Hate giving bad reviews. Waiters have no investment in making a business work. My initial waiter had a mega bad attitude. First he threw my menu on the table and walked off then He took someone's order before me that came in 5 minutes after me. He walked by me several times making eye contact. Thankfully a waiter from the front of the Resturant noticed my menu on the table and came to take my order. Hopefully the rude waiter's day gets better. TACOS CARNE ASADA Were very good! This used to be my family's favorite Mexican restaurant but that has quickly been replaced by Papitos off of Countyline rd. We came here every Sunday after church but not anymore. The food is just plain terrible now. I always got the taco salad with beef or chicken and used to LOVE the shell. Two times in a row I ordered it and the shell was stale and old. The beef was mushy and tasted odd as if out of a can. The waiters seem to have an "I don't care" attitude about them. I don't know what happened over the years. We were patrons since it first opened and I'm telling you the food quality has gone down hill. There was a manager named Fernando who was very nice; we came by so often he knew us by name. So I'm at my beautiful girlfriends birthday party and it took one hour and thirty minutes for us to not be seated together. We were split half and half. This place fricking sucks. They are rude assholes. We asked to be seated all together and they just said no and continued to be rude. They threw the cups of salsa at us. I wasn't ready to order and I told him that but he said you can choose to eat or not your choice and I asked if he could come back to me but then proceeded to just leave. Tried it out for the first time and walked into a very nice environment and setting! waiter not the most personable but can't complain because everything was served and needs were met immediately! I went with a buddy to eat at lunch. The service was well, the chips were fresh, the food was well prepared and the prices were low. What more could a customer as for? The Shrimp and Sausage Quesadilla was delicious and I left with a full stomach. The eating and dining area isn't spectacular, but I would definitely recommend El Rachito to my friends. read more

Just moved to Mississippi and was looking for a new 'go-to' Mexican restaurant. We arrived a little after 6p on a Thursday and the place was packed. However we were seated immediately and had our drink order taken as soon as we sat down. Chips and salsa came out promptly as did our food after ordering. Everything we ordered was great! The service was top-notch, which surprised me considering how busy it was. This may not be important to some, but the waiter was all smiles while serving us, which is a nice change from most places where the waiters act like they'd rather be anywhere but there. I highly recommend this place and we'll definitely be returning. read more

Good restaurant. Went there last night with my friend and sat at the bar. We ordered Pima colada's and the manager was nice enough to tell us there's was expired and he would go buy us more 30 minutes before they closed. Our server, Louis, who works nights, was excellent and let us stay after closing to enjoy our drinks. Excellent service and great food. Thanks for the great night answe enjoyed the game! read more

i come to El Ranchito at least once a week. they are a great family owned Mexican Resteraunt with wonderful salsa and thin crispy chips. their entrées are wonderful too. normally i would give the resteraunt 4/5 stars (-1 star for cleanliness) but tonight i give them 2, although they really deserve only 1. i entered the resteraunt and stood with my family for over 20 minutes. there was a line of families behind me and more steadily coming in. although the resteraunt was busy and seemed relatively full, we were never addressed until we asked a cashier if anyone was going to take our name and seat us. upon being seated, i ordered a P5 (chicken and mexican rice smothered in cheese dip). i ordered an extra side of shrimp to put into the P5, too. my shrimp were completely overcooked and rubbery. in addition, every one of my shrimp had the skin left on them. i choked on the first one and then had to proceed to peel every single one of my cheese-dip-smothered shrimp. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! will not be coming back for some time! read more

The food in every Mexican place in our community pretty much tastes the same to me, but I'll give El Ranchito credit for great service, consistently good food and the place is clean. They're very busy most of the time but they handle it very well. It's a well run business. read more

We ordered a simple takeout of steak fajitas which was a big portion as generally it can serve two adults. It was good as far as the meat and vegetables go. However they only gave three small tortillas with the more than $13 fajitas. And two of the three small tortillas were hard on one edge as they had not been rolled properly. The dinner did come with the beans and rice which were both standard as far as quality. Nothing bad but nothing extraordinary. The salsa and chips given with the take out was however quite generous in size and both very good. We called in the order which was very easy and the order was ready in a very timely manner. However our wait to get the order once inside was long due to people placing a large take out order at the desk instead of calling in. But the hostess at the checkout was very kind and patient with the woman who was having a hard time deciding on her order. Once we finally got to pick up the order to pay, the hostess was apologetic for our wait (tho it was completely out of her control) and extremely nice. read more
