The family enjoys the food here. Portions are generous, chips and salsa/beans is a nice appetizer, and hostesses are very friendly

The team at La Cabaña is a fun time and will be ready to make you believe in Mexican cuisine of small towns. Our server, "Martha12" as the receipt indicated, was a blast. She was non-stop jokes and sass, especially given that I am a very white man who clearly rarely consumes this fantastic cuisine. We started simple with carona, limes, and some chips. After some time reviewing the very large menus, she came and took our orders. Each of us went with an enchilada and burrito, with added refried beans to load up on more carbs and protein. We had ample time to relax, and the large umbrellas made me happy to be out of the sun. I ordered a piña colada, and holy heck, did it ever come in the largest cocktail glass known to man. Thank god I had help to consume it with a friend. The indoor space is quaint and small, so I expect in cooler weather that it would be hard to find seating. In summer there are several outdoor seating areas. There aren't many places to keep bikes when eating, so the team recommended the alley nearby. Ours ended up being safe, but, I would definitely recommend bringing locks. Parking should be ample, and the cute small town streets were a nice vibe. I left very content, and would definitely return on my next cycling adventure.

This food truck is parked outside…read morethe Black Iron Grill and shares the outdoor seating, so don't let the two businesses confuse you--El Amigo is the one you want. We've been eating here 2-3 times a week while we get our kitchen and routine set up, and it's been a reliable source of good food and genuinely good service every single time. The team at El Amigo is fantastic: they're always super friendly at the window, quick to take our order, and they consistently hit the quoted time when we call ahead. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is fresh and flavorful. I'm pretty picky about Mexican food, while my husband grew up eating it more often, and we're both able to find something we really like here--unlike some other places that have been hit or miss for us. On two occasions our order came out wrong, but the way El Amigo handled it is exactly why we keep coming back. They were quick to fix the mistake, immediately remade the food without any hesitation, and were extremely apologetic and accommodating--never once making us feel bad for speaking up. That level of customer service is rare and really shows how well this business is run. Their guacamole and pico de gallo are standouts, and we've worked our way through a good portion of the menu without a single disappointment. El Amigo also has another truck off Hwy 26 in Manning, which we haven't tried yet, but based on our experience in Vernonia we're looking forward to checking it out. Their hours are also very convenient, staying open later than many small-town spots, which makes it easy to grab a good meal without racing the clock. Overall, El Amigo is a standout business that's run right--great food, great people, fair prices, and genuinely thoughtful service. We highly recommend you check it out if you're in the area.

Being from San Diego, my hope was dwindled & I've been on Yelp scouring for a well-reviewed & high star establishment. Once I saw the reviews here I was, damn near, forced to visit. Immediately, welcomed with kindness by the most seemingly genuine and bright spirit of the cashier woman (wish I got her name). Boom immediate 3 stars. Plus they had free water! THEN, I took a bite of the California burrito from my car - it was pippin' hot, so I waited the twenty-minute drive home to really lock in on my opinion. I LOVE California burritos, and again I'm from San Diego (home of the Cali burrito) & I ate this thing dooowwwnnnn. I ONLY wanted to eat half but WOW - flavorful, great texture, green salsa was amazing, fresh ingredients, & a yummy incorporation of sauces. Love. Would recommend. Amazing price for quality and size! Everything you need & then some! Please visit here!
