We had the most amazing experience and service at el torito. We had Victor Perez as our server and he was exactly what a waiter is supposed to be! read more

Victor Perez was absolutely amazing, if I'm honest I had a rough day. And after the hardships of a day that i went through I wanted to relax. I've Been here before with subpar service, but the happy hour is great so I come back. This all changed with victor, not only was he attentive and courteous, he never rushed us or neglected us even after being here past 2 hours. I look forward to come here again to experience his service again, I recommend asking for him every time if you ever do give this place a shot. read more

I was here at this location a few weeks ago having lunch w a friend. A young Caucasian boy walked in, dressed very nicely, and handed the manager a resume. We were in the bar area so we could see the entire exchange. As he left, the manager and several other waiters looked at his resume and laughed and made fun of him walking to his car. How sad and disgusting. He was just looking for employment and as racism and discrimination goes- it happens to all races. Made me never want to return and I've spread the word to many others. Horrible to warch. read more

This el torito was a mess! The el torito in San Bernardino makes this one look so bad. My friends and i made reservations on open table for 6:45pm. We weren't seated till 7:10 i get it it's a Friday night. The only problem with that is they sat us outside a group of 6. We were the only ones outside w a heater above us that only kept myself warm 1 person. Then they sat a couple with a dog outside. They have a dog makes sense you can't eat inside with a dog? But why are we the only ones outside in the cold? W reservations beyond annoyed at this time. The server who was assigned to us wasn't even a server, he was a host and kept forgetting our drink order. They didn't even have a waiter assigned to the outside so they just had a hostess try and wait on us. Which was not the greatest customer service by the way. A manager came outside to say someone would come by to take out orders 20 min later.... After we already told the "hostess" we were ready to order. By then i ask to be moved inside the manager said it's a bit chilly out here huh? No duh manager looks annoyed that he had to find us a table to we don't freeze to death. 3 min later we get a table inside. By this time it's already 7:50 still havnt ordered food. Finally we get service. Food it's normal nothing crazy i go to use the ladies room no toilet paper in any of the stalls. One stall not working the other two nasty nasty and a early had any hand soap. Little to say will not be returning our business and will gladly drive the extra 15 min to the corona location. read more

I went to El Torito today and I just need to say how great my server was today. Destiny went above and beyond and I'm not just saying that. Destiny was by far the funniest and best server I've ever had at any restaurant at the riverside plaza. Destiny was always there without me even asking and she brought a great conversation to my table that made me think for a while. I would 100% ask for Destiny to be my server again every time I come back to el torito at the riverside plaza. read more

This is a great place to enjoy food and drinks 5+ stars. Victor Perez was our server today he went above and beyond it was me and my two sisters of course a lot of estrogen and he handled it very well will be coming back soon and I hope to have him as a server again. read more

I wish there is lower star rating that I can give in this restaurant. I took my mom and sister here for lunch. My mom and I ordered from their lunch menu. I had soup and salad all you can eat, tamales with taco and rice for my mom, while my sister ordered albondigas soup. We got our food and start eating. I had my mom and my sister tried my tortilla soup, since they do not eat this type of cuisine all the time. Through the whole time our waiter Francisco did not bother to ask how was our meal or if we need something else. Every time I have to ask something he has this look that I am bothering him. When I ask if I can have a refill it took 20 minutes before they came back to our table. Never again I'll come back to this place. read more

Coming to el Torito you can expect great customer service from the employees, but the manager walking around victor is extremely rude not to the customers but the employees, I've worked in the service industry before and know there is a way to act in front of the customers and screaming at your employees and making harsh remarks in front of the whole restraunt is far from okay, it makes the customer feel bad for the worker and the environment uncomfortable read more

Alex is hands down the best server I've ever had. We come to brunch almost every weekend and ask for him every time. Very professional. Considerate. And very very funny! Ask for him if you want good service and a good laugh. read more

The food here is so good and the service is great! On the weekends it does get busy but you're able to make reservations which is helpful!

