I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. They don't have mole on the menu, yet. I'm looking forward to their future specials. In this day and age where it's hard to keep a restaurant open, I really hope this one survives. It's not fancy, but the food and service make it worth it. And I'm a picky person when it comes to spending money on food I don't make myself.

Don't be fooled by appearances. The service was great! The food was served hot and was very flavorful and reminiscent of our travels to Mexico. This isn't your typical Tex-mex. It's definitely more authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the chicken green tomatillo enchiladas. The tomatillo sauce was the best I've ever had in my 61 years. It's a 5 star in my book and definitely worth putting this on our regular rotation of restaurants.

For my entrée, I had the skirt steak with beans, pico de gallo, enchilada, and rice. The flavors were solid, but again, the plate came out lukewarm. For a Tex-Mex spot, temperature really matters. I don't need it piping hot, but I do expect my food to feel freshly made and properly heated when it arrives. That was my only disappointment. I've ordered carryout before without issue, and because the service and vibe are strong, I will definitely be back to give it another try. I just hope next time the food comes out hot and fresh. When she said she wanted Norma's or (another place) , I quickly jumped at the opportunity to have Norma's!!! Our meals constlusted of shrimp cocktail, chile relleno plate, and the sampler #2. An incredible amount of good with exceptional pricing! We ate nearly everything which was a whole LOT of food. It was so good, I'm craving breakfast tacos/burritos this morning.
