Came here because I like to try different taco places from time to time. Tacos were good and meat was definitely flavorful. What I enjoyed the most were the big portions of beans and rice they give you! They definitely dont skimp you on those 2 sides. Not too sure the portion they give on to-go orders so dont quote me on that lol. Id have to say it was not cheap at all so dont come looking for $1 tacos. I definitely received good customer service and food was fresh. Side note: The inside is fairly small and every other table they have in there are cut off so they are practicing social distance in there. So if you decide to eat in make sure you dont go when its really busy. read more

Delicious Huaraches of different meats. I tried the pastor with bistec mixed and it was really good. Also the red sauce was spicy good! The Chile Relleno was really good too, it comes with rice and beans and handmade tortillas. The girl that helped us was very nice and helped us with the menu since it was our first visit. MUY DELICIOSO!! Come here for the best carne al pastor and red posole soup in Garland. REALLY! Wow what a great addition to the South Garland authentic Mexican food restaurants. No fake-Mex or fusion cuisine here -- this is real authentic Mexico City style Mexican food prepared only when you order it and served hot to your table. An expansive menu offers meats not found in every other taqueria, like Tinga de Pollo (chicken in chipotle sauce), Chuleta (grilled pork chop), chicharron prensado (red Mexico City pork skin stew), and nopales (prickly pear). Pay attention to a small chalkboard near the menu for the daily or weekend-only special menu items. The food is amazing - made fresh in small batches for maximum freshness and prepared to order. The chef knows how to. Alande be various ingredients so no one item overwhelms the entire dish. Everything is balanced and works together to delight the tastebuds. All the dishes we tried today were delicious! On our visit, red posole soup was on the blackboard :) - I NEVER pass on posole! The posole here is served as a soup, with a generous portion of hominy and chunks of impossibly tender pork that had been simmered for hours in a red chile broth. The delicious chile broth was just spicy enough to make your nose run, but never overwhelmed your palate or burned your mouth. It would be the perfect dish to warm you heart and soul on a cold day. I added a gordita con tinga de pollo to round out the meal, and loved it. The chipotle in the tinga sauce complemented the chicken without overwhelming it, and the lettuce and freshly grilled gordita shell provided a nice crispy crunch and good texture. There was just enough saltiness from the queso fresco and zing from the sour cream to make this gordita one of the best I have had in a long time. My younger daughter had an awesome huarache con carne al pastor (a long thick corn pancake topped with achiote pork, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, queso fresco and cream). Ok, let me digress about carne al pastor. It's an obsession of mine, and I always get it in anew place because it's a litmus test me for. If you can't do al pastor well, I won't be back. But if you do it well, you'll see me ALL THE TIME. The carne al pastor here is AMAZING - the best in Garland. It's a wet stewed (not drier stacked) style, and the impossible tender small pieces of diced pork are infused and saturated in a mild achiote sauce balanced with pineapple. The pineapple was evident in the sauce, and there were little chunks of pineapple mixed in, just the way I like it! My husband had a taco al pastor, chuleta (grilled pork chop) taco, and a quesadilla de nopales (prickly pear). The taco al pastor was sublime, but you already knew that. The pork chop had been cubed, seasoned, and grilled in a flat top, so it was tender and crispy on all sides inside its tortilla. Mmmmmmm! The nopales quesadilla was really good too - a generous serving of fresh (not canned) stewed pear pads that retained a slightly crunchy texture which paired well with the large griddled corn tortilla, asadero cheese and grilled onions inside. My older daughter had the beef fajita quesadilla with mushrooms and white cheese. She is very particular about her Mexican food, and rarely wants to take her leftovers home. Today we had to make a special trip home to take her uneaten half quesadilla home. Having recently opened a couple of months back, this place really seems to have proven itself worthy already. It is located in a shopping strip in a busy major intersection. The place is small but has plenty of seating but you can also place to go orders. They have tacos, tortas, huraches and sopes all native to Mexico City. The taste is pretty authentic too! I ordered pastor, poblano and chuleta (pork) sopes and they are quite big and have plenty of toppings. My son and husband ordered the tortas and they were also quite delicious and had plenty of meat inside, along with avocado, jalapenos and veggies (which you can request they leave out like my son did.) The price is very reasonable and the staff seemed quite friendly. read more

