYS recommend you as the best repair shop I've ever used! read more

A friend recommended this auto shop to me and it was the best recommendation I could have asked for. They are quick to help and flexible about getting you in. The mechanic who worked on my car came out to the waiting room and explained what I needed done with a fair price. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Elder Auto! read more

Having to take your car to the shop is a serious unknown - will this be expensive? Will they find more wrong? Is it fixable? But the greatest concern is WILL I BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF?!? I can 100% honestly say I trust Elder Auto. They are always honest and forthcoming with the details of my car. They "dumb it down" to make technical things understandable. They care for my safety. They are more concerned with doing good work and building lifelong customers than making more money by doing unnecessary extra work. There is no pressure. The communication is always good. They work quickly, accommodate us right away. We feel valued and appreciated. We highly recommend Elder and tell everyone about our good experiences. Thank you for your great work, care and service. read more

Have been coming here for years! Very professional and ethical practices. Don't seem to be interested in squeezing money out of me like other businesses. Appreciate their integrity! read more

Excellent, honest, highly knowledgeable and efficient service center. I feel fortunate to have found Elders and would definitely recommend. A+ read more

Had an issue with my transmission and wasn't sure what was going on. They were able to get my truck in and find the solution swiftly. Their communication and speed was AMAZING. The staff was VERY kind and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend to my own family and anyone else looking for the best place to get their car fixed. Could NOT say enough about this place and how great of an experience it was after being so upset about my vehicle. read more

It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust completely. This place is definitely one that you can. They have always taken great care of my vehicles. I have had a few different cars/trucks worked on here and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend! read more

Just picked up my car from Elder and I will never take it anywhere else ever again. Had a traction control light on and they fixed it for $25. Last time I was at a dealership they charged me $150 just to read the code. I'm so happy I found a HONEST and FAIR mechanic. #customerforlife read more

I got in a car accident a month ago and had it fixed at Elder auto based on online reviews. It didn't drive well and was making new noises after the repair. I brought it back for them to check it out and was told the new noises and driving concerns were not a safety issue. After driving more I finally brought my car tO another shop and found out they hadn't tightened bolts on the repair appropriately and they alignment they had supposedly done was way off, and with loose bolts couldn't have been done correctly. While they did the initial repair fast, it wasnt cheap and clearly wasn't done correctly. At least their repairs are under warranty so the other shop could do the repair correctly and not cost me more money. read more

They have serviced my car twice with quickness and integrity. Ask for Cody and he'll take good care of ya!

We have been customers of Elder Auto for over 10 years. We found them when we decided that another shop was potentially over charging and over diagnosing issues. Ramon and his team (Cody, Ken. Angel, etc) always know us, are professional, and only suggest what is needed for your car and your safety. I will never go anywhere else. The pandemic was a squeeze on their labor and ability to get in, but I will never go anywhere else. Seriously, it doesn't matter if you're in SE Denver or CO Springs, check them out. You will not regret your trust in this shop and the team. read more

Elder Auto is the best auto shop in Denver! They are honest, timely and professional. My Acura RDX needed a lot of work done with very little notice (new radiator, new cabin air filter, rear differential fluid changed). They had it done and ready in 25 hours. They also gave a first time client discount making the (already) fair quote much more reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend this shop! read more

I cannot sing the praises of all the workers at Elder Auto Enough. Every employee from the front desk to techs are awesome, professional, and so squared away. My car recently broke down on the side of the road and although the garage was slammed with work, my car was fixed in a timely manner. I have never felt uncomfortable here like they are trying to sell me extra work when I bring in my car. Elder Auto fixes the required problem(s) in the most cost efficient way, and that is it! This is an honest, well run business with amazing folks. During previous scheduled maintenance, I've set the workers hug (greet) some of the clients and now I know why--it feels like a family garage where folks take care of each other the old fashion way--hard, honest work, and respect. Extra bonus: I love the fact that the techs can bring in their dogs (garage). Torque, a blackish rescue dog behind the counter, helps Cody run the front of the house. Nice! read more

Work was scheduled and completed on time. Very friendly staff. Only downside was I had to schedule a couple weeks out.

