I stopped in for the first time for a quick bite during the dinner hour. First I noticed the all of the meat and beans were way old. The meat looked dry and beans had a film on them. I should have asked what the temp was on all of the food. But I didn't I was trying to be nice! I decided maybe it was just they weren't very busy. I decided I would stay away from those items and thought ordering a quesadilla would be okay. They bagged my items up even though I said it was for dine in. I sat down anyway only to find out out they are closing early today which wasn't posted. It was around 6pm they are suppose to be open until 9pm. So that was really frustrating. The quesadilla: kind of hard to mess up but it was very soggy and the tortilla did not taste fresh. It was like eating cardboard. The staff: they were so rude and now I know why they focused at leaving early. I would not recommend this place the burger place next door which I have eaten are much friendlier and the food is good. The gorditas in the place is to DIE for. Everything made from scratch. Fresh and flavorful. Hands down the best deal in town (i would gladly pay double for what they charge). If this place ever go out of business, I would seriously cry. It's almost a Friday evening tradition, two gorditas to go topped with everything plus avocado (less than $5). BAM, dinner solved. Great lunch place! They are fast and very generous with the portions. My husband took me there for $.99 tacos on Tuesdays, I want to say we left with 12 or some crazy number like that... we fed everyone plus our neighbor for $12! I came in about six weeks ago and had a delicious plate of carnitas with tortillas. So, I was eager today to have another plate of the same. OMG!! No garlicky flavor to the meat whatsoever. Moved to a new place and found this little gem down the street. It's in a plaza where there's a variety of food places to choose from. It's a few minutes from Boeing Everett so I'm sure they catch a lot of employees during lunch hour. Walked by and saw a sign that said they had Taco Tuesday's for a buck! So of course, I was drawn in. So good. Been here every Tuesday since I've moved. They have a selection of meats to choose from so you don't get bored. My favorite is the spicy chicken. (They have carne asada tacos for $1.25). I've yet to try other stuff on the menu so I can't say if it's good or not, but having delicious tacos is a good place to start. ***4 stars because I haven't tried anything else besides tacos but I can't really complain about anything else. read more

Can't give this place any props. Went in at 830pm, asked about a couple dishes and decided to try the fajitas... was then told they don't serve bigger dishes after 830. So I left... if you're open til 9, serve your food til then; understand if it had been 850 or something like that. Worker wasn't friendly at all. Customer service is non existent, the ladies there would rather chat amongst themselves rather than help customers. They proceed to do the bare minimum , their attitude is a clear indicator of that. First visit I ordered flautas...they came from the freezer and weren't anything to write home about. Gave them a second try, enchiladas. Ordered them with shredded beef and they said they have to come in chicken because they pre-make them. I asked if they are frozen...she said no. Every Tuesday my colleagues and I, along with everyone else in the area, congregate here for a mass feeding of authentic tacos. Tuesday is a special day, as its .99 cent taco Tuesday. Yes folks, this is a practically a holiday here and my colleagues and I actually move meetings and plan schedules to get down there before the massive lunch rush (which is worth waiting in line for if you miss the early window) when tables are filled and the line is out the door. We once estimated that based not the number of people in line and those eating in a 20 minute window, devoured over 250 tacos. Lets be honest I ate five and my friends accounted for another 20. The only other tacos that are better than here are... Well there are none! And, I am going back for dinner and will feed my whole family. Love this place. Went with some people from work and it's now our favorite go-to lunch spot. Taco Tuesday is awesome, but the lines get pretty long around lunchtime. I've been there about 5 times so far and the Carne Asada burrito is so good. They pack the meat on there. They have the authentic double corn tortilla tacos which are awesome. The service is really good in my opinion. Yes, it can take some time when you're waiting in line especially if you are behind people who have to be asked several times what they want on their burrito/taco/whatever, but it's worth the wait. read more

