Yum! We hadn't been to Stammtisch since the year it opened (2014, eeeek, now I feel old)…read more But we went again last Friday, and it was such a delightful place to go for lunch. Not crowded, with attentive but chill service. We had a delicious burger (hubby) with a fabulous acid-forward set of toppings; a delicious lentil-and-every-German-meat soup (me, because I am an Official Soup Nerd); a delicious pretzel with dips (us). Chocolate pot de creme for dessert--so rich. It was Strong Bier month, which was really fun. Can't wait to go back.

Bit more of a pub vibe than a restaurant but they have plenty of great sounding dishes I haven't…read moreheard of tho I don't have much experience with German food besides schnitzels & wursts. We happened to come in during HH (weekdays 3-5) so we got a bretzel w/ beercheese of course ($8) and bratwurst served w/ sauerkraut, mustard & pickle spear ($9). The sauerkraut was a tad sweet IMO but the brat was juicy and tasty. We also got the Schweinsaxe (I think?) which was an enormous pork shoulder hunk w/ nice fried crackling skin on the outside & comes w/ red cabbage and spaetzl. Def recommend sharing this big boy. It was good and all but I wish there was a bit more flavor to it than just meat flavor. The only thing for me is I find German beers to all be a bit too sweet for me as someone that likes stronger beers like IPAs but not dark beers much.

Much has changed here since my last review, so I thought I should update it…read more They have expanded the space inside to include a larger bathroom, which is awesome considering they only had one gender neutral bathroom available when we first started coming here. There are more tables too, both normal height and high tops. They've also added a pool table and cornhole, in addition to the original ping pong table. Their menu has evolved as well. In addition to pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers, they've added a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, spinach artichoke dip and ice cream floats. They have a nice variety of beers and ciders. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We love their QR code ordering system. It helps you get your food faster and you can just pay your tab on your phone. Such a convenience! You can also make reservations online, which is great for large parties. As others have mentioned, it is located in an odd industrial area set back from the main road. It's easy to miss if you're not watching for their sign. There's plenty of parking and a large outdoor seating area during the summer. Their food prices have gone up, and some items seem a little steep now, but that seems to be happening everywhere nowadays.

The standout feature for me was the QR code ordering system: scan, order, and close out your tab whenever you're ready, all from your phone. In a busy restaurant, this feels less like a gimmick and more like a small act of genius. No awkward eye contact trying to flag someone down, no waiting to pay while mentally calculating how close you are to just leaving cash and hoping for the best. That said, if you're not in the mood to embrace your phone as your server, the traditional route is still there. You can walk up to the bar or catch one of the servers floating around. It's a smart setup that solves the "we're busy and maybe a little understaffed" problem without making it your problem. Food-wise, I went with the meatball sub (on special). Handmade pork and beef meatballs, clearly done by someone who knows what they're doing, and the kind of sandwich that requires both commitment and a few extra napkins. No regrets. I paired it with the Breakside Pilsner, which landed comfortably on the higher end of "good"Not life-changing, but absolutely something you'd order again without hesitation, especially if you're settling in for a while. Overall, it's a place that feels like it understands how people actually want to eat and drink right now. Efficient without being cold, flexible without being chaotic, and just cool enough to make you feel like you picked the right spot.

The patio has a row of tables along the railing and not all can view the St John's bridge so we were excited to grab the corner spot with a view. I got a quick response from David who was very accommodating. It was slightly disheartening when we arrived at our reserved time they didn't have a table for us specifically. They said "sit anywhere" as they weren't busy but pretty much all of the tables (inside & out) were taken. We made it work for our party by moving tables around to accommodate. You place your order at the bar. We did a "family" style in which we ordered a number of options off the menu and enjoyed it together. Their fondue special was a good deal and we took plenty home in leftovers. The German potato salad was very mustardy (and I love mustard) but a little over the top. Not normally one to order Jägerschnitzel but it was very good (pork). The pretzel was slightly over done but tasty nonetheless. It was packed so service was as best as it could be. There were a couple of issues but they did their best. Overall this place is the "gem" I have seen in these reviews and with giving it a shot. We will be back with our doggies as it is dog friendly! Give it a try