Elder auto has always been dependable, honest and competitive on price. We trust them so much and they have been fair and informative to help us make decisions around what we should do. They have gone so far as to help us figure out fixes that does not involve them doing the fix and helping us make sure we do the best thing for our car. We love this place and trust them unconditionally! Thank you for the great service. read more

These guys have been nothing short of outstanding. My Subaru needed a lot of work done ( new head gasket, timing belt, water pump and all). Excellent quote and had it done in a couple of days. 6 months later, it starting leaking oil and they said it was the valve cover gaskets which were replaced with their previous work. Must have been a faulty part..they replaced it with no questions asked. I cannot say enough about how great this business is. read more

My favorite shop in Denver! I have taken my car here for years now and have never had a bad experience. They are honest people who give you straightforward recommendations. You can't go wrong with this place! read more

He gave me a bill that was 3 times what he quoted then got very defensive when I questioned it. Very unprofessional about the situation. I will not be going back. read more

Gotta say... high marks for this company! Honest service and reasonable labor and parts costs. Great local business to support!

When I moved to Denver 5 years ago as a single mom with an older car I felt overwhelmed. My car needed repairs and I googled "best car repair in Denver" and found Elder. They have been outstanding in all areas of service, repair, professionalism and courtesy. Recently I received a free courtesy check-up and Jared couldn't have been nicer, along with Angel at the front desk. They have given me honest, reliable service along with a few free perks - they are absolutely the best car service I have experienced and I would highly recommend them. read more

Incredibly helpful and HONEST! The Audi dealership communicated that I needed my brakes replaced, and Elder Auto squeezed me into their very busy schedule to give it a second look. They confirmed that I in fact do NOT need new brakes, didn't charge me for their time and warned me of recent upticks in unnecessary service charges by local service providers and dealerships. I'm usually skeptical to take my car anywhere but the dealership, but they demonstrated solid knowledge of my Audi and went above and beyond to be helpful. They have my business moving forward! read more

Wanted to give a shout out to Craig, the Elder driver. Thanks for the ride to and from the shop. Clean vehicle and Craig is very nice.

I can't recommend this place enough! Very caring and honest mechanics! After waiting 10yrs for some craptastic towing company, I showed up to their shop in my worst mood ever and expected to be robbed with the nickel and diming that most shops do. Quite the opposite. They diagnosed my problem as something completely different than I expected, but they didn't rip me off. In fact, they went the extra mile and did extra work for no extra charge, plus gave me a discount. I'm cheap and Asian, so I did my research on cost of parts and repairs and they hit the mark on what was reasonable. My car runs like a champ! Ramon dealt with me personally and assured me if I had any problems, that he would take care of it. He even lived up to the scrutiny of my coworker who has a mechanic for a dad. She's even bringing her truck in next week if her dad can't fix it. Despite missing my scheduled appointments with them due to towing issues, they had my car up and running within a few hours. I'm now recommending them to everyone I know with car issues. Thanks for the good work and honest pricing! read more

I trusted Yelp to find a good mechanic, and Yelp came through. My car was turning right all on its own, and oddly enough, I didn't want to turn right all the time. So, I needed a front end alignment ASAP. Luckily, Elder had an opening that afternoon. The price was exactly what they quoted, and very reasonable. They also game me suggestions on another repair I could do, but were honest enough to state that it was not imperative at that moment, and may never become an issue. It was just something to keep an eye on. All done, in the time they told me, no price surprises, no added drama, just great people taking care of me honestly. What more can you ask for from a mechanic?? read more

I am a student, and I also don't believe in car payments, so I am always trying to find reasonable, honest mechanics to service my car, a gas-guzzling 1995 Suburu Legacy (which is waaaayyy past its prime, and needs to be replaced, but I just can't right now). Normally, I never go back to the same mechanic, because I feel as if I've been ripped off, or I feel like I'm being "upsold", "Why of course your engine REQUIRES the $80 oil change!". I dunno, maybe it's because they see a lone female, and therefore an easy $$ target? Anyway, this is not the case with Elder Auto. A friend recommended Elder when my car started randomly smoking last year, then finally stopped working. Ramon and his crew are friendly, professional, and ethical. Last year, I dropped over $1000 on the repair of my car engine (NOT a small sum for me!), and Ramon pretty much told me that the work the guy did ruined my engine. I wanted to cry right there on the spot, but Ramon assured me he could fix my car, and he did, and the price was more than reasonable! I am FOREVER grateful for them. It's just nice to be dealt with fairly, and not seen as some sort of $$ target. GET your car to these guys! This garage is more than fair, and very competent. read more

