Lomo Saltado (if you look closely, not enough meat!), Peruvian Fried Rice, Fried Plantain and Chicken .
Rica R.

Lomo Saltado 3/5 - It was tasty but was disappointed on the quality and quantity of the meat. Hardly enough meat and it was a bit chewy. Friend Rice 4/5 Plantain 5/5 Chicken 5/5 Service 3/5 - Has room for improvement. The lady that took our order didn't say hi, smile, didn't say much so ordering the food was awkward somehow. Ambiance of this place and cleanliness 4/5. The place is huge but it lacks of more decor. They have a fridge for drinks but we're empty. Bathroom was 4/5.

The location is very neat. Definitely worth a look. The service was fast and the workers were very helpful. We had the signature chicken with yucca fries and fried rice. The restaurant was clean and fun!

Absolutely amazing food! 1/4 chicken, dark meat 10/10 Great flavor, juicy, tender. Perfect cook. Comes off the bones easily. Peruvian Fried Rice 10/10 Really good flavor. Love the egg, shredded chicken, and scallions. Perfect cook on the rice too. I also added the mild yellow sauce into some of it too. I came back again the next day for more and the rice was not made the same. Similar, but not the same. Fried plantains 10/10 Great caramelizarían on the outsides, so delicious!!

Summary: a "Peruvian" restaurant that doesn't have the sides that make it a Peruvian restaurant..... no yuca, no plantain and no chicha... BUT IT GETS WORSE... if I can give this restaurant a negative, I would.... Took a Togo order around dinner time... my Peruvian wife insisted that we eat at this restaurant since we were here last year and the food was relatively ok....Well, this year... we came in, fans were keeping the place relatively cool... which was ok.. we are in destin after all.... BUT IT GETS WORSE..... we got back to our rental property only to find out that we were 1 whole chicken short.... We called the restaurant, the guy who answered said he can only give us a "discount" for "next time we come back"... AND FOR THE WORSE PART-----the chicken was very undercooked... look at the attached pictures. Needless to say, we won't be back here

1st night in Destin, got here a bit late, this place was next to hotel, food was very good, chicken was very flavorful and moist. All the sides were delicious as well. Service was friendly and efficient. We recommend and would go back.

I got a drink but I really didn't wanted to drink it because the machine was awfully dirty.
Maday M.

The place seems ok but if you look closely you probably would not want to come back, the food is good but it does not deserve 4.5 stars, because it makes me wonder how clean is the kitchen.

Food- good. Service was SLOOOOOWWWW! 34 MIN. FROM ORDER TO TABLE. cannot figure out why- it's Rotisserie chicken. I ordered 1/4 chicken. Rice and yucca. Hubby ordered rl pollon, a 1/5 # burger with chicken. Was good but still. 34 min! Not busy. Ambiance is fast food vibe.

The Mac and cheese is some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. The rice and beans are delicious along with the plantains. The Cole slaw is also the best Cole slaw in the area. This visit, the moment I walked to the counter I was greeted with a smile, and I remember her from my first visit. I ordered the 1/2 chicken because it was only $3 more than a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. You get both white and dark meat and I order fried Yucca and black beans & rice. The chicken has so much flavor from the charcoal. The Yucca was perfectly fried fresh, and the black beans and rice were satisfying. It is a little pricey about $27 with fountain drink and a 15% tip (in my opinion they should not ask with their point of sale system when it is not a full service restaurant). This is the reason why they got a 3 star instead of 4 stars. This reminds me of Peruvian style rotisserie chicken that I use to eat when I lived in Washington DC area. Here, they are branded as Latin American Charcoal Chicken. This not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and pick up at the order at the other end. They have a small but adequate dining room. I wonder how they are during a lunch and dinner rush. I will soon see.

I had Ñoquis Gratinados with steak. it was good, the steak was okay, but would have preferred all the cuts of meat be the same size, and bite sized. Spouse had the Churrasco a lo Pobre, a taco, and a tamale. The taco was good. The tamale, although large in size did not have much pork in it. The meat on the churrasco a lo pobre plate was really tough, unless you really like to chew, and chew, and chew, think twice about ordering the churrasco a lo pobre plate. If you do order it, bring your dental floss. Although we spoke to the waiter about the tough meat, and the waiter admitted he tried cutting the meat and it was tough. After that, there was no attempt to replace the meat with a more tender piece nor was my spouse asked if he wanted to try a different dish. When paying for the meal, there was no discount offered for the tough meat on the plate. The eggs on the plate were also kind of over cooked and brown and crispy around the edges. Customer service is lacking. Unfortunately for the restaurant, we will not be patrons.

That was the worst, the guy looks like he doesn't want to be there, he is a grump when you talk to him, and almost like you are bothering him when you come up to the window. She scanned the code and the two items she wanted, the Jumping Lomo tacos and an order of the pork belly were not available on the scan of the QR code. When she was finally able to get the attention of the young man working today (he was on his phone and paying no attention to the window), she said she couldn't find the items through the code. He responded, "what do you want?" She asked for the pork belly and had already opted for the Jumping Lomo via the QR code order and was reluctant to ask for it to be changed to the tacos due to his brusqueness. The food left a lot to be desired. The pork belly was flaccid, no satisfying crispy crunch at all. At $8.99 it was a very small order compared to what we can get at any Mexican or Chinese restaurant back home and a waste of dollars since it ended up in the trash eventually. The Jumping Lomo was okay. Rice was good and with the sauce was pretty yummy. But the chicken was fairly bland and had no seasoning and the pickled onions were over vinegary. Such a shame... It held such promise but didn't deliver.

After roaming into a number of fun shops, we realized we were feeling up to a snack and drinks, and we happened across LaCo. The service and the food and drinks were good, and there was a nice ambiance to the place, too. The four of us immediately were seated at a bar during happy hour in the early afternoon when there were only a few people there. In fact, other than two people just leaving when we arrived, we were the only ones at the bar until just before we left. We arrived on a weekday afternoon just as happy hour was starting. Happy Hour prices included $2 off select wines and their house margarita, $1 off bottled beer, and discounted priced appetizers. My wife and I shared an order of Salsa Roja which included charred tomato salsa served with house friend chips. One of our friends ordered some blackened chicken wings, and both of our friends ordered drinks. Everyone was happy with what we ordered. LaCo stands for Latin Coastal as it is considered "30A's Latin coastal kitchen" with Latin-inspired lunch and dinner dishes with a coastal twist. The restaurant is located between Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach in Seacrest Beach. They operate on "beach time" and do not take reservations. Their published hours are daily from 11 AM to 9 PM with limited yet special priced happy hour menu from 3-5 PM and a full menu during the other times of the day. You can see their menu, photos, and more information about their restaurant as well as order online and sign up for news and updates at https://laco30a.com. While we do not head to 30A that often, if we head back to Seacrest Beach, we'll certainly consider another visit to LaCo, perhaps when the full menu is available. We recommend this restaurant to others wanting a unique taste and a filling snack or meal!