Loved the service. Loved the food. All you can eat Sunday brunch is great with bottomless mimosas. Our server's name is Alex. He was great, funny and attentive. read more

I've been going to El Torito since I've been a kid. Went recently on Thursday and had the worst experience yet. I know that restaurants get busy but it shouldn't eliminate good customer service or orders being placed and delivered in a timely manner. I had to grab my own menu, our server was sub par, and our food was cold after waiting for about 30 minutes for it to come out. Not to mention that my appetizer came out after my main course. Spoke with the manager and she made sure that the food was actually hot but offered nothing more than sorry. El torito used to be amazing but this experience has made me question things. read more

Been spending my hard earned money at this location at least once a month, if not weekly, for almost 8 years..... I suppose the quality of the food has stayed rather constant but alas, the service and attentiveness of the staff has not.. Why I continue to expect greatness, is beside me.....the last four visits have faltered dramatically. The lack of greetings, The delayed responsiveness and unapologetic neglect has taken on a new level. We've waited in excess of 15 minutes for a simple greeting table side, Over a half hour for drinks to be brought, 10-15 minutes for the prior diners dishes and trash to be cleaned and the restrooms lack significantly in terms of the importance of upkeep and cleanliness. The trash cans most assuredly will be spilling over at most times..... For years this was the most frequently attended restaurant for us and yet lately, the diminishment of the level of service we've become accustomed to is quite disturbing.. read more

They are open...Service was great and they are practicing social distancing. Food was great as always...

So basically if you leave someone's birthday money or whatever they will try to steal it even when you call them you have to do is threaten with the manager and they will give it back by far tried to steal a little kids money when you know they have it and they tried to lie to my face about it read more

I don't understand how El Torito gets only 3 stars! All I see are haters out there who take jabs at their "authenticity" or take offense with their corporate structure. I don't get it. If you go and taste the food, it is so consistently good. I have never had a problem with anything I'm served here. Is it the best Mexican food around? Of course not, but is it still delicious? Yes, of course it is! So get off of your high horse and accept El Torito for what it is- a solid middle class appealing Mexican food chain that you can rely on for a good meal in a clean and comfortable setting. Sometimes, that's all you really want. Plus, they have a new happy hour food menu that is awesome! Their little carnitas sliders are so good. So good! Also their carnitas queso dip is delicious! read more

For a Sunday brunch this is the place to be. I sat at the bar and the bartender (Miriam) did an amazing job trying to accommodate everyone as far as drinks and changing the T.V. channels. Mind you when it comes to T.V. channels it's first come first serve. Despite being the only bartender, she personally gave me a tour of the brunch. The brunch stations consisted of salads, omelets, burritos, tacos, pan dulce, Bloody Mary, etc.... Hand made tortillas was the highlight! read more

Been here a few times before but always just with the wife. This time we had family in town so we all treked here to eat. Group of 10 + 1 child. The waiting was a little longer than expected (was about 25 minutes) but hey, it was a busy night and we were a large group. The waiter we had was awesome. He was attentive to our drinks as well as the food. Refills were never a problem as he always came by with new glasses of refreshment without us ever having to ask. That's just how awesome he was. Food wise I went with the 3 Course Mexi Meal. I decided to go with the Tortilla Soup, Chicken Flautas and Beef Taquitos, and a round of Deep Fried Ice Cream for desert. Wasn't overly fond of the beef taquitos but everything else was excellent. Great service, good food, AND they took care of a large group during a full house (yes all tables were taken when we showed up). read more

Dodge a bullet, don't eat here. Must-haves: Nothing! Skip: Everything Food: I have come here to eat a few times over the years and each time I leave the restaurant I always ask myself: "Why did I agree to eat here?" Last time I had the chicken enchiladas. Dull flavor, dull ingredients, dull dish. Beans and rice on the side are just as bad!! Would chips save the day? NO, just as bad. Drinks: Somehow they manage to mess up margarita's...we struggled to finish our drinks. Service: Below average Experience: Awful, my stomach deserves better. This food is insulting and especially insulting to any foodie that unfortunately has to eat here. Food: F | Service: D | Selection: F | Experience: F | Overall: F read more

Food was decent but a little expensive for what you get. They have a sign posted that they are adding 3% to cover labor cost, but when we asked specifically what it was for, no one could explain it. The disappointing portion of the meal came from the 3yr old behind us who had clueless parents. He constantly was kicking the booth. We asked the waiter to say something to them. She did nothing. She came by for about 2 min to "observe" and since he wasnt doing it that second, she left without saying anything. Was not happy to have the pounding my whole meal. At the end of the meal the clueless parents let him run around the restaurant, back and forth and spinning in front of our table. When will restaurants stop letting toddlers have full control of their establishments! read more

The two stars here are more for the waitress for the great service she provided otherwise it would have been one star. Ordered the carne asada burrito combo and although it looked very pretty on the plate with rice and beans, the burrito itself left much to be desired. I have been going to El Torito for decades, though first time at this location, and always considered the chain one of our favorites for good reason. This particular time was very disappointing. Inside the burrito was a ton of unions refried beans and I guess what was suppose to be the carne asada, what little of it there was. To make matters worse, the scarcely placed steak was cubed into such small pieces it was almost impossible to taste its presence in the burrito especially being over powered by the amount of unions in it. For over $17 bucks it was kind of a rip off. read more

