They have a small establishment so it's hit or miss on whether or not there is seating. It's better to call ahead and get your order to go. Their food is divine, and if you're looking for the best salsa in town then look no further. Their salsa is so delicious I think they should market it. read more

Visiting Globe and locals raved about this place having great authentic Mexican food. Such a disappointment! Chips stale, service slow, food very greasy and bland, bleach being used while patrons eating and came through A/C vent causing eyes to burn. Worst meal ever! This place is small but was jammed at 2:00 on Sunday. They greeted us and got us the first available table. We ordered and the food was fabulous. We had burritos, tacos and enchiladas. Great little find in Globe, AZ. They close at 4pm on Suday; we arrived at 3:50pm and they served us! We were thankful because there weren't many other options. The restaurant was cozy and clean, the service was friendly and efficient...Lilibeth, was the best! I had the chicken chimichanga with beans and rice. My husband had the shredded beef taco plate. My friend from Globe was explaining to me the unique history of Mexican food in the region. I got lost in the details. But the chili that we had was unique and very good. It's in a cozy little building, the service is great, they deliver food to your table really quick, and the prices are reasonable. I spend about $8 on chips, a plate, and drink when I come here. Great Salsa, Friendly Servers, Poor Atmosphere, Mediocre Food. Atmosphere/Décor. - Many inexpensive Mexican restaurants skimp on the décor, but often the food makes up for it, sadly this is not the case at Elranchito. The wife's menu had salsa and an empty sugar packet in it. A tub of dirty dishes stood by the register while the waitress stood by it looking bored. The unisex restroom had toilet paper and paper towels on the floor. Worst of all though was a loud mechanical sound every few minutes, which the waitress said was the cook making fresh salsa in the back - must have been a 50 horsepower blender! Not something they should be doing during the lunch hour. Food. - The salsa was very, very good with a nice heat and good dose of cilantro! Our Carne Asada Burritos with red enchilada sauce ($5) were OK, but they had guacamole and Pico de gallo inside them, which we like - but they were both cold making for an unpleasant bite. Had the guac and pico been at room temperature when the burrito was assembled it would have made a big difference! My side order of fried jalapenos ($1) with salt and lime were OK - but they had obviously been cooked some time ago as they were limp and not hot. Service. - Our waitress was very friendly, but management needs to crack the whip to get the wait staff to clean the place up! We won't be back. read more

Stopped for lunch on way to Pinetop. Only one lady working but she was hustling getting phone orders, taking payments and bringing food out to curbside pickup. We stood outside and called. Still in Covid-19 regulations. The order came out fairly quickly. I had a tamale which I could tell was homemade. Moist masa on outside and nicely seasoned beef on inside. Good sized tamale. Was topped with red sauce and side of lettuce and chopped tomatoes. I also had a bean and cheese burro (how they have burritos listed on their menu). It had wonderful flavor, plenty of refried beans and melted cheese inside soft tortilla. My only complaint was the beans were so extremely runny the I couldn't hold it very well. It was flopping over my hands. And trying to eat it was a huge mess and challenging. The beans were swishing out all over with every bite I took and running down my hands and fingers. I know that messy food is the best food but this went far past messy especially when eating in my vehicle. Hence the 4 stars. Taste was spot on, otherwise. Hubby got a chicken and cheese burro. It was much bigger then my burro and had great flavor. I'm sure we will stop back next time we are heading to Pinetop. Hopefully once Covid-19 is over and we can sit inside and eat. read more

OK so I have to admit, I am not a great fan of Mexican food, i don't even know what most of the dishes are. The staff at El Rancheria were very patient and explained the various dishes to the point that I was able to choose the stuffed chilli pepper. Long story short: I am still not a fan of Mexican food! That is me.... Apparently El Rancheria is extremely popular with the locals, and it was certainly busy when I was there. Whatever turns your crank. I won't be back any time soon.
