This is a must-try spot in Portland! It was the last stop on the way back and I was so glad to be able to try out this gem of a food truck. We were originally looking for a Turkish restaurant but stumbled upon this spot via Yelp with raving reviews. We order the "Tri-Meat Plate" and it lived up to our expectations and more. The meat was fresh, flavorful, the hummus was perfection and the yoghurt sauce elevates everything. Also, the presentation was beautiful, you can tell they make their food with love. This is one of those places where I'm looking forward to a return visit to try other things on the menu, but could very well get stuck ordering the same wonderful things over and over again, delaying my exploration. I had the Kofta-kabab Saj, which was similar in construction to a kofta gyro, but it was wrapped tightly and grilled on all sides. I had the option for garlic sauce and/or hot sauce. I went with only garlic sauce and, for my taste, it provided plenty of flavor. My daughter opted for a Doner salad, and was as impressed as I was. Just watched the main cook spit gum into his gloves and then start cooking food. Enough said. Edit: this should be a 0 star review. The owner was made aware and they laughed, didn't seem to care. I also watched them handle other patrons cash then turn around and continue to handle food. No handwashing, cross contamination, and shitty attitude when I brought this to their attention. They are open on July 4! This was such an unassuming food truck at the Eastport food center. Honestly walked right past it first, but was in the mood for hummus and not much else was open I so doubled back. I got the hummus and husband got the lamb saj. I didn't think too much of the lamb saj when he got it because of the photo, but when it was ready - wow, it was like 2 feet like long and blazing hot. That peaked my curiosity and I decided to try a bit - omg sooo much yumminess in my mouth! The lamb was tender and not overwhelming, the sourness from the sauce and pickle and tomato paired super well with it. The bread was crispy and hot. We ordered Dolma and Lamb Gyro wrap. My husband loved the wrap. I didn't like the wrap, it had potential but was too salty. I found Dolma tasty but rice was a bit undercooked and some of them were close to crunchy. I grew up in a neighboring country to Turkey so I am familiar with Turkish food. I couldn't decide between the beef or the lamp doner at this place. I ended up getting all three meats on my combo plate. I was greeted by a lovely women who was really helpful with answering my friends' questions on the style of food(I'm an old pro when it comes to Turkish cuisine) my food came out deliciously hot and there was a lot of it, eating the leftovers now. The tzatziki was delicious, really strong cucumber flavor and the meats and hummus were flavored perfectly. I recommend getting the fries to add to this mound if food and getting the spicy AND garlic sauces to smother your plate with. The only thing I will say is there wasn't a lot of actual Turkish street food options, but it was all really tasty. read more

Stumbled upon this little food truck area with a variety of places to try, but this one really caught our eye! They have gyros, meat plates and what have you, but the gyros were more like a long grilled burrito? It was interesting so we decided on the lamb. The crunch of the wrap was nice and the meat? Juicy. Such a hit or miss with lamb meat and it was pretty tasty! They loaded it up with good amount of meat and salad! Their dressing is also refreshing! It was quite a large burrito for just one person! I am really, really picky about my doner kabob carts. Any time I see doner on a menu in the United States, I order it, and I am inevitably disappointed. But this place does the best doner in Portland. The saj (a kind of pressed wrap) is enormous, and basically perfect. I think mine was two feet long? I ordered it with fries and instantly regretted it because the fries came in a gigantic serving too. It's been so fun to try all the new carts opening up in the new Eastport food cart pod! Living in deep SE, I've been on the lookout for a good doner kebab spot. So the last time we were at the food carts, I spotted this place and decided to order the tri-meat plate (lamb doner, chicken, and beef... they let me try a taste of the doner beforehand and I was won over!), and it was SO good (and so much food--it ended up being two meals for me!). The meat was tender, and, most importantly: well-seasoned with spices (not bland like some places). The meal came with tasty flatbread and rice, and I really enjoyed the garlic sauce and hot sauce. The hummus was super smooth and creamy, and the yogurt dip had a generous amount of cucumbers and herbs in it (and was really rich and delicious, almost like labneh). Plus you get a side salad and pickles. In other words, I felt like I got a great value for the price of a plate, lol. Not the best Turkish food I have ever had yet not the worst. I had a tri meat platter the chicken was the only good thing on the platter of proteins. The other two proteins did not have any taste and was very bland. The rice was very good and flavorful and fluffy. The hummus and the yogurt sauce were a little bland for my taste.