I just left the restaurant and my experience was so bad I had to review it just to vent! First let me say that the food I did receive tasted great as usual. My favorite dish Carne Asada platter, never disappoints. But the service at this location tonight was terrible. I waited all day to eat here. After a long days work my coworkers and I came in during SNF and took advantage of the bar happy hour. I never got my salad. My friend never got her soup. My sister never got her soda! And another never got her entree! Our server STEPHANI probably was forgetting to ring things in. And when we let her know we were missing a plate she said ok. 20 minutes later we asked again. Her reply was "oh yea we are out of that" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? After one rude manager did nothing another tried to better resolve it. What would have been a night of several margaritas and a generous tip turned into GET ME THE EFF OUT OF HERE! And what's worst is it seems like they didn't care we were upset. read more

If you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity this is NOT the place to go. After over an hour of waiting for the manager to "call corporate," the waitress trying to "talk to the chef," and then hearing them tell us all sauces are "made fresh...but some things are sent to us pre-made but we're unable to find the ingredient list" my group of 5 came to the conclusion that coming here was a horrible decision. Even after explaining to them that all they needed to do was check the ingredients lists for flour or wheat they informed us that they couldn't serve food until they found "a little green list that should tell us what has gluten and what doesn't...it's for legal reasons." We were left hungry, feeling angry and alienated, and tired of hearing excuses. Oh and did I mention that when they finally brought the gluten free food it was served without condiments, not on a plate, and 20 minutes later than the rest of the party's food, and they decided that both rice and beans must have gluten in them too because that was definitely left off. El Torito's is NOT allergy friendly and is not willing to try to accommodate. My advice is to look for a different Mexican restaurant folks...this one is sure to disappoint. read more

Dear El Toritos, Riverside Plaza. Not sure why you wouldn't seat us after we had been waiting for more than 10 minutes. Your hostess was cleaning menus, running things to the kitchen. The place was only half full. But yet when we asked we were told another 6-7 minutes. Well, we walked out. We were ready to order a big meal and drinks, probably a $100+ check. But instead we left and will probably never be back. There are plenty of other places to eat in Riverside, places where a paying customer is more important than cleaning menus. Just a tip for you El Toritos, when you have a paying customer in your place, get them in a seat, have your busboy get them some water and chips. Treat them like you want their business, then you might end up with a happy customer instead of a bitchy rant review. read more

here is an update guys and now I know why this restaurant in the chain is shoddy. A PR person read my review and sent me a message stating that a area manager will contact me regarding my feedback, it's been 3 weeks and no manage has called me. I'm sure other people are just as unhappy in their experience. We as consumers will not tolerate this type of service, with this type of service I predict that El Torito will be out of business within the next 5 years.. read more

What happened to this place? I haven't been to a Taco Tuesday at El Torito in months and based on what happened last night, I won't be going back, ever. The house margaritas are way gross now, all sugar and lime syrup, very little tequila. I heard several customers asking for their money back because the drinks were not good. Service was 2 stars at best. Listen, I know that Taco Tuesday is a crazy night but that is expected. They have been doing TT nights for years. Not going back for happy hour, totally not worth it. I'll try the Sunday Brunch and report back. Good luck. read more

We had a birthday party here! This restaurant mainly serves Mexican food. It is a well kept up place. Everything was clean including the restrooms. The server was nice and pleasant with us. We asked our server to turn down the music. It was just a little too loud for casual conversation. He abridged and turned it down right away. Our food came out quickly. I had a chicken burrito. It was very good. Everyone else had a good time and was very happy with the taste of the food and the service. Overall we had a very good time. read more

I had a craving for enchiladas and so took the family here the other evening for dinner. Service was superb as our waiter Vincente was very attentive and courteous while handling several tables. He never let our drinks ( coke & iced tea) go dry or our chips and salsa run out. The food was quite good for a chain restaurant. My cheese enchiladas were warm and delicious. The spanish rice was a little dry and and perhaps had been sitting around a while. It was on the verge of being cool vs hot. My only complaint is that the drinks from the bar seem watered down. I always ask for a quality brand name scotch on the rocks and so I know what my drink should taste like if served correctly. After several attempts to get it right, I opted for a glass of wine instead. Were it not for the above issue, I would have rated this establishment 4 stars. read more
