This is my favorite spot to grab breakfast or lunch whenever I'm in town! We stopped by around lunchtime on Valentine's Day, even though it was busy, we were promptly seated. The ambiance was amazing with live music, it made the experience feel extra special. The service was quick and the food was savory and delicious as always. The freshly made tortillas are the best part! Definitely save room for dessert because it's absolutely worth it! The bathroom was clean, and they do have a kids' play area (although it was closed when we visited, I believe because it was Valentine's Day). This place has everything you're looking for not only is the service quick. The ambience is amazing too large rooms perfectly spaced tables, beautiful decoration, one of my favorite parts is the tiny coat racks. They will bring to your table to hold your bags and jackets Everything on the menu is very tempting the Chillaquiles I had were not spicy still full of flavor, and had the perfect crunch my servings was more than half my plate, the tortillas, corn and flour are freshly handmade, the free appetizer quesadillas are served first your drinks come shortly after and the food is right behind The café de olla extremely hot but once cooled has the best sweet flavor. All of the staff is super friendly. Even if there if you have to wait to get it, you get it pretty quick. The longest I've ever waited to get in was 10 minutes. The food is delicious and the restaurant is so clean. One of my favorite restaurants in Tecate. read more

Wow, this spot is a must when going to Tecate! Right away we got a spot and were asked what we would like to drink. I was planning to get a Starbucks after so I ordered an orange juice and it was fresh and not out of the carton! I ordered the chilaquiles with two eggs plate and it was delicious! I will say though, they were a little spicy of course! The restrooms were clean and smelled good too. They also had someone walking around with a bread cart and the bread was so good and fresh! I am definitely coming back and recommend this place to everyone read more

Big restaurant with plenty of parking! By the name of it I thought it was going to be a mom and pop shop. Once inside it's huge kinda reminded me of the food chains in Tijuana . I ordered chilaquiles and it was disappointing the flavor was definitely not home made it was probably salsa from a can. The prices were reasonable but definitely the name of the restaurant does not go with the taste of the food. read more

Food is excellent, great flavor, you can tell people out here have a passion for what they do. The service is top-notch. As soon as there is a table open, people rush to clean up and sweep to make space for another family to come and enjoy. Great environment, friendly people. Sept 2024, was my 1st time at the restaurant. Place was recommended by one of my co-workers. The restaurant is very open and spacious much like a cafeteria. It is nice and clean, which is a must for me. Staff is friendly and welcoming, which is lovely. We asked our waiter which are their popular dishes. He kindly responded that their mole is one of the faves & mentioned other dishes too. My husband ordered carne en su jugo and he is was very disappointed as it was more of a chile con carne. I ordered chile en nogada, which I had been wanting to try for a long time. Waiter said it was only being served in the month of sept so I took the opportunity to try something new! Yay!!! Waiter said the dish is served cold, but that it could be heated upon request, which i did but it wasn't. Shudda went for the mole. Anyway, the place is nice and clean but...the food is...just ok. Will I be going back? Probably not. Note: Finding a good place to eat in Tecate is not easy. read more

Place is fancy, but everything we ate was very bland. Some of the worst Mexican food I ever had. Chilaquiles salsa seems like it comes from a can. The vegetable omlett only had cactus on side. Great place, had the best service in the entire village if you're a new comer into Tecate this is a great choice for a great Mexican meal. Great whole in the wall. The inside of the restaurant was amazing with seating for at least 150 diners. Great place to meet up for an under-the-table business deal, nudge nudge. Food service was also pretty good. The food on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. Where do I start? Hmm... Well, I finished my education in Mexico, so my Spanish is as proficient as my English. This place was not that busy, looking around I noticed that it was pretty empty. After ordering coffee, it took the waiters 15 mins to bring us coffee, guess what?! Uggh, lukewarm coffee, we told the waiters the coffee was cold, the waiter rolled his eyes at us... another ten minutes until he remembered about us, no coffee served. Next! Scratch the coffee, okay let's order food. Soup of the day was beef soup, okay let's get the beef soup. Another twenty plus minutes waiting, yay soup arrives. Wait? What? Clear broth, that's definitely not a good sign. Mushy over cooked vegetables, yuck. Omg, broth has no flavor. Meat was over cooked by a microwave, and the broth was clear, warm to the taste, unflavored, and didn't have any oregano, misc spices, or any flavor that would resemble a beef soup. Uggh, I asked for some extra salsa to add some favor to the beef soup. Soup was cold watered down broth, with hard and over cooked pieces of beef that were slowly but surely rehydrating in the clear tasteless beef broth. This is a pathetic excuse for a soup, wtf wtf wtf? What wtf are these restaurant managers thinking? They didn't even try, they sold us whatever leftovers they had, and gave us a huge effin attitude when it was time to pay. Pathetic. Overpriced. Over rated. You will feel cheated and lied to. Avoid at all costs unless you need to strike a deal in a private place. read more
