This is our favorite place to eat when we're in the Wetumpka area. Today we were there for lunch & you can tell it's a local hotspot, based on the crowd there. Yet, we were seated immediately & got our food FAST. I got #20 (Taco, Flauta, & Chile Relleno) & my husband got the Taco, beans & rice along with some cheese sticks for an appetizer. Everything was wonderful. And I can't believe I didn't take a picture of my dish. Maybe that's a testament to how zoned in I was when the food came out. Stay away from Anything with steak in it and check your order before your leave to make sure it's right. We have ordered from here 6 times in the past 3 months and had to drive back 4 out of the 6 times. The steak in anything is consistently burned to a crisp... fried beef jerky would be better than when they let come out of the kitchen. They have forgotten our chips and salsa twice. I had to show the employees their own menu to get what it says comes with the steak burritos. Twice in a row I was given steak burritos with no sour cream or tomatoes although the menu says it comes with the dish. The first time I had them remake the steak because it was completely inedible, like trying to chew charcoal. still came out with no tomatoes or sour creme. Why the 2 stars? They have really good soft tacos, taco salads, and chips and salsa when you get it. So that's all I'll order from there now if I ever go back. I wish it was better since it is so convenient to us; however, I'll be making the extra drive for now on. read more

Service was excellent! We came in and were seated immediately, chips and salsa were bought out as well. Our waiter came and took our drink orders, soda came out in huge cups which is great. The waiter kept an eye on us, kept the drinks refilled and had our food out pretty quickly. The food came out hot and it had great flavor. We ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla and a burrito supreme. The quesadilla was filled with melted cheese and the tortilla had a great buttery flavor. My bf enjoyed the burrito so much he was considering ordering a second one. Definitely enjoyed this Mexican restaurant better than the other two in Wetumpka. Will be back here. My wife went pay pay our bill and realized the girl operating the cash register over charged us because she didn't know how to do simple math and take off the 10% military discount. The whole experience at the cash register was embarrassing and humiliating. I've been going to this place since 2015. The owner is the same person that owns San Marcos in Montgomery and Millbrook. Originally when living in Montgomery we ate at San Marcos quite often. The food was good and the staff are great. The same is true for El Rancho Grande. I actually think the food is better here. The staff know us and most can even tell us what we want to order. The salsa is one of the better that I've had in the Montgomery area. So far it's actually the best I've found. The service is great and the food is FAST. The ground taco meat is a tad salty for me but that doesn't effect the rating for me. Nothing stands out in particular about this restaurant and it is pretty good. But, I wouldn't travel out of my way to come eat here. read more

Me and my family just ate this tonight. They were very busy and said there would be a long wait but got us back very quickly into our seats. The Servers were great and we got our food very quickly. Only one complaint would be the wait for the check after waiting over 30 minutes we decided to get up and go to the front and tell them we had not got our check,they handled it quickly and nicely letting us to pay at the front. We live close by and eat here 2-3 times a month. Food is fresh, excellent and fast. Service is great in the restaurant and and we also do pickup. Pico and salsa are fresh and yummy. Chips are light, crunchy and freshly made. For those of you watching your waistline, the Karla salad is amazing - thin grilled chicken over lettuce with Mexican spices, tomatoes, thin sliced red onions & avocado. I've traveled a lot and eaten at a lot of restaurants. This is the worst Mexican food I've had, ever. The service was great, hence the single star rating. The chicken fajitas were very overcooked and tough and served cold on a cold glass plate. Fajitas, everywhere else, are brought out on a sizzling cast iron dish. The salad was also served on a glass plate (ok) but that plate was hot! The salsa was basically tomato sauce with a little spice. My wife asked for green enchilada sauce on her enchiladas and got some kind of awful avacodo/vinegar puree. read more
