When it came to the table, my first thought was that this dish was just nachos re-imangined, but I was wrong. It had its own very distinct flavors on a flour tortilla base. Delicious! Turns out, I alone couldn't finish it and ended up taking 1/2 home to enjoy again. And just like traditional pizza, it was just as good (even cold) a second time. Wait time to be seated- minimal. We came here once again for a nice family dinner during the Christmas week. To our luck, Victor R was once again our server; he recognized us immediately and we had a nice chat. He recommended us some new drinks as we told him that we wanted to try something new. He recommended me a drink named "Flecha Margarita" and lemme just tell you; that was the best margarita that I have ever had in Riverside. My husband tried the Mezcal Margarita and that was also pretty good even though I'm not a fan of Mezcal. The food was so good. Came on Christmas Day for brunch and Victor P. was amazing! Made sure our drinks were always full and was extremely kind.

Do not go there! There food is whatever, but the worst thing is I went to a party of 25 and sticks us in the back that was freezing and they could only split our check into 2 tabs but they didn't separate any of the check. They made us figure out who ate what and it was very confusing. We spent well over 1000$ between the 2 checks and they couldn't divide it up or help figure out what items were what. So ridiculous. I visited this location on New Years eve, and i have never been so disappointed in the customer service like the one i received that evening. The host by the name either "Margarita or Margaret" was extremely rude. She made us wait 45 minutes although we had a reservation and to top it off when our table was ready she did not walk us to our table but pointed to where we were going to sit from the host stand. Once we got to our table i noticed the floor was covered in food from the party prior so when we asked Margarita/ Margaret if we can PLEASE get this cleaned she stated she only cleans a mess on tables not the floors and wouldn't be able to get anyone to clean it. After this horrible experience i will never return to this location. I really hope El torito better trains their host in their customer service skills and hopefully Margarita/Margaret applies to a job she actually enjoys to ensure she is not rude to more customers. read more

It was a Sunday morning brunch, we were a group of 5 and went to have brunch. We got the brunch buffet which was amazing, we had delicious tacos with hand made tortillas, they had asada, adobada, carnitas, y pollo and they all tasted very yummy. The pastor was a little spicy but good. Our waitress was amazing, shout out to ERICA ! She was very attentive and kind. Which is very rare to come across. 10/10 service was looking out for anything we needed and had our table super clean during a busy time. Service was absolutely terrible. We arrived at 4:30pm to celebrate a family member's college graduation and didn't leave until 8pm. Our waitress couldn't take our drink or food orders well. We were in constant need of refills that weren't given. It took 2 hours for our food to finally come out. 2 of us ordered fajita plates and our waitress didn't bring out our flour tortillas. We had to remind her. By the time we got them, we were almost done with our food. It was way too loud due to the music. The men and women's restrooms were disgusting too. Mess all inside and outside of the toilets. Pee all over the floor-leaving it super sticky when you walk. A lot of stalls didn't have any toilet paper either. Our waitress did a shift change and never introduced us to our new one. Our new waitress never came to check on us. It was an absolute nightmare. Prices are way too high for the horrible quality food. A lot of it tasted like microwaved tv dinners. Some of us couldn't even eat our food, it was that bad. I don't know how they stay in business. Came here for lunch after a funeral last week. We were a party of 12. The service was very good, even though our first server's shift ended about half way through our visit, so we were ultimately taken care of by both people. I made sure to tip both people who served us, the first before she left as her service was flawless and I didn't want her to be shortchanged. She took very good care of us. We started with some drinks, ordered a few appetizers to share, and then ordered the FAMILY STYLE FAJITAS for one side of the table and several entrees to be shared at the other end. It worked out perfectly. The food was excellent and all came out together and got. Good job, ET. I can't believe I didn't take pics of the food. The man who took over as server for our table was just as wonderful as who he replaced. Their combined efforts made our stay a pleasant one, considering the circumstances. Came here for happy hour with a group on a Friday. We called ahead and had patio seating . There was one server for the large group . Another employee came out when it was time to place food on the table , but that was it. When it was time to pay our server informed us that she could only split checks in groups of 3. I ordered the birria tacos off of the HH menu $8 for 3 . It took so long for them to arrive that when they did I had to ask for a box and take them to go. The downside we waited a long time for a party of 5 to be sat when we arrived they had part of the restaurant closed (probably no server for that station). Maybe a little better communication from host. When signed in she told us 10-15 min but it ended up being 40 minutes. Its best to let party know how long it will be and maybe give options. If you like waiting 10 to 15 minutes for your server to greet you if you like long weights for your drink refills and just a horrible experience than this is the place you wanna go. I swear to God if I can give it zero stars, I would I do not know why this place keeps doing this and it's only this El Torito at the Riverside Plaza.We came on at 2:40 pm and sat in the bar, a bench with a two chairs right next to the garage rollup. "Food Poisoning from Hell" Jesus Christ I have never had such a horrible after experience from a "Restaurant" in my entire life. The kitchen inside that restaurant needs to be burned to the ground from the sheer amount of filth I know is in there. The second the food arrived it was instant disgust. I didn't order anything as I already remember how terrible the "food" was last time. I sat there eating the chewy, stale chips while I watched my Family try and consume what slop was presented in front of them. They couldn't even get through the food without making a strange face so they ultimately decided not to finish it (Understandably So). Later that Night my baby brother came out of his room crying as he vomited all over the living room carpet, then continuing to endure this pain for the next several hours. Then my Dad woke up the next morning running into the bathroom and cursing in pain while he too emptied his stomach of the feces tainted salsa still stuck to the interior of his intestines. The sound coming from his throat me want to cry, it was a horrible noise no one should ever have to hear. The worst part about this is I came back into state from my university to celebrate my late Grandmother's Birthday only to come home to my relatives enduring what I imagine as hell. If you are a health inspector reading this, please oh please do something to make this stop. I don't wish this experience on anyone but satan himself. read more

I made a reservation for the Mothers Day Brunch super excited to celebrate my mom. I have been to their regular Sunday Brunch and love it, so I was really looking forward to it. I made the reservation for 1:45 specifically for Mother's Day Brunch and was extremely disappointed when we were refused for the brunch and told we could only eat regular menu. On top of that, the manager was very rude and was not cooperative at all. What made matters worse was my family and I noticed people were sitting down after us and still were able to enjoy the brunch despite us being told we were not able to, and that brunch ends at 1:30. I am writing this review as my family and I are still at the restaurant. It is currently 2:45, and people are still enjoying the brunch. This experience left my family & I feeling very discriminated against. I am not one to write negative reviews, but this was such a horrible experience on such a special day that I feel it is necessary. To make matters worse it is hotter inside the restaurant than it is outside. What makes me most disappointed is I am a regular customer here. Never again. read more

Came here for our anniversary date, It's our favorite place to have good food and drinks. I personally enjoy their Mojito margarita flight! Not a drinker, but these taste great and are shareable as well. Entry time was longer than expected but service from our waiter Sixto, was excellent. We (party of 2) came here just for a small bite and a few drinks, there was not a long wait so we were immediately able to sit at the bar. The bartender was super nice and friendly! I tried the Piña colada & it was delicious!!! We also had their summer special drink I forgot what it was called but that was super refreshing and flavorful.