I am always on the quest for good traditional Mexican food. In the puget sound area, authentic Mexican food is elusive to say the least. That is why I am so glad that I discovered El Sabor de Chihuahua. This place is really really great. All of their stuff is homemade, including the tortillas. Everything is super fresh and so very flavorful. This is not the place where everything on the menu is just a bland pile of refried beans and melted cheese. These are really flavorful family recipes. Their Gorditas are amazing. Handmade from scratch right before your eyes, and so so tasty. Also had their tacos and burritos, which are great as well. My wife and I both love this place. We probably have eaten here once a week for the past couple months. We really hope the word gets out and this place does well. It's in a nondescript strip mall near Boeing, so I'm nervous my favorite Mexican food won't get the exposure it deserves. Also, the place is run by a man and his wife and daughters, no random minimum wage workers here. They all really care about giving you great food and service. Very nice people! Tried this place for the first time and it was horrible. First when i was about to order employees are rude and really show they are not happy to be there and rush you to order, made me already not wanna eat there anymore but my husband really wanted to try it. I order sopes with beans and rice and to start off they are pre-packaged and red in colored (actual ones are just like a corn tortilla) that were just heated up and rice and beans barely warm, the rice seem to either be sitting there a long time or not cooked through some gains were hard. My husband and daughter had the carne asada tacos they were ok. They do have $1 tacos on taco tuesday but better off going to another place. The set up is like chipolte which is different from other mexican places and open kitchen where you can see cooking the food. Price wise is the same as any other place. I have never left a review before but i just wanted to save peoples time about going to this place. I would rated no stars but its not an option. Depending on the day of the week you come in, this lunch spot can either be "good" or "the best". Taco Tuesday is now a regular occurrence for myself and my coworkers; they have cultivated a cult out of us due to the excellent prices and their generous portions of fresh toppings. I've also tried the tacos with Barbacoa, carne asada and carnitas all of the meats were delicious. The people who work there are very nice. Prices are fair too. It's simple, healthy Mexican food. The place is clean and presentable. I have a preference to the gorditas and the sopes, but one suggestion I have is to present a few vegetarian options as well. I just tell them 'no meat' and just stick to pinto beans as a protein substitute. read more

The food is decent, but lately we've been treated rudely. Whenever a friend and I split an order of fries (because it's a lot of food), the older lady looks really annoyed and then severely rations all the toppings. (Yet you read reviews about how they generously heap toppings on regular orders, what's the deal?) Then she always tries to make us pay full price for two orders at the end! I wouldn't mind a slight surcharge for splitting an order, but we ALWAYS have to defend ourselves from paying full price on half the fries with less than half the toppings. Seriously, I always leave annoyed that I'm barely given any cheese and 3 slices of tomato. Then she always whispers to the cashier (like we're not standing right there) to charge us for 2 full meals. I got excited when I saw that, but very disappointed when I saw the rice and beans. Any good Mexican, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN, restaurant must for the love of Pancho Villa have good rice and beans! That is the first and most important test of the kitchen. The refried beans were dry and lacking the essential lard flavor. I swear these were right out of a can from Fred Meyer. The rice was a faint yellow color, and had no flavor. The rice had no chile or other vegetables for seasoning. The ever-important sabor de pollo was lacking and it really would have helped to fry the rice in corn oil for that great finish and color. The enchiladas were shockingly old and not fresh. The tortillas were hard which was proof they had been cooked much earlier in the day and the dry chicken had no flavoring. And, the enchilada sauce tasted like that crap my gringo mom would buy at Safeway to make her enchiladas when I was a kid. There was barely any cheese on top and it tasted as if they used a microwave to reheat the enchiladas. My wife had flautas which were very dry and also old. Chicken filling had no flavor and she said frozen gringo Costco flautas would have kicked these bland things in the ass. All three salsas were watery and had no signs of blended veggies and chiles. The soda dispenser was out of ice, so my diet Pepsi was lukewarm. Bathroom had no paper towels and if the pico and guac had not been decent I would have given this restaurant no stars. Staff were native Mexican and Spanish speakers. Also were polite, but forgot to add pico, guac and soda to my bill, so I had to run my card again or they would have mistakenly given it to me without charging. Very disappointed I only left a dollar as a tip. I am still trying to find real Mexican food in Everett.
