My buddy and I came here on an off chance cuz initially went to Key Burger but it was closed and we stumbled upon Carnitas Don Cuco. They had a great family pack deal for $25 with beans, rice, salsa, a bowl of carnitas and fresh pressed hand made corn tortillas. Carnitas - great flavor savory and smoke notes to the pork. Also, just the right amount of fat and lean meat. Not overly greasy compared to other carnitas I've had. Beans - great flavor of beans. Not from a can. Great seasoning on it. Corn tortillas - real deal fresh pressed and homemade style corn tortillas to go with our carnitas. This was definitely the highlight of the entire pack and put it all together. All in all I'd come here again just after my match. Go with cash only. They love that. Cash is still and always will be king.

My company catered with them and the experience was fantastic!…read more Drinks were on point, the lemonade was flavorful. Service was excellent as the food and drink were delivered to our office quickly and without issue. I did not dine in at their restaurant yet but I am now hoping to stop by if I am in the area! Thanks Carnitas Don Cuco!

We stopped by the Santa Clarita farmers market while in town for a soccer game and ordered beef,…read morepork, chicken, and cheese tamales. Every single one was delicious, but the beef was our favorite. The flavors were spot on and we loved the masa, it's smooth and not grainy. Plus, the tamales are huge! We thought they were just a small local stand at the farmers market, but then found out they're actually famous for their tamales. On top of that, the young man working the booth was so friendly and helpful -- such a great representation of the business. We seriously considered driving back from Irvine to Santa Clarita just to buy more and freeze them! Then we realized they have a booth at a farmers market in Irvine so we'll definitely be regular customers from now on.

If you're a grown man or woman, two tamales should fill you. If you're a kid or petite person (man or woman), one tamale should satisfy you. I had the beef and the chicken. I plan to try the pork next. It's not all masa corn meal, as you can see by my photos, it's moist tender juicy meat fills the girth of the entire tamale the entire length, so it's huge enough where it best fits into your mouth for a delightful experience if you use a fork (no knife necessary since it's so moist and fresh). I went to their food truck (not really mobile), styled "Farmer's Market" set up at the Redondo Beach Farmer's Market located in North Redondo Beach on Green Street, perpendicular to Artisia Blvd adjacent to the Redondo Beach Public Library's North Branch. They're set up for the 2nd half of the day, in the afternoon to evening as a Wednesday weekly Farmer's Market. I'm not sure if The Tamale Co is there every week, but they've been there recognizably and consistently so far.
