Friday night and the place was packed! Our server was great and friendly. It took 48 minutes for my chimichangas to come out. The were over fried and just basically junk. My friends enchiladas came out looking like soup and tasted like it came out if a can. So bad she had to send it back... If the back of the house was as good as the front if the house this place could rock! read more

Stopped in to look at a menu as I am a picky eater and was curious to see what they had available. The decor wasn't too bad, however the music was a little to loud and in your face. After looking over the menu and seeing how late it was I ordered 2 orders of churros to go. The host took my money and I waited for a half hour for her to come back to tell me that they didn't have any more. When she went to get a manager to give my money back no one seemed to know how to operate the POS system. The manager told me he was sorry and that the truck doesnt come in till tomorrow. We that right off the bat tells me the food is not fresh and is frozen. Lost a lot of points since they say right on the menu its fresh. Also they need to figure out the parking lot as that is a main reason outback didnt do well, there is no opening to the lot in the front and the entrance in the back is not labeled so you cannot tell where to enter. read more

My mom placed order for take out at 4:45pm and was told it would be ready in 35 minutes. I arrive at 5:20pm and its not ready. I stood there for an 50 minutes waiting for my food as they give everyone who came after me their food. I was not given and update while I was waiting. I will not recommend ordering food from here for takeout as you will be waiting an hour to get it even when you have placed the order in advanced! Very poor customer service. read more

The chips are crisp and the salsa is fresh with just the right amount of zip. The guacamole is tasty and goes nicely with the chips. The menu has enough variety to please everyone. This place was a step below OK. Nothing I'm in a rush to get back to. The menu is your basic Mexican fare, think of any Mexican fast-food place. Because of this the food is basically microwaved meals. My food was over-warmed, and full of grease. The rest of the family fared no better. We weren't in a drinking mood, so can't comment on the drinks. I've heard other good reviews, but I'm not sure what these people were looking for. Jan 2018. Tried to come me here with friends on Cinco de Mayo but was totally crowded so decide to meet up with our friends for another attempt. The service was great. Very attentive with drinks, food, and chips. My husband had strawberry margaritas while our friends had the jalapeño and mango margarita. They enjoyed them very much. For food I had the seafood quesadilla which was very tasty. Very different than other ones I've had and not a huge portion which was perfect. One friend had seafood tacos, other had a chicken dish and my husband had a variety of different things which he loved. Big portion for him so had that for the next days lunch. Overall great Mexican. Dont know why this place is not rated better. I have been there many times over the past couple years. Lunch, dinner, bar.. doesnt matter. The service is always great. They are on it with freshly made chips and salsa as soon as you sit. Waitstaff greet you promptly and get your drink/food order. Food arrives quick and hot. Quality is consistently great. Moving from Manchester to Concord has forced us to give up our favorite eateries and try new local places. In the past we would go to La Caretta or Shorty's. Or El Jimador. So this place seemed similar. We gave it a shot. It was okay. Nothing to write home about. It's nicely decorated and the staff is friendly enough. There is even outdoor seating. The menu is your basic mexican fare. Al la carte as well as combinations available. And of course free chips and salsa. The only thing that wowed us were the drinks. Those were exceptional. The food was basic. My shrimp fajitas were short of flavor and even though my husband cleaned his plate it was more out of hunger than excitement. He said his chimichangas were also bland and the chile rellano was inferior to La Caretta's by far. I think if we go back here it will be legit just to have some drinks. read more

My family of five ate at El Rodeo today for dinner. We got there early; around 4pm on a Saturday. We were promptly seated in a booth and served warm fresh chips and delicious salsa. The waiter, Fernando, was very courteous and responsive. The service was much better than other Mexican restaurants I've been to such as La Carreta or Hermanos. I ordered the Enchiladas Suprema, which was served hot and fresh. Each enchilada had a different filling and was smothered in a wonderful red sauce, sour cream and lettuce/tomatoes, and was to me, the ultimate Mexican comfort food. My spouse ordered the Aroz con Pollo and loved it. I tried the chicken from the Aroz con Pollo and it was well seasoned. The meat in both dishes was very tender and appetizing. The plates are also gorgeous. My children all found something they liked on the 5.99 kids menu: quesadillas, tacos, rice and beans. We also ordered dessert as a splurge, which was promptly served when we ordered it. I shared the fried ice cream with my kids, which was crunchy on the outside with a solid good quality vanilla ice cream on the inside. My spouse ordered the triple chocolate truffle cake which was very rich and creamy. Any chocolate lover would appreciate this bliss. The bathrooms were spotless, as was the silverware and dishes -- these are things I am nit-picky about at restaurants. The servers were all polite and accommodating. For our family of five, with a 20% tip, it cost $72.00, which is very reasonable for the amount of food and high quality service that was offered. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be back to try more items from their menu, which is conveniently online (this was one of the reasons I picked the place). It has bumped my old favorite, Hermano's from my list of favorite New England Mexican food restaurants. read more

