    queso and chips
    Cindy L.

Fun vibes here! The outdoor area had some lawn games but we decided to stay inside which kind of had a warehouse vibe. I liked the murals, very interesting. I got a virgin pina colada which was good! Then the queso and chips which were PHENOMENALLLLL. Outstanding queso. And I love that you can get free chips and salsa at the water stand behind the bar in the little drawer and more chips on your own if you're running low. Next up was the street corn which is incredibly hard to eat. It also was a bit too spicy for me. I had to wash my hands like 3 times but at least the sinks are on the outside of the bathroom which was very helpful! Lastly, I got the fried avocado taco which had almost no flavor unfortunately. I don't know if deep fryers and avocado go together but I love the ambition! Overall had a pretty good time! Would definitely come here to chill again and just shovel chips and queso in my mouth

Look how good and crispy and lots of meat this wing/drumstick has...mmmm. crunch!!!

So good so much meat..I'll definitely be back and bring some friends ds because they have a " game yard " with cornhole. and other games to play..great place if ya want to get out and have dinner, a snack. Or a beer..nive people too...till next time!!Oh yeah service was fast it was very clean the bathroom weren't bad either.

I had come to the place before in early 2021 and had the complete wrong idea. Now that it's fully open, I never noticed how spacious and inviting this place is. I came on a Monday night to watch the Lions v Ravens and I had a great time. They have $5 Margaritas on Mondays and I had ordered the burger and street corn as well which were amazing, loved the jalapeños in there. They even let me bring in my dog to sit and chill. The staff were very accommodating and nice as they had also brought my dog a water bowl with ice. Will definetly be back.

This is a cool place to go only once. It's not a place I would be excited to go back. There is indoor and outdoor dinning area. It's better to sit outside, if people want to have conversations. If you're there for drinking i recommend sitting inside . Drinks are ok nothing special. Frozen margarita did not tasted like the other frozen margaritas that I have tried. I would give one star. Nachos was good. I would give it five star. P.S There is security outside. They check the bags and pockets.

male security guard abruptly barged into the women's restroom

I am sharing this because no patron should be subjected to aggressive, intimidating, or inappropriate conduct, especially in a space (aka the WOMENS RESTROOM) where women should feel safe and respected February 21, 2026 at approximately 1:00 AM I was patiently waiting in line for the women's restroom, speaking respectfully with others in line. As we approached the front, a male security guard abruptly barged into the women's restroom, forcing the door open aggressively while shining a flashlight directly at us (as shown in the attached photo). The door was pushed with enough force that it struck the women standing directly in front of me. I immediately warned him that he was pushing the door into women and that his behavior was aggressive and unsafe. He showed no concern and instead proceeded to shine his flashlight directly into my face. He then allowed a different group of women who had been behind us in line to enter ahead of us. It was alarming and inappropriate for a male security guard to forcibly enter the women's restroom in that manner, physically push the door into female patrons, and use intimidation tactics like shining a flashlight directly into my face. After I spoke up out of concern for the women who had been pushed by the door, his behavior escalated further. While my friend stepped out briefly to understand the situation and defend me, I proceeded to use the restroom. At that point, the same male security guard again shined his flashlight directly into my face and then escorted me out of the bar, despite the fact that I had not acted aggressively, violated any rules, or done anything to warrant removal. I was respectful, compliant, and simply trying to use the restroom. Being singled out, intimidated, and removed without cause--especially after a male guard aggressively barged into the women's restroom--was shocking, humiliating, and unacceptable. I am sharing this because no patron should be subjected to aggressive, intimidating, or inappropriate conduct, especially in a space where women should feel safe and respected.

This review is for last Friday the 8th. We Made it here just in time for happy hour. Happy hour ends at 7 so we were able to get the night started with margarines and there happy hour tacos. They are really good the drinks were strong tacos were good kinda spicy but good The DJ is playing Jams all night and they really start to get busy around 10

El Tejano is a fun spot with great vibes! We had a great time, drinks are reasonably priced, and the food is very good. Parking, however, can be a real challenge, especially on busy nights. Also, I really wish they never removed the billiard table, it was a great touch that added to the atmosphere. Still, it's a solid place to hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and sip on drinks without breaking the bank.

My friends and I came for taco Tuesday and the 3 tacos for $5 dollars was definitely worth the slightly rude service. I wouldn't not come back. Plenty of TVs and cool indoor/outdoor place.

This place can get busy at night but around 7:30pm on a Saturday it's completely chill. We enjoyed micheladas and a Baja taco and it has been so delicious! Highly recommend. If you want more of a party atmosphere just come back later at night. Also very chill.

