Although this place feels a little more cozy than our regular El Rodeo in Mooresville, I can't say I enjoyed it as much. Sure, we were seated promptly and brought out our beverages and complementary salsa/chips, but even those weren't as good. My wife likes a margarita and this one was served in a standard beverage glass. It wasn't as frozen, but did seem stronger in alcohol than she likes. The salsa and chips were okay (I can't complain too much since they were free), but the salsa seemed thin and with less flavor. My wife ordered a taco salad with chicken. It was fine. Not much better or worse. I ordered the Carne Asada tacos that come with beans and rice on the side. I noticed that the dish was served differently than I am used to. These were on an open rack already prepared with some small sauces and minced pickled veggies on the side. Our regular place serves the torillas wrapped in foil while the steak and veggies are served on a searing skillet that brings out the fond in the steak. This meat was dull in color and lacked flavor and became a bit rubbery from cooking at too low a heat level. It just wasn't as flavorful as our regular El Rodeo. The food was okay. The service from the kitchen was quick and the waitress didn't keep us waiting too long at any point. But I can't see coming back here when there is another El Rodeo that is closer to my home and that I consider my favorite place for Carne Asada tacos in the metro area. Review #3661

This is a pretty basic faux-Mexican restaurant. It's tucked away in a strip mall near a big office complex so they have a lot of dinner and weekend specials to try to attract the non-work crowd. The food is pretty much what you would expect from an American Mexican restaurant in a strip mall: crunchy tacos with cheese and lettuce, burritos, enchiladas, queso, guacamole, refried beans, etc. Pretty nondescript, but tasted OK. I would never chose to come here, but the price is right and the service very fast (the food was on our table in under 10 minutes). Better than fast food, but by no means good.

Stopped here for lunch today with my co workers. It was very busy as it was taco Tuesday but we had no issues getting a table. Service was fast and the food was great. Even had leftovers to eat for dinner. I ordered chicken fajitas and they were fabulous. Everyone cleaned their plates. I didn't eat the chips and salsa but my co workers indulged, and they looked great and fresh. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Will return on my next trip to town!

The food is pretty good. The standard Mexican food you would expect around this area. It's not my favorite one in town but it is pretty good. The food came out fresh and tasted good. They had decent specials with pretty good discounts. We tried their fajita skillet for two with beef, chicken and shrimp and it all tasted really good. The beef wasn't chewy and the the chicken was tender. Their pico de gallo has a kick to it! It was a lot of meat for a good price. Service as meh - our waiter didn't really have a personality, no smile or anything. When we got up to pay the check at the counter we had to wait for awhile and another customer actually came and was waiting behind us to pay as well. It wasn't that busy, but they seemed low on staff as everyone was jumping in and out of the kitchen.

Check out the specials for a good deal in some yummy food!

We were seated in their outdoor area where the heaters were not turned on and the day had been rainy and cold so most of the table was cold throughout our meal. The service was a bit slow but it being cinco de mayo, we understood that things may move a little slower than any other day. They had some specials for the day but I got my old faithful, Maria's Enchiladas with steak. It comes with rice and beans and it's just so so soooo good!!! I also got the Arroyo Margarita which was good but def could tell they were adding a bit more sour mix to the drink. Overall, it was a good experience but I will try to come back again on a day that is not as busy.

Even with the rush, I was able to snag a seat quite quickly. I was so impressed by how efficiently the staff cleared and prepared my table; it's those little touches of attentiveness that really make a difference. I decided to keep things classic and ordered the Asada Tacos. The service was remarkably swift my order arrived in under ten minutes, which is exactly the kind of efficiency I adore. While the initial presentation was a bit more understated than I anticipated, the flavor was a total 8/10 triumph! The staff was also incredibly accommodating when it came to my preferences; they brought over a lovely selection of chips and sauces, but were perfectly gracious when I mentioned I prefer to avoid the heat. These are truly some of the best tacos I've had the pleasure of trying lately. I will most certainly be a regular here!

You have to buy a basket of chips, but it's very inexpensive and so worth it for the salsa bar! Lastly, the Al pastor is the bomb. The restaurant is sleek and has a cool vibe, but we immediately realized it was not going to be what we thought of when we saw "street tacos" mentioned during Google search. It's more of a metropolitan American Soul fusion place, with a heavy emphasis on loaded, uniquely flavored tacos instead of traditional Mexicana. The server was wonderful in explaining their menu and gave multiple recommendations, which I went with all of her great suggestions once I told her what I was craving. My husband didn't enjoy his appetizer, saying it tasted too sweet instead of savory for him, but the server was great at being aware of our plates and took the appetizer off our bill when she noticed he wasn't eating it without us even mentioning it. I got three different tacos, and the only one I didn't enjoy was due to the Mac n cheese that was stuffed in it. It just didn't taste or feel right having a taco with macaroni that was pushed in so densely that it became a sponge. The other two were great! My husband gave his burrito a 3/5, as he felt it was too much one note. Overall, don't come here if you're looking for upscale Mexicana, but instead want to enjoy interesting fusion flavors and fun cocktails. Great place for a group outing or celebration!

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10.
