They've got some good food here. Their menu is pretty big too so there is quite a bit to choose from. So far everything I have tried here has been good. Last thing I got was the chile verde plate which was awesome. Beans and rice are good, not just normal beans and rice, tasty. Chips and salsa are good too, can be spicy so be aware of which one you dip into. Staff are for the most part attentative and friendly. There have been a few times we get a girl that disappears and forgets to bring stuff without being reminded, but everyone else we have had is good. read more

If this was a rating system strictly on food, I would give it two more stars. The service lacked hospitality, however. I arrived when they just opened, and was told to sit anywhere. With a few other people, we decided to have more elbow room, and sat at the 6-person table. Instead, we were told to move to a 4-person table, so her "manager wouldn't get mad." Again, the place was completely empty, and we weren't going to sit there for more than an hour. It just didn't make any sense. The carne asada burrito was pretty good, but I had to add salsa to it to give it a little more flavor and spice. Salsa was excellent. My wife had the chile verde plate which she said was very good. I had a steak and shrimp burrito that was absolutely inedible. The shrimp portion was ok but the steak was the most gristle and fat and disgusting beef I could have ever imagined. I don't think I would fed that to my dogs. Send it back for some chicken tacos which were okay. We weren't charged for my meal. Credit the waitress for that... Probably won't be back again. read more

It's just o.k.. I grew up on Mexican food (60 years worth) and my standard test for a restaurant is a cheese enchilada and a beef taco. El Toro Bronco's meal was so-so, like it came in a can that fell out of a Cisco food delivery truck. Or that the cooks all came from the same School of Bland. Beans and rice, the same old. Chz enchilada nothing to write home about. Taco just a taco; bland. It's like so many other Mexican resturants around here: they all taste the same. I live in Arizona and I've tried most every well rated Mexican place there, but none of them are as all around good as El Toro. I've been here several times and like it more each time. Everything I've tried tasted very freas and had exceptional flavor. I especially love the cheese dip appetizer and the fresh pico, and my friend went nuts over the adobo dish, I can't recall if it was a taco or quesadilla. I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The chips were good, the salsa had a good bite to it, and the Cadillac margarita was pleasing. I ordered a chicken taco and a cheese enchilada which is usually what I get at all Mexican restaurants. The hard shell taco and enchilada were pretty good. The chicken was tasty and the enchilada was oozing with cheese.The refried beans were a little watery, but the Mexican rice was flavorful. I would definitely go back. read more

This is a pretty cheap way for ok Mexican. The service can be good depending on who you have and the food is good, but FAR from great. The best thing tho is the chips and salsa. I feel the main issue is the amount of choices on the menu is to much and should slim it down and improve on the overall quality of the product. read more

The Chips and salsa were AMAZING!!!!! Main dish was delectable! definitely became an instant out-of-town favorite.

We were promptly greeted at the door and our server came to our table right away. Decor was colorful and lively. We were seated at a table that still had a bit of food on it and the floor was dirty with food and straws. Salsa was flavorful, chips were not greasy. Ok... I am from San Francisco Bay Area and wanted to try a recommended Mexican restaurant. I decided on this place. I only give it two stars because I ordered a Bronco Chimichanga with shredded chicken, but .....I received chicken fajita mix inside of a deep fried chimichanga burrito instead. Maybe the cook had made to much fajita mix... I do not know. To the owner: Fire the cook. He will hurt your business as I am sure you do not know what he is doing to change the menu to suit his work load. Only gook cooks make great restaurants. Bad cooks will kill your business reputation. The waitress service was totally 5 star. I felt very comfortable giving her a nice tip. To the owner. Keep the very nice pleasant waitress. We have been visiting Lompoc for 35 years and in recent years have always dined at El Toro Bronco. The service could not be better. Very friendly and prompt. Every thing we have ordered (and our guests) has been outstanding. We especially recommend a new addition, the Molcajete. It is fantastic. We live in San Diego, two miles from the Border and are used to good Mexican food. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

Restaurant is nice, service is good, drinks are decent. However it never fails that they do not clean their shrimp. I keep hoping they'll get enough complaints to finally start doing it. The 2 times a year that I come here with family for gatherings (would be more if I was more confident in their basic cooking abilities) It's always the same. I won't change to another type of meal because that's what I prefer. It's a shame because the cantina is cute and they have a cool little bar to hang out at..however I never suggest to grab a drink and quick bite here to friends when contemplating where to go in town due to this. The food at this cute little Mexican restaurant is excellent and plentiful. The margaritas are the best in town and reasonably priced. I love the wait stall and bartender, although I have to admit I go there a lot just to be waited on by Celia. At one time it was great and now the owner and the servers have no concern for the customers. This place will close soon and rightfully. Ignorant people should not run a business.
