My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday afternoon on a whim, and we're happy we did! I ordered the chilaquiles with pork, and he got the pollo al pastor. Both were generously sized and very tasty. As far as drinks, I noticed they had lime Jarritos (my favorite!) but I had the cane sugar Coca Cola instead... yum! My boyfriend had their pineapple soda and that was excellent as well. For dessert we opted for the flan (it is tradition for us to try it everywhere we go) and it was super tasty. The entire bill came out to about $30 before tip which we were super pleased with. We discovered this place a year ago as we drove by the restaurant. So we walked in and ordered a few items (Quesadilla, guacamole, enchilada). All of them were delicious. Since then we have been back here several times and the consistency is unbelievable. The place is run by Victor and his wife Erica. They cook everything themselves and therefore are able to maintain the high quality. Always finish your meal with Tres Leches cake, which is Erica's specialty. Victor makes 3 kinds of salsa (super hot, hot and mild). My favorites are the super hot and hot. Try them and you will be pleased if you love spicy food. Mild is also very good but I enjoy spicy food. Recently, we celebrated our grandson's first birthday. Victor catered for the event. We had 60+ guests. Everyone enjoyed the food and many have said they would eat at this restaurant. Victor and his brother Jose stayed for the entire event and served everyone fresh hot food. The best part about the food is that it is not salty at all, which we find to be an issue at most Mexican places. Ate here a couple of days ago. Needed to check it off my list. Easy to find and plenty of parking out back, but have your phone flashlight ready if it's dark out as the narrow alleys connecting the parking to the front have absolutely no lights. Inside the place is genuine and clean, definitely know you are at a Mexican restaurant. The lady who took my order was very nice and polite as she juggled a phone order and I. She helped me go thru the menu even tho it's not too complicated, I just wanted to be sure I ordered what I think I wanted lol. As for the food, while it was good and I ate all of it :), I may have had different expectations - similar to a previous review I did between 2 different Chinese restaurants. I had an order of the Empanadas - the full order not the appetizer, apparently the difference is the appetizer has about 6 smaller Empanadas while the full order is 2 normal sized ones. While they were good, tasty and full of flavor, I guess I'm more used to a thinner shell which is kind of flaky. These were thicker and more like deep fried. Again, good, but different from my expectation. I also had an order of the soft shell tacos. These were also good with a lot of flavor. I must be a picky person because I am not a huge fan of cilantro (I believe that's what it's called) and there was plenty of it in the tacos. It was an order of 3 tacos which I did eat despite the cilantro. It's not that it becomes inedible for me, I can just do without it. I like the place and I enjoyed the food and would be open to trying out other menu items. Price was fair and service was good enough for me to give it 3 stars this time out. This place is excellent. Have gone a few times now and never disappointed. Very authentic and the type of place to try something that I have never had before or not familiar with. Typically when I get Mexican the rice and beans aren't very tasty and go to waste, but not here as they are very good and worth eating. Just be advised if they have a few tables seated it will not be quick service. It is a small place and kitchen and everything is made fresh so it may take them a few more minutes but it will be worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Absolutely loved it! The food was so good. I got the chilaquiles and my husband got a torta (breaded chicken) with fries, and as always we got complimentary chips and salsa for the table. My husband enjoyed it very much, as did I. Service was good. This is a smaller place (I think about 8 tables inside). There were people coming in to pick up their meals for take-out. But we were starving when we got here and figured we'd just dine-in which worked out perfectly because I had wanted to go out tonight but I didn't want to have to get all dressed up and fancy. We decided to stick around for dessert too and got tres leches cake which was also very very good! I think there were about 4 other diners inside as well (one of which was a larger party wherein they combined 2 tables), I noticed they had brought their own bottles of sangria and other drinks as well. This is in a really nice location too, right on the Main Street strip. Parking right out front of the restaurant almost seems impossible but if you just make a right at the light (right before the restaurant) and drive to the end of the block there is free public parking (it's a huge lot) and it's only about a 1 minute walk up the block to this restaurant. When we were done we contemplated walking down the block because there is a bakery right there on Main Street as well (Papa Ganache bakery) but we were so full that I couldn't look at anymore food (but I will be back!) read more
