Honestly, we usually avoid chicken at Mexican restaurants because it tends to be dry but this wasn't the case at all. He devoured the entire meal. Not a single bite left! I ordered the Taco Special 4 tacos & a Favorito for $11.99 While the meat options are a bit limited for the special (I wanted carne asada), I went with the birria and I have no regrets! These tacos were bomb! The meat was super flavorful and juicy, and you can choose to have them topped with onions and cilantro. This was also my first time trying a Favorito it tasted similar to Jarritos. We all went with the pineapple flavor and loved it! Be ready to recieve huge portions if you come! All of the plates we ordered were massive. The plate that stood out to us was the tilapia. It was crunchy on the outside, but still moist on the inside! New to the area, husband and I love Mexican food so we decided we'll hit up every spot within a 5 mile radius to start. I think we came on a weekday night, starving and ready for some delicious Mexican food. We got sat in the bar area, the entire restaurant was pretty quiet. The bartender was super nice, we had questions as first timers and she gave us a few recommendations. I ordered the Al Pastor Tacos because that's usually my favorite go-to. My husband ordered a burrito dish with all the fixings (forgot what it was called) but I liked his dish better. As much as I wanted to like my tacos, the pork was really dry and difficult to chew. I don't like to be an inconvenience and have to ask for a remake because I worked in the serving industry for 12 years and I just feel bad. I originally went to the one in Lynwood and it was amazing. I got a bean and rice burrito at a reasonable price and it was delicious. But the thing that was great about it was that they included grilled onion and jalapeño and red and green sauce. I've been to the Everett location twice now. The first time they gave me a bean and rice platter instead of a burrito, with no salsa at all no jalapeño no onion nothing. I came back again, this time they at least gave me a burrito but there was zero salsa either in the burrito or on the side. Nothing just a plain fry burrito with no onion jalapeno or salsa. The workers all spoke Spanish and the cashier of course spoke both. They were friendly and helpful. We got queso birria, adobada tacos, and a side of rice. The upcharges are laughable. You pay extra for calling ahead, placing an online order, and now even if you're going in person and getting to go you are now charged for the food containers. But fried ice cream?? Where it is? I ended up getting churros instead of Fried ice cream which was on the menu. Why am I not getting it?? Here's my receipt and photo. How disappointed I am!! During the height of the pandemic, my family and I were ordering in about once a week. We switched off as to who got to choose the restaurant and pretty much every time it was my turn? El Rinconsito is what I chose. Their rice and beans...I could live on those and always order 2 extra so that I have them in the fridge for the nest couple of days lunch. I almost never leave reviews unless they are positive but I'm so sad about this experience that I need to vent. Myself, my partner, and son are all sick and I was excited to order out instead of cooking. I've never ordered from here before and was so excited to try it! I was disappointed. My shredded beef in my burrito tasted like unseasoned, clumps of fat with a little meat. The tortilla was bland mush under the red sauce that also had no flavor. I found a hair in my burrito and finally gave up after eating another mouthful of fat from my burrito. I'm an Arizona native and used to live off all the different 24/7 'bertos taco shops (Filiberto's, Roberto's, Juliobertos, etc) and have been on a mission to find Mexican food that would get more than just a passing grade in the PNW. It almost seemed impossible to find anything pleasing north of SFO as a SW native, but then I found El Rinconsito and wasn't as desperate to fly home just for the food. The taco shops here aren't 24/7, but they are open until at least midnight, sometimes later. They have refried beans (not this PNW black bean only nonsense), and carne asada tacos, and al pastor, and cheesy enchiladas dripping in melted cheese and red sauce. Due to covid the salsa bar is out but there is prepackaged salsa to go and the chili verde is just like home. They have aguas frescas and Mexican coke. They have crunchy chicken flautas, and my favorite steak ranchero in a savory sauce with onions and peppers. They have decent veggie options which can be difficult at other Mexican restaurants like veggie and sautéed mushroom quesadillas and veggie tacos. If I want my greasy late night street Mexican food fix it's here. If I want something a little less greasy there are options when navigating the menu too (but the greasy cheesy things are the best). But yeah, this makes my little AZ heart happy. read more
