Chicharron was great. - Arepa: looks like a tortilla, so not the typical thick arepas I'm used to. So felt like I paid $8 just for a tortilla and small block of cheese - Tostones con guacamole: I prefer my tostones to be crispier, but they had great taste. - Cazuela de Mariscos: Great flavor. I put it on top of rice and enjoyed it with the other food, otherwise too heavy/dense on it's own. I didn't enjoy the mussels (I love mussels). They were too gritty.

The name of the restaurant " Con Sabor a Colombia " is the most favorable name for this establishment. Which translates to ; Food with flavor of Colombia. Parking is difficult but manageable. The prices are a bargain for the quality, portion size , experience and freshness.

In my opinion, it's the best Colombian restaurant in Massachusetts. The food is always incredible, and one thing I really appreciate is the consistency. No matter when you go, the flavors are always on point. I've tried almost everything on the menu and honestly love it all, but my absolute favorite is the Bandeja Paisa. The chicharrón is hands down the best around, the rice and beans are always perfectly cooked, and every plate tastes like authentic homemade Colombian food. The service is just as impressive as the food. The owners and the entire staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and make you feel like family every time you walk in. Even when they're busy, the food comes out surprisingly fast. Great food, amazing service, and the kind of atmosphere that keeps you coming back. Without a doubt, El Peñol 2 is one of my top three spots in Massachusetts for Spanish and Colombian cuisine. Highly recommend!

So my bf and I decided to check this place out and even though it has one review, this particular…read moreperson gave it 5 stars so i said... hmm mmaybe its really that good for Chelsea! well lets just say.... its was quite the experience! the place is located on a not so busy side street, across the street from an abandoned cemetery (it looks horrible!) and the building has only one window with bars on it. Now in my head i think, restaurant with no windows...odd but gotta try it anyways. You walk in and there is two doors one to the left one to the right, i suggest you take the one to the left! A couple of tables and a small bar is what you come across when you first step in and wonder, do i sit, do they have waitresses, is this only take out? Bf and i took a table in the center of the little seating area and a guy from the bar with a coat and scarf on came over with take out menus letting us know a waitress will be with us. Looking around i was quite amuse and curious to what i was looking at. At the bar was two girls one looked younger than the other but was being ass grabbed by one of the patrons which i figured was a friend of some sort but who knows. Then i quickly realized that these two girls were the waitresses! Younger girl comes over to say hi and take our order, we ordered two Pepsi's, montanero plate, and two meat tacos. The music was very loud and it seemed that they played the same 4 songs over and over again which was fine cause i enjoyed those songs but it seemed odd as well. The patrons seemed like regulars as they were very friendly with the waitresses as well which seemed odd but hey its a business! Our food came and surprisingly it all looked really good. The montanero's steak could have used some salt and maybe actually served hot, i got my steak room temperature it seemed but i was starving so it didn't matter to me, the beans were good, the rice was good as well but unfortunately the chicharon was dry and old. i will add though that the plantains were super good though and fresh (shocking!). this dish was 12.95, would i pay that again at this place. no i would go to Rincon Lemon in East Boston for the same price and way better quality. My bf's tacos needed salt according to him but there wasn't any shakers to be seen and we didn't feel like asking either as the waitresses seemed "busy" Another odd thing i witnessed while eating my dinner was our waitress was talking to a gentleman and rubbing his back, then noticed a pimple i am guessing and then proceeded to pop it! Gross and just odd but what can you do, apparently it looked ready! As we were waiting for the check we noticed that there was a couple of guys getting ready to start playing live music, which semi started as we were leaving and i am glad we left when we did, it did not sound good at all! For the 23 dollars that the bill was i would not go here again but hey its an experience but you can definitely get way better food in East Boston for the same or a little bit more money minus the zit popping show.

My definite go-to spot for Colombian food at it's finest!…read more When I go there I always order the "montañero", (mountain place) which is a HUGE plate of food with a little bit of everything. Two strips of platano maduro (fried sweet plantains), a long strip of chicharon (fried pork skin), steak, rice, beans and a fried egg on top of it all. All this for about $11. I believe a small house salad may also come as a side, but I can't remember because I was so into the food. To wash it down, I love getting me a "jarrito de naranja" which is an orange soda from Mexico. This place is a family-owned establishment run by the sweet mother and lovely daughter as well as other waitresses. This restaurant by day, bar by night is the place to go to eat some serious Colombian food, or to sit back, relax and drink a cold beer while watching a soccer tournament with other fans or to dance to Spanish music during it's regular bar nights. I give Las Palmas five stars because.... - the calm, inviting environment of the restaurant - the hot, delicious foods with reasonable prices - the extensive menu for all adventurous eaters (soups, salads, appetizers, entrees) to never get bored - the authenticity and genuineness of it all
