He didn't come but then told my husband he would be there at 1:00. NO SHOW! Then he said something came up can I come Monday. And..... NO SHOW again. Very Disappointed with my experience with this company. There are some issues with the irrigation system on my front lawn. Some of the sprinkler heads would not pop up or spray properly, and some had very low water pressure. I contacted Mike. He came out, evaluated the system, and gave me a quote to repair all the sprinkler heads in the front yard. He then sent workers on Saturday to do the repairs. However, the next day when I checked the system, I discovered that one of the sprinkler heads was leaking. I recorded a video and sent it to Mike, asking him to confirm whether the leak was coming from the base of the sprinkler head and whether it needed to be replaced. Mike replied "yes," and said he would come the following week. Two weeks passed and no one ever showed up. I had to contact him again. He then messaged me saying he would charge an additional $80. I explained to him over the phone that this was part of the front yard, which was included in the original quote. His quote clearly stated that all sprinkler heads in the front yard would be repaired. It was his workers who failed to identify this issue. I told him that if he came out and it turned out not to be part of the front-yard repairs, I would pay the $80. He promised over the phone that he would come the following Monday. Several weeks have passed, and he has never shown up. I am now considering going to court. This is not about the money -- companies like this should be held accountable and should not continue to deceive other people in the community. The reason I chose this company was because their office is close to my home, and I didn't want other companies to drive a long distance just to provide a free evaluation before I even hired them. If I had seen all the negative reviews and complaints on Yelp earlier, I would never have chosen this company. He verbally promised a three-month warranty, but he never sent me my receipt or warranty....now I know why! read more

They installed a brand new one. * Did not give me a written contract * tried to charge me a different price than I was quoted * installed a sprinkler system that was too large for my space * used tubing instead of PVC pipe that was already there * used some no-name brand of nozzles * on the receipt, it says "2 years warranty parts and labor." An animal destroyed our irrigation system, and I needed someone to come out and repair it quickly. I called Top Notch Irrigation and was greeted warmly by the person who answered the phone. Mike came out the very next day and gave me a free estimate which initially I thought was a little expensive. However, once I reviewed what I paid for my entire irrigation system, when I had it installed, their price was a bargain by comparison. Mike and his crew at Top Notch did a great job on our backyard in Nellie Gail. I was a little hesitant at first, as we hired them right before Christmas and during big downpour of rain. My grass is beautiful, the app that they hooked up all our sprinklers on is mesmerizing! Their knowledge of us getting our own lawnmower to not have mixed grass seeds from others yards has my husband mowing our yard again!! They put all our "yard art" back and spent many hours supporting me having our stones placed, even helped us to grade our miniature horse pen, was extremely professional. "Top notch irrigation" does not describe the job they do! They DON'T return your calls if you have an issue. Piping was not installed to proper depth. Is was put in above the grass level. I had extremely expensive water bills for months but was told that water bills had gone up for everyone so it was okay. I finally noticed that the watering would start at 8 p.m. and that I had to run out near midnight to turn off the system. The next time I shut it off at 10 p.m. Considering my gardeners had it running for 7 minutes for 6 stations in the front, something was wrong. Mike immediately identified one major cause in my initial phone call to Top Notch, and he came quickly for an on-site assessment. Four hours of watering and yet he showed me that my gardens were dry, and the oranges splitting on the tree was due to the lack of water! He showed me how I was watering for hours but no water was really coming out due to extremely low water pressure, leaks and the wrong types of sprinklers. I was paying so much for a very broken system which had been set by my gardeners to somehow run 5 times in the front and 4 times in the back. The next day, his crew quickly did multiple repairs putting in 3 sets of new valves, fixing leaks, replacing 50 sprinkler heads, changing the type of sprinklers where needed, and reprogramming the system. A control box weren't working properly to stop the watering after one round and needed replacement. Mike is a very knowledgeable professional who was able to quickly assess the issues and showed by demo precisely how my current system wasn't working. He works long hours giving me information on start times early in the a.m. and answering questions after the job beyond hours that most companies would shut down. The front yard now only goes on for 1/2 an hour as opposed to 4 hours. The back required a variety of different times which the gardeners never accounted for. I know my gardens and trees will thrive at a fraction of the former watering costs due to the expertise of Mike and his team. I needed a professional, Top Notch sprinkler company with in-depth knowledge beyond the gardeners who had told me that they'd install and repair my sprinklers when sprinklers aren't their area of expertise. read more

Called and spoke to Mike who was quick to diagnose an issue and send someone to install a new valve for one of my zones. When the issue was not fixed, however, it took several texts and phone calls to get a response. Multiple times it was "I'll try to get there tomorrow" but never got a definitive response or a set time. It seems that quick and easy problems which he can charge $150 to "fix" are great and all, but if something requires any more time and effor than you'll need to call someone else. read more

Got an estimate and scheduled installation with Mike for 9am next day. At 10am next day, still no show, so I called. Mike said "How will noon work?" (no explanation of the mix-up) and I said OK. He arrived promptly at noon. I requested install of a drip system in a section of a zone. Mike installed drip system incorrectly (using polypipe above ground instead of PVC pipe below ground as conduit to remainder of the zone. Also used a riser instead of PVC pipe below ground (WTF??) since he didn't have half inch PVC pipe. See picture below. As expected, the polypipe leaked....the pressure was too high. I pointed this out and Mike replied "what's the difference?". Proper drip system would use PVC below ground with a riser to a pressure regulator and polypipe for the drip. I paid and asked Mike to leave without filling the trenches and I had his install torn out and the installation redone properly the next day (see "done right" picture below). The installer was laughing and shaking his head in disbelief the whole time about the shoddy work. No leaks now. read more

My husband was tired of fiddling with putting extra hoses in the landscape from keeping our plants from dying. He called around to get help and found Top Notch Service. First of all, they always showed up when they told us they would be here. That is so important when you plan your life around the service days. So many other businesses fail at this part of customer service! This company has a great team of professionals working for them. From day one they had a plan and were very diligent about getting all the sprinklers and drip systems installed. They worked a solid week (not weekends) to get all our property done. One day it was in the triple digits on a spring day. They worked right through it. The team had great communication and when I went outside to see their progress they were so wonderful to me explaining what was going on. They even gave me suggestions on how better to get watering in our large pots of flowers and succulents. As a woman I appreciated that gentlemen would make sure my garage doors were shut when they left each day. Now that they are all finished we have an app on our phones so we can adjust the watering in any area of our landscape. That is pretty cool indeed! Mike's crew came out and did a very sloppy job. Our neighbors had to do some cleanup on their side. Sprinklers did not work correctly and we had to buy new sprinkler heads because they used different sizes, maybe some that were just laying around. They added new grass and because the sprinklers didn't work properly, the grass was too wet and flooded the sidewalk. Called Mike to come back and fix it, but he never showed up. Paid $1950. Our irrigation was connected to the main water line. It started leaking and we had to shut down all of the water. Ug. Called Mike and he got right on it. He really treated it as the emergency it was.
