I've been craving burritos lately. As in like, I could eat a burrito for at least one meal a day and still want another. So when I had to drive through Norwood for a doctor's appointment I pulled up Yelp to find the best burrito spot en route. Happy to have come across El Taco Bus for just that need! I sent a fb message before heading out to make sure he'd be there, since this is corona season and I don't know what kind of chances he's taking. Turns out, there's not much "social distancing" being practiced with the taco truck. No one was hanging out right there, but it was basically the same as any other taco transaction - you roll up, place an order, hand over the cash (cash only business), keep it moving. I ordered a steak burrito with salsa verde and extra beans instead of rice. He chucked all the toppings on the flat top for a few minutes, rolled it up in a monster, and dropped it under the press to get a nice sear on the shell. That, to me, is an essential next step. I don't want a soggy, fall to pieces, burrito. El Taco Bus delivered a perfect burrito. Brought it home and threw it on a bed of spinach and lettuce, topped it with the salsa, and sliced it open. There's a layer of delicious melty cheese, thick pieces of juicy steak, and plenty of cilantro and onions for flavor. The salsa verde was an excellent choice as well, it brought the full blast of onion and cilantro in every bite. Well worth the stop! read more

Just discovered El Taco Bus parked on Vine street in Carthage today. My son went a couple weeks ago and told me it was a "must stop." He was right. Incredibly reasonably priced, fantastic traditional street tacos (served with onions and cilantro - and cheese if you ask for it). Be sure to get the cilantro lime sauce on it. If he asks if you want it spicy, be prepared because they are definitely spicy. Antonio served up some tasty lunch today and it was quick. Please note - they only take cash. read more

My hubby and I stopped at El Taco Bus a few weeks ago. I had 2 asada tacos and my hubby had 2 pollo. The tacos were a nice size with a nice amount of filling. My hubby enjoyed the pollo. I wanted to taste one, but I waited to long for that to happen. LOL The asada was very tasty and tender and the soft corn tortillas were good also. Now. Here is the best part. I have a service dog. A REAL service dog that has been highly trained to make my life easier. Her name is Mia. Mia is an extremely picky eater and rarely eats meat or "people" food. However, she loved the asada even more than I did. So the next time I visit El Taco Bus I will be ordering an asada taco for her as well. read more

I love eating meals from Food Trucks. They always hit the spot! Especially this particular one. If you love hidden Mexican food gems this is definately one of them. 100% Authentic and delicious! Parked next to the Norwood Drive Thru. There is a picnic table and if you want to enjoy some beers, feel free to stop by the Drive thru! It's so convenient! They've only been there for a couple of weeks, but every time I Drive by, there's always new customers checking it out. We just had to try it. We are walking distance so it was perfect! Not sure how long they will be there but I heard from our mailman that they remain thru the summer. FYI, they only accept cash. The menu itself is very simple. They have burritos, tacos (corn, not flour) at $2.00 each (you can choose from their list what kind of taco you like), quesadillas, tortas, and chicherron con cueritos. My Mr and I got three tacos a piece. -Barbacoa -Pastor -Chorrizo -Asada -Carnitas -Campechanos We got our food to go. When we got home! Omg, we ate everything! Fresh ingredients with a side of salsa verde, spicy red sauce (In ramekins), slices of cucumbers and radishes. They also put on the side sautéed onions and a Serrano if you want additions on you tacos. The proteins were seasoned just right! My favorite is the Chorrizo (nice kick) and Barbacoa. Wanna taco 'bout a great new hidden gem in Norwood? Right on! Let me tell ya about El Taco Bus! Located in front of Norwood Drive Thru on Montgomery Road, this little bus is anything but little when it comes to flavor. My lady and I had driven past it a few times and were always intrigued by this little bus, so we decided to one day try it out, and we're definitely glad we did. We both ordered three tacos (She had the pastor, chorizo, and barbacoa. I had the asada, carnitas, and campechanos) and we enjoyed each one to the last bite. Plus, at $2 a taco, it was a steal for such tasty tacos. I absolutely have to commend the two guys working there for making this fantastic, authentic goodness! But the menu is more than just tacos. They also have burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and chicherron con cueritos. I'll likely try a burrito next time. I couldn't find a list of hours on the place and it may not be open year round, but if you find yourself in the area sometime soon, I highly recommend giving it a try. This is a small trailer parked in the lot of the Norwood Drive Thru, a short distance away from Quatmans. The El Taco Bus used to be parked here, and the fellow operating this trailer indicated the two businesses were/are connected They do mexican style tacos, which is to say dont expect lettuce/tomatoes/yellow shredded cheese.....you're getting onion, cilantro, and radish on top of your choice of any of roughly a half dozen proteins on doubled up soft corn tortillas, for 2 bucks each. They give you some lime wedges and some sauce on the side. They also do tortas and burritos. No written menu is available, just ask and maybe they have it I had 4 tacos - chorizo, barbacoa, carne asada, and el pastor; and wasnt too impressed with any of them. They weren't bad at all, just small and not very flavorful There's a small picnic table if you want to eat there, but I suspect most of their business is carryout. Beverages (including Jarritos and mexican Coca Cola) can be purchased from the drivein, just a few steps away I am unsure about their hours, and recommend having a backup plan for your meal if you head here, in case they arent open This is a cash only business read more

Nope. We went there after my husband mentioned it a million times. If you worry about atmosphere, this isn't the place for you. I on the other hand don't give a hoot about the locale as long as the food is great. The food wasn't great. I got an al pastor burrito, which burritos usually aren't my thing and I genuinely regretted it afterwards. The al pastor was awful, basically no flavor and the salsas had no spice. I dont get the hype. Its comparable to a taco bell with more authentic options. Even my husband wasn't thrilled, and hes much less critical than I am. read more

Never did I think that my quest would conclude at the spry age of 33. I can now die a happy man knowing that a guy on Montgomery road is pushing the best tacos in the Greater Cincinnati Area and possibly the region. I stopped by this place yesterday after driving by a couple of times over the course of the past few weeks. They serve tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and chicharrons. In fear of being stuck on the can with a big day of moving ahead, I thought I'd play it safe and get 3 chicken tacos. I was told it would be about 5 minutes and he was almost spot on with the timing. Upon receipt of the tacos, I paid the man and walked to my car. Upon opening the box I realized El Taco Bus was a diamond in the rough. Corn tortilla, chicken, cilantro, onion, radish, lime, side of salsa rojo, and a roasted jalapeño. Truly incredible and authentic.