From the moment I arrived and was greeted by two bouncers lounging in chairs and enjoying their meals, I knew this wasn't going to be my kind of place. Talk about a warm welcome--if by "warm" you mean as inviting as a refrigerator! Once inside, my bartender seemed to be more interested in her phone than in serving drinks. After a delightful wait, she finally took my order for a Hendricks and tonic. At $14.00 for the drink, I guess I was paying for the ambiance of a distracted bartender! To add a twist, there was a mysterious $0.42 service charge that I'm still trying to decipher--especially since I was paying cash. Isn't it nice when they throw in surprise charges? After tax, which was $1.41, I paid with a $20 bill. She handed me back $4.00, despite the fact that my change should have been $4.17. Now, I'm not losing sleep over the $0.17, but it does make you wonder how many other coins might be going missing behind the bar. A bartender's little tricks can leave you questioning what else might be slipping through the cracks--like honesty! After finishing my drink, I decided it was time to make my exit and find a place where the service is as refreshing as the cocktails.

Came here for taco Tuesday. The taco Tuesday 3 for 5$ deal that they offer is very misleading to what they show on their social media. We ordered tacos and we were served mini tostadas with a flat hard shell. Don't say that it's a taco when it's clearly not. If I wanted a tostada I would've ordered tostadas but I wanted tacos. We asked the bartender about this and he said it was 5$ for a regular taco. And the meat was mushy too which is not my favorite. However, the big cowboy drink we ordered was delicious and they have boombox bingo on Tuesdays which was very fun. Also the female security guard talked very low when we entered. I couldn't really hear her with all the loud music going on. And the table was dirty too. There's no one cleaning tables.

El Tejano reminds me of the vibe of Papas & Beer so if you want a white linen fine dining experience go somewhere else. But if you are okay with a casual and fun atmosphere to watch some sports, definitely check this place out. The SALSA was SO good. Like actually fresh and home made with a lovely amount of heat. Surprisingly, one of the best parts of our meal was the sautéed kale that came with the chicken bowl. The guacamole and pico were a little sad, however. I am looking forward to my next visit to try the famous massive margs.

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. I ordered at the bar like always, and the bartender took my order and then walked towards the kitchen. Now I know they usually give you your drink right then and there, but they were busy and I assumed he was going to take care of something else first, which is completely fine! What I didn't expect was this other bartender, who was on the complete other side of the bar and didn't communicate me with at all, was actually filling my drink. I didn't realize that, because he didn't tell me, so I turned to walk back to my table. This rude bartender thought I was abandoning my drink or something, and used his big boy voice to yell "YOUR DRINK!" so loudly that everyone at the bar stopped to stare at me, and some were laughing. Now I didn't know that intentionally embarrassing your patrons is how you guys do business, but ok, whatever makes you feel important I guess... The original bartender who took my order came by and checked and on our table later in the night, and he asked us something that neither my friend or I could hear, so I said "I'm sorry, what?" and he rolled his eyes and walked away. Alternatively, a few months ago, my husband and his friend came here and they received the complete opposite treatment - free drinks, conversations with the bartenders, and were welcomed. I never come into a restaurant/bar, especially a small business, expecting anything for free, that isn't my point at all. I do however expect basic manners and respect. Based on our very different experiences recently, there does seem to be a hint of misogyny going on here. This place used to be cool and friendly, and food has always been great, but the men who work here completely ruin it. It's really disappointing.

So the TAVERN BURGER with Impossible meat, a side green salad, and a lemonade needed no coin toss for me to be decisive. Ordering my meal at the bar was easy, there was no line, and service was quick. I loved that it was chill for a mid-week lunch hour. However, I imagine it gets busy later on in the afternoon and during a non-holiday week. Most of LA was already heading out to campsites for the 4th of July week from what it seemed. Beyond the burger, I really loved the fun decor. Inside, it felt like a Southern Hunting Lodge with its trophies hanging on the wall. Outdoors, it had my kind of charm with its lush greenery, flowering blooms, rustic decor, and picnic-style benches that felt like you're in someone's backyard. I'm sure the big tree in the center helps make the twinkle lights amazing at night. Plus, if you bring your furry friend (service dog) then the outdoor patio is a nice place to chill, and there's a bowl of fresh water just for them. As for drinks, there are plenty of beer choices on tap from Old Rasputin Stout to IPAs. Malbec and Opolo Zin looked enticing too. Since this is a Whiskey Tavern, there are lots of options ranging from low to high-end spirits to choose from. I recommend you take a peek at their menu beforehand to avoid deliberating for a while before choosing the one that speaks to you.

Umm the hype about their burgers, nothing spectacular especially for that price. In&out is better,…read morecheaper without the 18% service fee with minimal service. It's an English pub, you order at the bar, you get a number, they bring your food, that's it. Expensive, lack luster food tack on 18 - 25% for minimal service just seems wrong. The ambiance was nice but you need to seat yourself.