The food is delicious. However the takeout order wait is ridiculous. I have picked up here and more than a few times have had to wait at least 30 minutes (OR MORE) to get the food. I go in at the time it is supposed to be ready (30 minutes from the time I order) and then wait an additional 30 minutes. It's like they place my order when I get there. I only gave it one star because ZERO was not an option.. Decided to give this place a try by happenstance yesterday. Was in the area, saw the sign and was in the mood for some good Mexican food. To be fair l did like the salsa that was served with the chips but that's where the love affair ended. Everything else was utter crap, lacking both in flavor and freshness.. There also had to be some national cheese shortage as there was only trace amounts in both my nachos and quesadilla.. The chili was some sort of creamed corn consistency mess.. Explained my displeasure to the both the waiter and the front desk.. No resolution was offered so l sent back my still full plates, paid my $30 check and left.. Never again.. I like this place a lot. Each of the city's Mexican joints have their own style and flavor...and all very good. El Rodeo is likely the most authentic, least Americanized of them all. If you like La Careta, then you'll get El Rodeo. The staff is friendly and fast. The margaritas are big. We love El rodeo. The food is delicious and the drinks are amazing. Unfortunately they must have been hit with the same staffing crisis that other restaurants have. Tonight was the first time we ever received poor service. We sat in the bar area and had to wait 15 min to get the bartenders attention. Not a big deal in a crowded bar but a much different when the bartender is joking and chummy with the other patrons and ignoring other customers. No fret we will be back. If tonight's bartender is working, we simply will choose a different area to sit. It's a must try. read more

Kids, you need to work at the Olive Garden for one month to learn how to serve and manage customers. Truly you do this you're golden. Pros: The chips and salsa are quite good. The product itself is good but not great. The beans were very mushy, the product overall was alright but could use some work Cons: I could have invented Cylons to serve us faster than we were served. They just don't know how to manage tables and this was at 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon, the place was not busy but the tables were just poorly managed (Hint: take the drink order, go get it, ask the next table for their drink order, then go to the original table and get their meal order, go back and get the drinks, then...you get the picture) Overall: If you want Mexican it is acceptable but there are most likely better places in the Concord area. read more

First off, the manager is great guy who puts his customers before anyone else. I constantly see him running around appeasing to everyone and making sure that everyone has what they need. The wait time for food is never long and the timing between chips and salsa (which are tremendous) and your appetizer or meal is always perfect. The food is of the best quality. Great food, drinks are always on point with a good selection. Customer service is mediocre and I've walked in to make a reservation 2 times now within 3 months and never received a phone call. Also had friends who were made aware tables were available while I was still waiting to receive my call. I've had a waiter cut me off at 2 margs and Other times never questioned. Request a Karla Rita and you will not be disappointed. My friend and I are regulars here and we are treated like family. As soon as we sit down are drinks are given to us. We have never been disappointed in the food. I usually love this place. We got takeout, tipped heavy bc of the VID, I specifically asked the hostess if our order was correct bc we live far, went home to meet guests, and found at first glance that two of our correctly labeled meals were not correct were not what we ordered - (we had ordered two burrito Jaliscos) and ended up with a bean burrito and a chicken burrito in queso fresco. It was too late to head back into Concord. We called, we emailed, we sent photos, we did not get a response. I ate what they gave me which was delicious, but a bean burrito (or a chicken one) does little to take the place of a Jalisco with red sauce... sad face. read more

I like both places for different reasons but when it comes to price there is no way you will get a better deal at Hermanos.. If you like LaCarrera you will like El Rodeo . We frequent this restaurant as it is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. It will be a long time before we go back as tonight they asked for our names & phone number for contact tracing. When we declined the hostess said it was required by the manager, so we left and went somewhere that appreciates us dining at their establishment. Maybe they'll rethink turning customers away for exercising their right not to go on someone's list only to later be harassed by an overreaching government "because you may have been exposed to a virus".
