    Sandillada

This place ALWAYS delivers. I'm so mad I've never had the Sandillada before because it was so much fun! It's topped off with a sour belt of candy, a chamoy straw, and frozen chunks of watermelon. I don't know where this was during the summer, but it'll definitely get me through next year! The quesadilla with Hot Cheetos was meaty and cheesy with a satisfying crunch, exactly what I wanted it to be. The tacos can be very onion forward, so if that's not something you enjoy, there's more than enough on the menu to catch your fancy.

Was craving birria ramen and didn't want to drive to the Heights or Stafford to the other place. Luckily, Yelp helped me out as usual! This place is off the beaten path for sure and located in a small shopping center with an eclectic mix of shops. Plenty of seating inside, seems clean. Only note is that it's at least 80 degrees inside with no fans or a/c. I was fine but it may not be comfortable for others. At 7 pm on a weekday, it was not busy at all. A couple families came in for take out and ice cream. Service was 5/5 - a very nice lady sat us and took our order. She speaks English but our convo was half Spanish and half English. I was thankful for my high school classes. It took about 15 min for food to come out, which is more than reasonable when food is being made to order. Food and price were all 5/5. - Agua fresca - melon and pineapple: Both were very fresh but I liked the pineapple more. The melon was a bit heavy for my preference. Large size comes out in a giant cup. - Cheesy birria tacos: Comes in a set of 4. Smaller than some other places, but more than enough for a meal. Cheese perfectly melted and shell nice and crisp. Comes out piping hot and fresh with a container of consommé and some very green sauce. Alone, the consommé tasted salty, but for dipping tacos it was perfect. Meat was tender and flavorful - overall very good! - Birria ramen: This was perfect and hit the spot. It was served in an instant ramen bowl with the broth and birria meat added. The broth was savory and the noodles soft the way I like them. There's an option to add two cheesy birria tacos for an extra $2-$2.50, but I passed since we already had the order of 4. This came out soooo hot and stayed that way for 20+ min. It was fantastic. The broth was so good - it's different than the consommé. I couldn't finish so took it home. The lady saw us walking out with the ramen bowl and stopped us on the way out to dump it in a to go container for us. So sweet! -Gordita birria: Maybe we don't know what a real Gordita is as we're only familiar with the fast food one, but this was not what we expected. It was very good, but had no idea how best to eat/tackle it. It was birria, fresh lettuce, sour cream, queso fresca sitting between two fried tortillas. It was super messy to eat, especially after we drizzled the consommé on it. ~$40 before tip, so pretty reasonable for two people. Drinks alone were ~$9-10 but that's less than you would pay at most tea shops. Great place to satisfy a birria craving!

Good used to be amazing! I have never been in person but always ordered on uber eats and it was amazing! Always got the burrito pizza till one day I ordered and they just didn't deliver it. Made me change the order. What I got costed more but I still was okay. It wasn't as good but I was just gonna go back for the birria pizza another day. Now I look and they don't even have it on the menu OR the taco platter they advertise and whenever you call they NEVER answer. Big let down. Then we ordered the Munchie box that comes with like 8 items and they sent us 4 tacos . Yall stay away they scam!!!!

5/5 for service and location Came to check them out for dinner. Staff was super friendly and patient. Even offered us ice cream samples while we waited which was very kind. Interior is spacious for sit in dining and they have a variety of items on their menu ranging from tacos to birria pizza. A neat little spot to grab dessert as well. Birria Cheesy Tacos 3/5 I thought this dish was okay. Not as much flavor as I was hoping but it definitely served me well for dinner. Green salsa was a super green color which i thought was quite unique, but the taste was yum with a nice punch. I wish the corn tortillas held their shape a little better too. Beef Fajita Nachos 3.5/5 you can get these with nacho chips or tortilla chips. Covered with plenty of cheese, but not as much fajita as my bf would have liked. Pineapple Aguas Frescas - 4/5 super refreshing! I would have it again for sure! Cucumber Lime Aguas Fresca - 3.5/5 a little watered down and not as flavorful compared to other ones we've had. Would like to see it have more of a cucumber flavor

If I could vote this place 10 stars I would. I just found out of this place about a week and a half ago & I'm already in love with how AMAZING the food is here on top of the wonderful service. Family owned & everybody is very welcoming & attentive! The food hits every bite, I literally came here 3 days in a row. That's how good it is. If you love Birria & great authentic Mexican food. THIS. IS. YOUR. SPOT!! Support the business, you won't regret it !

The food is good, but their pricing is jacked up. I went up to ask and was told it was the price when the menu said otherwise... don't think I'll come back... picking a price and not using menu prices seems kinda foul.

This place is really interesting. They literally have everything from tacos to ice cream to chicken alfredo and salads. Since this was my first time coming here I wanted to try the birria and it was delicious! The plate of birria tacos is $12.95 and comes with 5 cheesy tacos, consome, salsa verde, cilantro & onion, limes, radishes, and cucumber. I didn't try the ice cream, but it looked delicious. They have such a wide variety of dishes I wanted to try and will definitely be back to try more.

First time! Been seeing them on Instagram a lot so I decided to try them with my bros. We tried the Birrias. I've been looking for the best one in Houston and have been trying different ones from different places. So far, this one falls on 3rd place. The birria tacos and quesadilla was great but the soup lacked in flavor. It needs more flavor to taste it when you deep the food in. That's the highlight. The aguas was good-a bit too sweet but was ok. I remember the place was a bit gloomy. They have a cute wall art and their food presentation is A! So hopefully they put more lights to make the place brighter. It will help in showing off the store more on social media. People love taking food pictures especially in good lighting.

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

One of my friends took me here and we all got to try a lot of stuff. We ordered: Horchata (small for $3.49), Quesadillas with beef, Quesadillas with chicharron, Gorditas with beef, and Gorditas with chicharron. I don't like cinnamon but the horchata was addicting and it paired so well with the food. My friend got their Melon Agua Fresca and he said it was really refreshing as well. The gorditas were stuffed and they were so delicious, the cheese was melting and the bread was warm and not dry. The Quesadillas were my favorite. You put both the red sauce and the green sauce on it, a lot of lime juice, and it's perfect. I forgot to order cilantro on mine but they do give you it at no extra cost. The prices are so cheap and you get so much food. Everything is around $3 and it will fill you up. Each of us totaled out to be about $10-15 per person and we were stuffed. I would definitely come back here over and over again! My friend said the only bad thing about this place is when you order to go, they won't give you a lot (no lime, no hot sauces, less meat, etc.) so definitely get dine-in.

There's a parking lot, but we went on the weekend, and while the interior didn't look overly full, it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is clean. Everything is pretty much green and white. There's covered patio seating. You order from a window and there's a large menu printed nearby The menu offers all sorts of tacos, meats, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, quesabirras, sides, and even kids meals. You can get beer, margaritas, and non-alcoholic drinks. There's also a breakfast menu The food was good, and it didn't take too long to come out. My main issue was the service. The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait. Just go up to the pick-up window when it's supposed to be ready for a painless interaction There's a little bar area where you can get pre-packaged (to-go) salsas, pickled onions, limes, etc etc etc. the salsas are tomatillo, habanero, and jalapeño (I believe) You can order margaritas to go, which we did!
