Absolutely not. I wanted something low maintenance, low water, and something that still added curb appeal to our home. After researching a lot of landscaping companies, I finally came across Growscapes OC. Joe came out to give us an estimate, and while I was speaking with him I could tell he had a vision for our redesigned lawn. I relied a lot on his expertise because I wasn't 100% sure what I even wanted. Soon I had a quote (which seemed reasonable enough to me), and a mockup to give us an idea of what the new space could look like. Soon the project began. The crew was courteous and professional. Everything was well communicated. After 5 days our new front yard came to life - from dead grass to desert garden. Immediately we were getting compliments from our neighbors. The house now looks so much more inviting because of Growscapes OC. Thanks Joe and your team!

Growscapes is a scam company. I would give them a negative star rating if I could. It has taken me…read morea long time to write this review because I get so angry. They took total advantage because we're elderly and know nothing about plants. We just took out the $3000.00 worth of shit They sold us. 1) they sold us tropical even though I said they wouldn't work because our backyard gets too much direct sun and heat. Anthony assured me that didn't matter. All that mattered was water. They ALL died within a few months 2) I was told the drip system they installed could be adjusted for each plant to get more or less water. Not true 3) I explained the dirt they were planting in was old and depleted. I was told the dirt didn't matter. They did not treat the dirt or even fertilize what they planted. 4) the drip system they put in had a control that it has a 300 page online manual. Even their installer didn't know how to set it up and was unable to explain it to me. YET he told me it needed to be updated every 6 months when we changed the batteries. Of course we were not told about this requirement until instalation was completed. As I said earlier we are elderly! I asked for a simpler timer and they said there was no option. 5) they are NOT woman owned and operated. Yes, the scamming husband put the company in his wife's name for tax purposes but she CLEARLY knows nothing about plants or landscaping. When I had them come out to see the dead plants she never spoke. Her husband and Anthony did all the arguing and yelling and put all the blame on us. I have never experienced such lack of professionalism in any service industry. All I asked for, and still feel we are entitled to, is a refund. The dead plants have been removed, the inadequate drip system has been removed, and we are starting over. I was duped by a morally bankrupt company. Don't be fooled by the fake reviews on their web page! They have no place to leave a review on their web page and they aren't here so where did those reviews come from?? THEY ARE SCAMMERS! BE WARNED!

From the beginning, Foster was responsive, professional, and incredibly patient. He took the time to thoroughly evaluate our property, answered every question we had, and provided a detailed plan that gave us complete confidence in moving forward. Once the project began, Julio and his crew were exceptional. Julio was on site every day, kept us informed throughout the process, and his attention to detail was second to none. Early in the project, he even identified a previously unknown leak on our property that could have easily gone unnoticed and made sure it was addressed. What stood out most was the level of care the entire team put into their work. They weren't just completing a project. They were making sure it was done correctly and built to protect our home for years to come. Thank you to Shanese, Foster, Julio, and the entire team at Professional Drainage Experts. We couldn't be happier with the results and would recommend them without hesitation.

Which of course that never happened. At which point I'd already taken the day off work and waited for them to arrive at 8AM which never happened. I get they said it was because they were very busy but at least set my expectations of that - don't promise I'll be contacted to arrange a time multiple times, give me a time, not show up and then tell me you're booked for several more weeks. Just really poor communication and I'm glad this happened now rather than if I needed something from them after they did work.

OC Sprinkler Doctor - Drip line

I chose OC Sprinkler Doctor because they are a local Fullerton company with outstanding Yelp…read morereviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those reviews. My impression is that they handle basic sprinkler repairs, but I would not recommend them for irrigation problems involving electrical diagnostics. The work was expensive, the original problem was never fixed, and follow-up was poor. I hired them to address three issues: an "over current" error on one irrigation zone, a missing sprinkler head on a hillside, and uneven lawn coverage. They were initially responsive and scheduled the work within a week. During a half-day visit they replaced a valve they said was cracked, installed the missing sprinkler head, relocated several sprinklers, and upgraded some sprinkler heads. The cost was about $1,600. I was told the work was guaranteed for one year, but I never received a written receipt. Within days, the "over current" error returned. After repeated calls, texts, and emails over the next month, I finally received an automated appointment confirmation for a return visit. At the follow-up, the technician took only a brief look at the valve, searched Google on his phone, and suggested I simply let the solenoid burn out and replace it when needed. No testing was done at the controller or valve, the wiring was not traced or tested, and no diagnostic tools were used to locate the short. Instead, I was offered a quote for a $1,000 wire replacement. For me, the combination of high cost, an unresolved problem, and poor follow-up outweighed the quality of the basic sprinkler work.

The first visit cost $1,133 and covered the initial setup and repairs to both my front and back yard sprinkler systems. They did a good job and I was happy with the results. I brought them back a second time for $1,716 to handle wiring, fix some broken sprinkler components in the front yard, and extend the system to cover additional areas. The wiring of both the front and back systems was done perfectly, and I appreciated that part of the work. That said, if you have fruit trees or citrus in your yard, be aware that they do not have the expertise to handle specialized watering needs for those plants. The sprinklers near my fruit trees were set up incorrectly, and a professional arborist I later consulted told me the configuration would overwater the trees. I called OC Sprinkler Doctor to come back and fix the issue, but they never returned my call. Now I am in a position where I will need to hire a professional arborist who also can do landscaping to come back and fix the sprinkler system again, likely at a cost of $3,000 or more, when I am able to afford it. They are reasonably priced and capable of handling standard sprinkler lawn work, but the lack of specialized knowledge around vegetables, fruit trees and citrus trees, combined with the complete silence when I tried to get the issue resolved, may end up costing me far more in the end.