Desafortunadamente ayer no fue la ocasión. Ordene un pozole y quede totalmente decepcionado del pozole. Parece que solo hirvieron unos trozos pequeños de carne de puerco y el chile no tenia ningún sabor, no me ofrecieron tortillas o tostadas, tuve que pedir orégano para darle un poco de sabor pero simplemente fue imposible. Nunca antes había tenido una mala experiencia en este lugar pero ayer simplemente no fue un buen día. La persona atendiendo las mesas muestra una total apatía, obviamente no le agrada su trabajo se esconde detrás del mostrador con su celular y como cliente le tienes que estar llamando si necesitas algo, su atuendo en leggings creo es inapropiado y su cabello no está restringido el cual puede caer en la comida que sirve, como mencione no me ofreció tortillas o tostadas, los condimentos (repollo,cebolla,chiles) fue muy pequeñas porciones. Solo probé el pozole y no lo termine al momento pensé traerlo a casa y pedí que si me lo podía poner para llevar lo cual y sin responder solo me trajo un contenedor de plástico para que yo mismo lo pusiera ahí. It was really good, we stop at these places all the time to try the food. We travel all afound the DFW area and always look for different places to eat, primarily taco shops. This one is very unassuming, small store front, you might miss it. We were greeted by a very freindly host who gave us our menus and we decided on our food. We had a gordita chicaron, a gordita chorizo, and two tacos....a barbacoa and a lingua. It was all very good. If you're in the neighborhood i would suggest stopping by and trying it. read more

Stopped here while working in the area. I had just gotten back from mexico city and was craving more tacos. Take in mind that I had filled my face with tacos in mexico City (the taco capital of the world), so my standards were set pretty high. Walked in and was greeted by a really nice girl, order was made within 10 minutes. The flavor of the meat is very authentic unlike many places in Dallas, Prices are pretty good. First time here and at 1:40 is was empty and staff were all seated in booths. I walk up to front to Read menu and the girl asks me take in or eat out and I remark , "I need more time please ," and literally 5 seconds later she asks me again and I have to repeat myself slower that I need more time. So then I order and she needs help from another girl to enter order and then I orders chicken quesadilla and three different tacos. I ask her which tacos are the best and her response is ,"I don't know." Ughhhhh So another girl was able to tell me. We got them to go and when we got to the house I opened my tacos and they had dumped them all into the same styrofoam container so the meats were all mixed up and had fallen out of the tortillas. They tasted ok but disappointed in presentation. Positive note- 3 stars for carrying Topo Chico!! Worst service ever each time I go in I somehow always get the same waitress and she always has an attitude a friend had tried to call her over politely for another water and she would constantly ignore us and everyone else who was eating there . When she was giving us our food she practically should've just threw it in our faces her attitude is disgusting . Will definitely not recommend eating here read more

Extremely dirty!!!! Food wasn't that good either. We had a couple of orders, the enchiladas my daughter wanted were swimming in a red sauce that had very little taste and so messy she didn't even want it. The fajita Gorditas I ordered were actually ground beef and very soggy to the point I couldn't pick one up without it falling apart all over my plate. I've driven by this place so much and it looks appealing from the outside but now that we've gone in and seen the filth and tasted the food I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!! read more

Taco Mexico is fairly new to the area, so I decided to stop by and see what it was all about. It's a small place but If i know anything of finding small places like this it will go either good or bad. We all know if it was bad I wouldn't be making this review. So I ordered tacos and a sope which were great the tacos have an option of fresh hand made tortillas. Which were really good the sope was really good everything on it blended really well togethere. I had some tripe and the guy that was taking my order asked me how I want it the tripe. Which I love that they ask because I like my tripe really crispy and crunchy so awsome when it's like that. Some people like it abit chewy which I dont like too much. The sope was great fluffy and good combinations of ingradients on top. Also the salsas they offer were really good the green guac that is good and spicy and a red that has a really good flavor. Also which I was most impressed was the green salsa they had. It was like a pesto consistency spicier than both other salsas which was really good and I really enjoyed. So I hope you guys go give it a try and get some good tacos. read more

The waitress was new. Had to ask a lot of question to figure out what to order. I ordered a horracha I think. Looks like a big salad. Asked her if it came with lettuce and tomatoes because I wanted veggies. She said yes. The others ordered tacos. We asked if we could get pico on the she said yes. After serving the food she asked if I wanted avocado but didn't mention it was extra. The tacos are only $1.50 each. We got billl and discovered we were charged $7 extra for the pico and another $5 for 'extra tomatoes'. What should have been a $23 Meal ended up at $40 before taxes. The food was excellent but be wary of the misleading pricing and expensive add ons. read more

The first sign of worry was when the young waitress said she doesn't eat the food and couldn't really help me decide what was good or recommended. I ordered a pastor taco and a beef quesadilla ( was not a quesadilla I've ever seen), but that's ok. All in all, food was ok and pretty tasty. It was a little greasy but not too bad. The biggest issue I have with this place is charging me $1.00 for a tepid glass of tap water with no ice (which I asked for when asked). I think this is just greedy to charge for tap water from the sink. Bottled water... ok, not tap water. A little thing like this just cost them a customer. Hope that $1.00 was worth it! read more
