elder auto is awesome! as other reviewers have said, there are very honest. will tell you exactly what's going on even if you're someone who doesn't know much about cars. i took my car there to get an estimate after getting a few other estimates, and their price was much lower. the work was done very quickly, and they updated me on their progress often. i had another problem recently and went back to them. they checked it out, and offered a solution from another company, and didn't even charge me for analyzing the problem! overall: very nice employees, great prices, quick work...just great service overall! thanks elder auto! read more

After skidding off an icy patch of C-470 into a ditch in a heartstopping moment, I resolved to make sure my car was in tiptop winter shape. First stop, brand new tires. Second stop, make sure my tires were aligned correctly, leading me to Elder Auto. They were super friendly from the get go. I felt bad about using their shuttle service without realizing just how far my place is from them, but the driver was very nice and assured me several times that it was okay. Ended up taking my car here due to it being close, and the drivability of my car vs the curb was weak. I happen to know a lot about cars, and what parts cost, labor time, etc.. I really didn't care what the parts cost, due to my insurance company being involved. But if they weren't that would of been a different story. The staff is very friendly, and they do know what they are doing. As far as an awesome shop, not so much. Just an average shop, and charges average labor prices with typical mark up. Be prepared to receive a phone call from the owner if he doesn't like what you write. read more

Elder Auto is my #1 mechanic recommendation for Denver! I brought my car in for strut replacements. I had it checked out previously at another place and Elder Auto quoted me less for the repair. I've had consistently great experiences with them so I opted to go to Elder (not just for the money savings!) During this visit, they were very kind to me at all points and kept me up to date throughout the date. Craig, their driver, got me to work right away after dropping my car off - and he was so friendly. Gerard, who was my point of contact during the repair was incredible. He was super accommodating to my schedule and made sure I had the car ready to go so I could pick up my son from daycare in time. He was able to save me some money by finding less expensive parts and then he worked with my warranty company to help me save $700 on my repair!! (The shop I went to previously informed me that the repair wasn't covered under my warranty). Gerard was so friendly and kind as well, he was great with his customer service. I think he went above and beyond connecting with the warranty company. He explained my repairs and options to me in a way that I could understand and didn't pressure me into anything extra. Before this visit, My husband also had great experience with them a few months before. My husband went in to get a funny noise of our car checked out, and he ended up waiting a little longer that he'd like to be seen. Having noticed that he was still waiting, the owner ended up approaching him in the waiting area asking if his car had been seen yet and upon hearing that it had not, he personally took it for a test drive. Been going to Elder for several years now so this review is a little overdue. Originally I was looking for an alternative to the Toyota dealership I had been going to for basic maintenance work when I caught the dealership in a lie, trying to rip me off. Enter Ramon & Elder Auto. After stopping by to check out the place and talking with Ramon for a bit, I felt comfortable having them do some work on my vehicle. Fast forward a few years and now they do all the maintenance on both my truck and my wife's car. Everyone here is very friendly, the service is very good and most importantly - I feel like I get a honest answer whenever I have questions. My last visit sums all of that up - I made an appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation on my wife's Rav4. Took them about an hour or so and Ramon calls me to let me know the car is ready. As I'm talking to him at the counter and getting ready to pay I realize there's been some confusion and they've done the oil change and an tire alignment. I tell Ramon I didn't ask for the alignment. Not only does he immediately get the car back in to get the tire rotation done, but he doesn't charge me for either the alignment or rotation - just the oil change! Please, Believe the good reviews and trust these guys to do the right thing for you and your car. I had neglected all of the electrical problems in my 13 year old Tahoe for years. I pretty much delayed until I was driving blind; no speedometer, no 4 wheel drive, no dummy lights, no turn signal, no gas? I don't know, the gas gauge is out too! The car was also driving like a turd as I had not had an alignment done since.....uh, never. So, I finally overcame my my fear of slapping down thousands of dollars to whomever at whatever garage, and decide to give Elder a shot. Freakin' rock stars. Ken was great and explained everything that was wrong in detail. To my surprise the car is in great shape considering the age and mileage. I was ready to give up and trade the car in but it has been reborn. All electrical bugs are fixed and the car is driving like new. Unbelievable. Thanks Elder for making me feel like an idiot for not bringing it to you sooner! All of our family cars are now going to be serviced at Elder. Did I mention the location kinda sucks? Evans is a war zone. I took the bus from work to pick up the car and had to walk along Evans and thought I was gonna die. I was in Denver from out of town and noticed my car had been making an increasingly obnoxious squealing noise. They were able to squeeze me in and checked it out right away. They were not patronizing at all like some places. They checked it out and told me to come see what was up. They actually brought me into the back while my car was lifted up and showed me exactly what they found. Not only was it something small and easy to fix but they fixed it in front of me. They could easily have lied and said it was something bigger and charged an arm and a leg. Instead they let me see the problem. let me watch them fix it and didn't charge me at all. I took my 2006 Lancer to the good folk at Elder Auto for a full inspection and oil change. They did the necessary repairs and gave me a ride to work all the way in Lakewood! When I came to pick up the car, the staff realized I had been charged for a belt that I didn't end up needing and adjusted my bill accordingly before I paid. I would never have known, but this family business obviously takes their reputation seriously. And their reputation is very well earned. I have found my new car shop! read more

This place is the exact opposite of what you always worry about with auto repair. I was having odd lights flashing in my car after several minutes of driving, but no codes ever came up. I called after seeing reviews online, i spoke with the owner Ramon and he said i could stop by on my lunch break and he would try to pull some codes. On the way i noticed both my tail lights were out. He took the car for about 15 minutes, changed both bulbs, ran for codes and had me out the door in under 20 minutes. He refused to let me pay labor and only charged me $6 for the new lights. Other places i called said they would charge $80-150 bucks just to look at it and it would take days. This place knows how to treat people and ensure return business. the next time i am in need i will return to Elder Auto, i suggest you do the same! read more

Tried Elder Auto for the first time for 60K-mile service on my Subaru due to a friend's recommendation. I made an appointment the day before, and left my car with them that morning. They offered a ride to work but I instead did the 10 minute walk to the Colorado Boulevard light rail station. They called to confirm the work and advise of two things I should be aware of and consider replacing (no hard sell at all). Work was promptly completed for slightly less than estimated, and car runs fine. The best part--this service is the same as what I had done by another shop at 30K miles.
