The food here is incredible and the prices are very fair, especially for today's prices. They are cash only which keeps it old school. There's usually a wait but that is more than expected and fair. Their soft serve is very good and their fountain drinks always taste as they should. Restaurant management is very friendly and keeps a good reputation with the community. This is a restaurant that is an operating time capsule of good times and definitely deserves your support. Covered outdoor seating is available. Very clean and upkept establishment. read more

While waiting in line, the cashier notified the gentleman who placed his order ahead of me, it was going to take a while for his large order. The cashier then mopped over to the kitchen. Handing the order to the cook who looked overwhelmed and ready for a cigarette and career change. The mood was depressing. I ordered soft serve and the same cashier from earlier told me the vanilla wasn't a good option for it is softer. Now I was unsure what soft serve really is... The cones were stale, and worse quality than what can be bought in a store. The owner when building the property failed to consider where the sun hits the building. I gladly walked past the seating area that had metal seats and were in direct sunlight to avoid getting 1st degree burns on my body. read more

So for a small town and a family owned business I can not rate it less then 3 stars. I came from out of town and I'm sure day to day is different experience but when Halloween town is going on it's over a half hour just to get ice cream and I was the 5th in line. The staff move slow like they don't want to be there except the lady on the grill that looks like she is going threw he'll just get peoples food out. The ice cream is good but not the best in the world. The cherry dip is amazing combo and pairs well. The milk shacks look like they take forever so I didn't order. I politely asked for a mistake and the young male employee with a yellow sweater yelled at me "We don't give them to grown adults who drive." And slammed the window in my face. I then asked a young girl to talk to the manager because he ran off to the back, and when he went to go to the window, he saw me standing at the window and went back to the back, asking the young girl something then she came to speak with me. After that when I got to talk to the manager, the manager told me it's meant for "elementary schoolers and middle schoolers" and I never knew of this because I was given mistakes with no problem before. I asked how come I never heard of this and she said "well we do" in a rather rude tone and seemed to be getting more pissed off as I was expressing my unhappiness with the service I was given by the man in the yellow sweater and I expressed the fact the employee could have calmly said, "Oh I'm sorry, we only give them to elementary and middle schoolers." Not yell at me and slam the window, the interaction would have been done so much faster and leaving me feel satisfied and understanding why I can't get them anymore. I have no money whatsoever and I was using my dads car to drive and he puts gas in it, I do not. With that the manager also assumed I had money because I could simply drive "You drive that car?" Yes. "Well then boom, you buy gas, you got money." while I explained I do not. Left me in tears because she would not listen to reasoning and did not want to listen to my side of things and for the guy who yelled at me, it was not the first time he had yelled at me, he has done this in the past but not as aggressive till now. Absolutely despicable and will never be visiting this establishment again, I never feel welcomed here whatsoever, they have some nice staff that make me feel welcomed but some staff should be fired or properly retrained, example; the manager and the yellow sweater employee. A patient at my dental office said she was going to go to lunch and of course I had to ask her where. She told me about Dari delish and one day I HAD to try it. She was so adamant I couldn't say no. So here I am and she didn't disappoint!!! Fun 50's music playing, nice covered outside seating that I was thankful for because it was raining. What a wonderful mom and pop type joint! Everytime I go to St. Helen's I stop to eat there. Love their burgers with grilled onions and fries.

Ice cream was good. Service was good. However I wish they put pricing on the menu and made the menu a little easier to read. Overall great experience and would definitely be back. read more

Dari-Delish was a pleasant stop while in Saint Helens; these road side burger places are hit or miss, some are a delicious throwback and some are a mere shadow of their former selves. Dari-Delish is the former with excellent prices, good food quality and reasonable wait times. I always order the simplest burger to sample their quality, for this place it was the budget burger basket (with cheese) for only $5.25. It was a solid burger and the fries looked and tasted fresh, not just reheated Ore-Ida fries. My wife got cheesy tots and mac 'n cheese bites and they were also good. We then ordered a junior cone for each of us, for only $1 each, as our dessert. It's simple soft serve, but reasonably priced and included the option for flavor burst. The only downsides are that they are cash only and there aren't any restrooms that I could reasonably find. We actually had to go to the arcade a couple blocks away to use their restroom. Otherwise it was a good experience and I'd come back here. read more

Cash only places don't get my business. Trying to say that it's to preserve your 50's theme is surely a joke that no one believes? You're just being cheap or lazy and don't want to pay for the infrastructure upgrade. (caveat, it's been about a year since I've been there, but as far as I can see online, it's still the same). The food is fine, nothing I've ever ordered has blown my socks off. Definitely any kind of nice weather day, there's always a line and it takes a very long time to get your food. It seems like they usually staff young folks, which is I guess commendable on the one hand? On the other, often the service is mediocre or rude, because they have no customer service training. They're always cheerful and kind, which in my line of work is very welcome, because usually when I'm on the road it's draining, and they're legitimately cheerful and kind. I know "customer experience" is all the rage to discuss, but I'd rather be around real people who aren't always perfect but it's authentic. 5. FLAVOR CONES. I LOVE this place. It's not fancy and they don't even accept credit cards. But they have a great menu selection, their burgers are on point, their flavor burst ice cream cones are a hit with my kids. They're affordable and the service is always great. I always take everyone here if they visit me or I'll take my oldest daughter on Fridays after school. Milkshakes are good but their customer service is awful, and has been more than once. Last time I went I asked the young girl with green hair for an extra fry sauce, she rolled her eyes so far back in her head before she turned to grab one for me. They also don't accept cash to "keep the 50's theme" but play current top 40 hits for the music? Makes sense. It seems everyone I talk to has had some bad customer service situation with them. Went to the Dari Delish on my last trip to St. Helens. I grew up going to this drive up. I am in my 70's. My family and I ordered burgers as usual. They were horrible. Meat was maybe 1/4" thick, cold, and burned. Ordered just a pattie for the dogs too. We ate part of them and threw the rest away. Then we all got extremely sick. This was May 2021. I hope they can get back into the swing of things. Lillian, who I went to school with, was off that day. Sad to say no more burgers for us there. read more

This was a cute place. I love that is has an old time-y drive-in feel. And prices! Nothing is really expensive. Came here with my parents and we each got a treat and all three things were about $4. They have things like burgers and corn dogs and the like, as well. Chocolate dipped soft serves, snow cones, milkshakes and malts, etc. All kinds of flavors! It took me so long to decide what I wanted. I also really enjoy where it's located: an old part of downtown St. Helens. There isn't much to do in this town (unless you have a boat on the river) but this is a fun summer place to come with friends. The one thing about it is that it does get extremely busy. We were in line for about 15 minutes because the people working would switch off taking people's orders and putting together said orders. So it would take a few minutes or so between orders. That's really the only thing. They should really open up their second window because they do all the order taking/putting out in the same window so everybody just crowds around it and it's just a cluster. Other than that, I love this place! I'll definitely be back here when I visit my parents! read more

One of the ladies that works here is just plain rude. I had an order that they messed up and added cheese when I asked for no cheese. They tried to charge me for having them fix my order and get it right. I refused to pay and the lady got right in my face and yelled at me before finally giving me the burgers-minus cheese. She also flipped me off while walking away. Just plain rude and horrible business etiquette. I also saw them handling food with their bare hands without washing them. They don't accept credit or debit cards and they are cash only. Their excuse is that they are trying to keep the theme of the 1950s and that there were no credit cards back then. Well, if they want to genuinely keep their theme as 50s and justify not accepting credit cards, they need to improve the quality of their food by a lot while reducing their prices by a whole lot since that's how things were back in the 50s. read more
