El Taco Bar is quickly becoming our favorite spot in Temecula! We tried the 4-taco flight and were seriously impressed. The carnitas, marinated pork, and grilled chicken tacos were all perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The seasoning was spot-on across the board. Their salsa bar has a variety of both hot and mild salsas, plus grilled onions and peppers to customize each bite. Everything was fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff are always nice and very accommodating to help us navigate their menu around my wife's allergies. But the food is absolutely delicious! Our immediate go-to is the Surf & Turf Burrito. With the generous ratio of proteins to make sure you're getting the best of both worlds in every bite. Now I'm a sucker for a good shredded beef hard shell taco, but with that being said, I can also be very picky. Usually some places can't get the crisp right, sometimes the meat is too bland, or maybe it comes out too soggy... This place knocks it out of the park! AMBIANCE: 10/10 Really nice indoor lighted patio feel. It's perfect for a date night or any occasion. I wasn't expecting it to look so cute and authentic inside... OK so let's talk about the food... FISH TACOS: 10/10 I liked it very much! I thought it was amongst the best in town. Their biggest contender is probably Los Tacos. But, they can win on the quality, portions and pricing. The lunch special was $9.99 and it came with rice and beans. FLAUTAS: 8/10 I wish I ate this right away because if you take it home it will get soggy. The closed box and lettuce and sauces made it mushy. I think I would definitely ask if they can kindly separate the lettuce and keep the box open so the flats stay crunchy next time. It has a nice flavor and texture though... HORCHATA: 9/10 I'm very picky with horchata. To me, it can't be too sweet, too milky or too cinnamony. This horchata was close to perfect. I actually got a nice flavor of the rice, it was not too sweet or watered down and has the right amount of cinnamon. I really like and just prefer it a tad bit thicker or creamier. But, it's definitely one of the best in town! The salsa bar is so nice and CLEAN! The cleanest one I believe I've seen in town. And they are very generous with their salsa bar. There were onions, lime, pickled carrots and radishes. All were very FRESH!! Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes!
