Mani was fantastic! The sprinkler system at our new place had not been serviced in years, and he did an incredibly thorough job checking each sprinkler head, cleaning each one out, replacing them, re-aiming them, hunting down hidden sprinkler valves, and removing the old busted controller and installing a new Rachio. But all of that wasn't even the best part of his work. When it came time to set up the Rachio, I originally thought "well i can just do this myself later." But he offered to talk me through each step, which turned out to be GREAT, because i had no idea if our soil was "loamy sand" or "silty loam", or how many minutes to water different areas, etc. Mani went way above and beyond, and really cared about every detail, including making the finished work look neat and tidy, and making sure the system works properly. This review is a bit overdue. I had my drip irrigation installed by SoCal Sprinkler back in April. They showed up on time, were efficient and delivered on the job we agreed to. I was a satisfied customer. I recently had a brief power outage which reset my sprinkler timer and I wasn't sure if I had reset it properly so I called Mani for help. When I went to fix a slowly leaking sprinkler valve on my new-to-me house's irrigation system, I was quite annoyed to find that I couldn't find a shutoff valve for said system. Mani came out & helped me to find the shutoff, or more accurately the buried remains of a rusted out shutoff. Mani was great - I had sprinklers that didn't work and an animal chewed through my drip system. He was able to quickly assess that I have a broken underground pipe and quote me a very reasonable price. Upon trying to fix it, he found out that the pipe was also broken underneath concrete, and it was shoddily done by the previous owner. He gave me options: 1) it will take 3-4 hours to fix the pipe that feeds a tiny section of my yard, or 2) hand water an area less than 5 sq ft. I decided to just fix everything despite it not being economical (which Mani also prefaced). Despite fixing most of my issues, Mani didn't take payment of the day's work, and came back the next day to fix the pipe under concrete. Well, it ended up only taking less than 2 hours to fix, and Mani gave me a final price that was much cheaper than originally quoted. So overall, I give Mani 5 stars for being honest, fair, trustworthy (and also in trusting me - I've heard clients stiff workers) and more than reasonable in price. Thanks Mani! read more

It is unfortunate that I am writing this review as we have worked with Mani on several occasions (mostly sprinkler related) and they went well. However, the last time he did a job for us we were sorely disappointed. We hired Mani and his team to redo our grass in the backyard. After the grass was sprayed down, I had to constantly reach out to see when and what the next steps were. When the grass was replanted we paid and that was the last time I heard from Mani. I reached out telling him some areas weren't growing in at all, he sent out a guy that threw some seed at it and that was it. No follow up, no hey how are things, no check up to see if his work is done well. Our grass turned out terribly! 2 different kinds of seeds were planted ( no idea why), multiple spots where nothing grew in at all, some areas over planted where the grass was so thick it would lift the soil). My last message I asked Mani to come and fix the mess, Mani completely ignored and never came out or responded. I am disappointed we have to pay to do it again and that I recommend him to others in the neighborhood. Regardless of how busy things get sometimes, I think there is a responsibility to follow through on the job you took and got paid for. read more

One of our super old sprinkler valves finally gave way and sprung a leak on a Sunday. We had to shut off our main water since no sprinkler shutoff valve. I called Mani and he was able to come out first thing on Monday. He quickly assessed and gave me a set fee for new valve replacements with an optional upgrade for a relief valve. By the way, he also discovered our old shutoff valve buried 12 inches underground. What a mess. He cleaned it all up, put in new valves (above ground!) in an orderly fashion and it all looks and works great. He worked his rear end off for hours and his price was more than worth it! Every time our sprinkler turns off, there's a significant water hammer sound in our home. My research online suggested that I needed a water hammer arrestor, and I asked Mani to install one for me. When Mani came by, he first inspected the sprinkler system to assess what were the potential causes of the water hammer. He also explained how the main water line in the home connected to the sprinkler system, and why the water hammer sound was loudest above my garage. He offered several solutions, one being installing a water hammer arrester, and another being replacing the sprinkler system with a slow-drip system. I decided with the former since that's a cheaper and much smaller project. Mani had a typical irrigation water hammer arrestor prepared and installed that fairly quickly. However, upon testing it, it did not resolve the water hammer sound. Just in case, I had prepared ahead of time a much bigger water hammer arrestor (based on online recs), and Mani was open to trying it. Viola - it worked! I am writing this review as a frustrated previous customer of Mani. He installed sod and sprinklers for our front lawn and then our parkway. I have tried getting him to come back to do some additional work repairing some sod sections and fixing some of the sprinklers that are too low and angled wrong resulting in areas that are not getting watered. I originally contacted him a year ago now about this and he was difficult to get ahold of at the time. I sent pictures then he said he would come out which took him 2 months to finally come out. He said he would give a quote for this work as well as my next door neighbors work. It took a week to get the quote but never gave my neighbor one. He said he come out the next week and then he has not returned any call or text from me or my wife since then. We have tried so many times to get in touch with him. I am very upset with him ghosting us on coming out to do the work and correct the problems we have from his original work. There is no excuse for that. He used to care about his reviews but. I think he has enough good reviews now that he doesn't care anymore about following through with people and taking care of previous customers.