I am lucky enough to have found a reliable, honest mechanic shop here in Denver. They were referred to me by a customer of mine at Starbucks. I have had a few repairs done there and they always let me know what I need to get done and what can wait. They are not trying to hustle me. When my car died in the middle of the winter and needed a new transmission they really helped me out. They bought my old car and looked at the new car I was going to buy. Once, I even locked my keys in my car in the Target parking lot. I don't have AAA, so I was a wee bit panicked. I called Elder Auto and begged them to help me out however they could. They sent one of the guys over and he tried every way possible to get into the car for 20 minutes. They didn't charge me and were very happy to help. I dropped a Starbucks card by the shop for the guy who helped me out. This shop know that great customer relations and honest work are the way to be successful. You can really trust them. read more

On a return trip, Vail-Chicago, I was having some car concerns. I phoned Elder Auto ("El Dorado," haha, clever~) from the road and inquired about their afternoon. I was told they were pretty swamped, but that they'd do their best to squeeze me in, I just may have to wait for awhile. **This is important to keep in mind - I willingly went to Elder Auto, expecting a wait, with no guarantee that I'd be serviced that day. As I waited in the lobby, I was surrounded by other friendly customers, coming and going; I was offered a variety of beverages and coffee from the always-smiling staff; I was offered some lunch (Pizza for the staff) when it arrived -- and when I declined, they insisted with a smile. =) AND TO TOP IT OFF, after a few hours of comfortably waiting in the lobby, with a book and my iPhone, I was still given a modest discount, as a courteous gesture, for the waiting that I *knew* I'd be doing when I brought in my car. The store manager approached me with my car's diagnosis - he was frank, honest, and broke it all down in a way I could understand. He illustrated which repairs were necessary, and which were not, based on my car and itinerary. It was very clear to me that customer satisfaction and ETHICS were a monstrously bigger priority than just making a quick buck. I've never been more impressed by a garage, or its staff. I've already recommended Elder Auto to every Denver resident that I know, and will continue to do so. **THANK YOU** So, so much. read more

The summary: I will never go there again, though Ken is really nice. I had to take my car back multiple times, ante'd up $700 throughout the process, still had problems with my car, and had weeks of headache from their mechanic running my car into a wall. And got an early morning phone call to be yelled at. The story: I found elder auto on Yelp and it seemed like they'd be good. I took my car in there to take a look at it and replace the radiator. They replaced the radiator for something in the $500 range. But, when I received the call saying they were done replacing it, they also informed me that one of their mechanic's had run my car into a wall. There was a foot long gouge in the side of my car, that went straight through the body. The gas cover would no longer close. It was a mess. They said they would either have their body guy fix it for me, or reimburse me $100. $100???? There's no way $100 covers the damage. OK, so I decided to see what their body guy would do, because I really had no choice but to let them fix it. More days in the shop. A week later, I'm using my car, and it won't start. I had to get it towed, and I made the mistake of having it towed back to Elder Auto. They said that it needed a new starter, because the starter was broken. Funny timing -- the starter was fine before I took it in to them. So I go in to pick up the car. When I walk out I ask the lady at the front desk how much I owe. "Nothing. You're all good." So I asked if she was sure? "Yep. You're all squared away." OK, great, so they decided to comp the starter for me. That was nice of them. NOPE. A week later, I'm still having issues with my car starting. At this point I know I'm not going back to Elder Auto. Around then, I get a call from Ken saying they screwed up and I owe the money. I say yeah, I'll pay, but by the way stuff still doesn't work. He says he's sorry etc. Well, I forgot to bring the car in the next week and to pay. Then, after a week of not hearing from them, I figure they decided to just drop it, since I'd already had a terrible experience. Fast forward to ~2 months later. A guy wakes me up in the morning with a call to tell me I owe elder auto money. Sigh, I was hoping they just dropped it -- but yeah, OK, I say I'll call him in an hour when I wake up and get it squared away. The guy Yells at me. Straight up yells at me about it. Anyways, I call back in an hour and pay another $190. I ended up going to another shop which fixed my car up just fine -- without running it into a wall. read more

