Menudo, burritos, flautas, caldos, all good. Takeout is quick, the people are friendly.

This is a little gem hidden in a small shopping center at the edge of Glendale . Had the huevos rancheros and they were awesome . We came on a Sunday morning and they were getting busy. Staff was friendly and attentive. Gotta give props to the crunchy tacos combo (just like Mom's, very crunchy and slightly greasy). The rice is tasty and fluffy. The refried beans are creamy and on point flavor wise. The Horchata and cafe de jolla super tasty. Come and get it!!!

Wow...Tucked in a small, strip mall next to Vons, we found this gem or a restaurant. I always see it when I park when I go to Vons or the Dollar Store, but never stopped in to try it. I realized I have been wasting time and money on other Mexican restaurants... El Ruby is great on all levels. Great Service. Great Value. Menu with many offerings. Free chips and salsa! Pictures are one thing but the taste is phenomenal! I got the carnitas wet burrito and my wife got the taco platter. With a side of radish, deep fried jalapeños and lemon wedges...You couldn't ask for anything more! Even beer for $3.99 a bottle! If there is anything about my visit that I was not fond of was the taste of the refried beans. Maybe it was just me, but they didn't taste like traditional beans cooked in lard. They reminded me of vegetarian beans. Not to say that it is a bad thing, just not my cup of tea. Ambiance 9/10 Service 10/10 Food 9/10 Bathrooms 8/10 Cleanliness 9/10 Value 10/10 Will I Return? Friendly service but the food and portion for the price is very questionable. Restaurants need to make sure they make good impressions especially in this economy. I dont think i will be coming back to this place. Spent 17$ for the food in the pics.

I'm so glad I found this place on yelp! Was craving chilaquiles verdes so headed over after placing an order online. Pickup was super easy and the people working there were very friendly! If u have the time it seems like a very nice place to dine in at, their menu options are really good! Chilaquiles are usually hit or miss but this place was amazing! Beans were so good, rice was so good, Egg was cooked perfectly runny, and chilaquiles were yummy! I do wish that the chips were a little more crunchier but that's what I get for ordering ahead of time. I also feel like there was some sort of flavoring lacking but u couldn't figure out what it was, maybe spice?? Regardless I would try it again!

Yummy chips and salsa, salsa was perfectly seasoned, lightly spicy, and perfect!

The service was outstanding; they refilled said chips and AMAZING salsa three times. The food (generous portions) came our quickly and they refilled the waters before being asked. What can you make vegan? I asked, since the menu didn't mention anything specifically. The waiter, unbothered, began listing what they could make me but I stopped him pretty quickly at enchiladas. They ended up being good but the star of the plate was their vegan rice; it was clearly different from what all the meat eaters got on their plates. There's was yellow/orange, but mine was green and fragrant- cilantro and lime clearly central in the cooking. SO GOOD! I will definitely come back for the service and to try something else from the ready list of vegan entrees they seemed happy to offer off-menu.

The nachos were absolutely amazing--one of the best parts of the meal. Before we even ordered, they brought out chips with green and red salsa, and even those chips were delicious. However, the enchiladas were not good at all. Still, the nachos were so good, with guacamole and cheese coming together perfectly, that I would definitely go back whenever I'm craving nachos. Lately, I've been really enjoying watching World Cup soccer games, and it was fun to watch and cheer together while having dinner there. One thing I noticed: the women's restroom was not well maintained at first. There was no toilet seat cover and no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, so I felt it could have been cleaner and better managed. However, when I went back a second time, I saw a staff member actively restocking supplies, handing out toilet seat covers and toilet paper to others, and communicating with housekeeping over a radio about what was needed. That made me feel better about how they manage the facility. Overall, from the hostess who seated us to the servers, all the staff were very friendly, which made the experience even better. And, the nice atmosphere is a plus.

First off, it's a beautiful restaurant with Spanish touches throughout. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant in the courtyard. In the courtyard, there was a musician playing the guitar. Loved, LOVED his rendition of Hotel California. Really put me in a relaxing mood. The food here is unbelievably good with a few minor exceptions. Here is a run down of everything we had: -Patatas Bravas 5/5 stars. The roasted potatoes were delicious and the creamy sauce drizzled on top made it that much better. -Croquetas de Jamon y Pollo 4/5 stars. I remember it being tasty, but it wasn't as memorable as some of the other things I tried. -Gambas al Ajillo 5/5 stars. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavored. Even the bread, which tasted like sourdough, was fantastic. -Calamares Fritos 10/5 stars. No, that is not a typo. I usually avoid calamari like the plague since I'm not a fan of the taste. Here, however, I couldn't stop eating the calamari. I was popping them in my mouth like popcorn. There was something about the batter they used to coat the calamari. It had a satisfying crunch to it. Didn't even need the sauce it came with. -Prime Ribeye (prepared medium rare) 3/5 stars. The steak was okay. It was a bit undercooked and didn't have a nice crust on it. -Papitas Fritas: 10/5 stars. Once again, not a typo. The fries here were something special, which is saying a lot since fries are ubiquitous. The fries were delicately crispy and delicious. -Jamon Iberico Cebi de Campo with Manchego Cheese 4/5 stars. The Jamon Iberico was good, but not great. It had a slightly weird after taste that I usually don't get from high quality Jamon Iberico. -Tarta De Queso and Churros con Chocolate 3/5 stars. These were the only two items that I was truly disappointed with. There was nothing special about these dessert items. The churros were bland. -Cucumber Mint Cooler and Devil's Day Off 5/5 stars. Both of these drinks were refreshing. The Cucumber Mint Cooler, in case you're wondering, could best be described as a well executed, non-alcoholic cucumber mojito. The Devil's Day Off was a fizzy grapefruit and cinnamon delight. I have to end this review with the service. It was top notch. Our server, Robert, was not only extremely friendly, but helpful and informative. He walked us through the menu and talked us out of ordering certain items so that we wouldn't over order food or get items too similar to one another. At one point, we were debating whether to order the Churrasco a la Plancha (8 oz ribeye) or 12 oz ribeye. One person from our family wanted the fritas that only came with the Churrasco while another person (me) wanted the 12 oz ribeye. Robert resolved the disagreement by suggesting that we just order the 12 oz ribeye and they'll throw in the fritas for free (which they did). At the end of the meal, he made sure to point out that the gratuity had already been added to the bill and that there was no need to add a tip. We appreciated the heads up, otherwise we may not have noticed that. If it's not clear from my write up, I really enjoyed this place, despite a few items that missed the mark. If it wasn't so far away from where I live, I would have been back this weekend to try out more items from the menu.