I made an appointment online (very convenient) for a Monday morning oil change (on the previous Friday morning), as Elder Auto is closed on weekends. I showed up right at my 0730 appointment time, and waited for a little over an hour for my oil change to get done. There was absolutely no parking in the lot (I managed to snag a space as a car was being moved), and no nearby parking on the street. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, and not pushy about other problems your car might have. I didn't sign or see an estimate upon checking my car in, and wasn't made aware of the price until checkout. The cost of getting my 05 Civic Hybrid's oil change was $65, after a $10 discount. I've never paid that much for an oil change ANYWHERE. While they did use the manufacturer's recommended grade of oil (many places do not), anything much more than $40 is too much IMO. The breakdown was $18 for oil change labor $44 for the Mobil1 0W-20 oil $7 for the Napa oil filter $3 shop supplies $3 tax/whatever else. I might give them another shot with my other vehicle, but I'll try somewhere else before I think of going back there to have my hybrid's oil changed, it was just too expensive. read more

I've been coming here for the past 2 years and they are top notch! I've brought my car to mechanics before who have recommended non necessary work to make money and these mechanics are not like that in the least! They take the time to explain what they recommend and don't try to make a sale. If they take longer it expected or whatever, they'll make it right with you. I trust this shop with my car fully and look forward to their advice. Not many shops are as honest, caring and trustworthy as Elder Auto. I recommend them to everyone I know. Keep up the good work! read more

I'm really looking forward to writing a 5-star review on this place in the future. I came upon Elder Auto from a friend when I had my car had issues after two visits and $1500 worth of work from another mechanic which will be unnamed but their initials are B P. I explained the issues I was having and I actually felt like someone was being honest and compassionate about my situation. I ended up having them do an oil change in addition to the assessment of the issues I was having. Not only did they provide an accurate assessment, they did tell me about the cause of an A/C issue I was having that the other mechanic couldn't/didn't. They also provided important maintenance recommendations that the other place didn't. I really prefer proactive concern rather than feeling like I have a saboteur working on my car. To be honest, I went for cheap previously and I guess you get what you pay for. The quotes I got from Elder for the labor part were significantly more expensive than my previous place, but I have confidence that things will be done right when I go back. read more

I wish I could give these guys 1000 stars. I've been going to then for years. As a female with minimal auto knowledge, I used to find myself in precarious situations with mechanics where they would try and convince me I needed a bunch of stuff I did not. There is a reason these guys are always slammed with customers. They are the only mechanics in the state I trust, are extremely honest, knowledgeable, and overall just wonderful people. Everytime I compare other mechanics that are closer to my house they are at least twice the price, always try and upsell me on unnecessary things, and overcharge me. I drive an extra 15 min just to take my car to their shop for this reason! I have recommended them to every one of my friends. read more

I'll just share my experience and let it speak for itself as everyone else has already loaded up the praise for these guys. My old pick up needed front end work + replacing a noisy steering pump. They got if fixed fast and were honest and thorough in describing the work. Hell, they even walked me over to my car when it was ready! The price of the work was reasonable + they added a little discount for first time customer. As I was headed up the mountain, I started hearing a strange noise and had to pull over. It seems power steering fluid was leaking out all over the place. I called them immediately and headed right back down the mountain and straight back to their shop. Needless to say, I was not happy. After taking the truck in straight away, they determined that a pressure hose had sprung a leak and they had one shipped to the shop and repaired everything within a couple of hours. They came out and talked to me about it and apologized and told me they would cover the cost. I went on my way. That is good, honest service that was "beyond expectations"! These guys aren't stupid. They want your business and your loyalty and will go out of their way for you. I recommend them for anyone who is looking to have work done on a domestic car. Thanks Ramon! read more

My family and I have been taking our cars to Elder Auto for almost 20 years. I have yet to be at the new location (thankfully my car hasn't been sick yet, knock on wood) but my dad said great things about it. Ramon is a great guy and runs his business well. He takes care of his customers like family and is honest with you about prices and labor costs. Ramon will call and tell me exactly what is wrong and what costs what. He will also let me know if he sees something else I might have an issue with down the line and at what point he thinks it will need to be fixed. Unlike other shops, Elder Auto does not talk down to female customers or try to up-sell you because they think you won't know the difference. Even though the location has never been ideal in comparison to my home, I will still commute my cars to Elder Auto. Their service and honesty is worth the drive. read more

Being new to Denver and in need of a major tune up, I relied on Yelp to find one for me, and of course you guys came through. I had a first rate experience with Elder auto. I had to have some work done on my Audi. A heater core replacement. Turns out it was mostly labor, so my service advisor wisely pointed out we should use the best parts available so as to avoid reoccurring cost. The work was done perfectly. I can't tell anything was taken out or reinstalled. It was just that cleanly done. I also had to replace some headlamps. I had bought an aftermarket set, and they got them to work perfectly. read more
