Hidden gem! It's literally hidden behind the gas station and I didn't know about this place until I saw it on Google map- I should have known! This is a small place but there is seating inside. I just stopped by to take tacos to go. They had many options for tacos. When I go to a restaurant for the first time, I usually sample a few different kinds. I ordered pastor, cecina and asada. The wait time was less than 10 minutes. Out of the three, the asada was by far the BEST. it was so tender, juicy and just delicious! My least favorite was cecina. It was hard. They put plenty of onion and cilantro- just the way I like! Prices were very reasonable too. Five stars, I am sure I'll be a regular here. read more

My new favorite place in Indy! I moved here from Southern California 3 years ago and have been missing a restaurant like this. Everything we have ordered has been great. Every time we go we have to get a half chicken and carnitas tacos but we are going to try something new every time. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful! We ordered the pollo entero con todo, which is the while grilled chicken with everything. It's served with rice and beans, salsa, lettuce, tortillas, onions, and grilled peppers. We added chips and salsa and extra cebollitas (grilled onions). For $18.95 it's a ton of food and great for several people to share! It has everything you need to make little tacos, or just demolish the chargrilled chicken as is because it's delicious! Really authentic food, cheap, and a great experience, we'll definitely be ordering from them again! Red sauce is slightly spicy, green sauce has a tiny kick, and the peppers are HOTTTT so be aware. The tortillas are fresh and hold up well, and the grilled onions are addicting. My only "disappointment" which isn't really a disappointment because I love all grilled onions, but I was hoping the cebollitas were grilled green onions because those are my fave and I haven't found any in Indianapolis yet (send me recs if you know any places). read more

Best grilled chicken so far on the West Side of Indy ! Most definitely will try again and again!

On my quest to find the perfect taco, we stumbled onto this little authentic Mexican restaurant on the west side just north of 38th Street. Located in an aging strip mall, it did not look like much from the outside. We were the only gringos today inside the packed little dining room with 10 tables. The signs describing the specials were in Spanish. I saw the clerks shuffle around are we approached the counter and we were greeted by a sweet young English speaking server. I ordered 2 tacos and a side of chips and salsa. The tacos were only $2 each! This is the best price so far on my perfect taco search. My husband ordered a burrito for $4.99. We sat and waited as our food was prepared. There were refrigerated cases that held fantastic looking flans and other deserts ($3 a serving) I was tempted but held off for next visit. The chicken tacos came out quickly in a small basket. They had double corn shells and were loaded with chicken, cilantro and onions with a lime wedge on the side, just like I like. She brought out a mild verde sauce that had a slight kick and a hotter red sauce. I went with the green. The tacos were good and the tortillas particularly tasty. The burrito was authentic and good. We ordered 2 more tacos to take home to our daughter. They have a dinner menu that looked good. I did not see signs of alcohol but they carried a variety of Mexican sodas. I will return to try the flan. read more

I eat here about once a week. My partner and I can't get enough of these amazing tacos. So simple with just onions and cilantro but also just so amazing. I also enjoy most everything else. I ordered tacos for delivery, so I haven't been to the restaurant yet. I ordered 3 chicken tacos, and they were delicious! They were loaded full of chicken, onions and cilantro on soft corn tortillas. I loved the salsa verde that came with the tacos. Overall very authentic and great! I love their blackened "al carbon" chicken. You can get a 1/2 chicken with beans and rice, with corn flour tortillas, grilled onions, and a big habanero pepper for $8.18 (plus tax). Also includes chips and salsa. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Other items on the menu seemed pretty standard, but I don't remember anything that stood out, other than they serve breakfast. Though the sign in the front window says they are open 9am to 9pm, (9:30am to 9pm on Mondays). Canned soft drinks are $1.00 ea, so no free refills. Mexican bottled sodas are $1.50. I probably should have asked for a free glass of ice water too, as one can of soda was not quite enough to wash everything down. Men's room was noticeably cleaner than average for Mexican restaurants. There was tp, hand-soap, and a dispenser of paper-towels. Ambience is okay,... good for a strip-mall. Clean dining area too. Two TV's were tuned to a Spanish language channel. The waitress speaks English well. I was there for an early dinner, and there were only 3 other customers. read more

I've been a really consistent patron for the past five years but my experience via Uber eats today was atrocious. The skimped on the meat and the photos for taco option 1 show two tacos so I ordered 2, meaning I should get 4 tacos. I received 2. I got a refund from Uber eats and then ordered again. Same thing happened. The food quality is not keeping up with the price. My carnitas arrived undercooked. Crisis or not-business is business and all menu items should include quantity explicitly not implicitly. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

One of my favorite spots was closed for Memorial Day. So I went to another place called El Pollo Tapatio. The food is very bland and pricy for what they offer. I ordered taco Asada and rice. Which I feel was overpriced for the taste. Not even mediocre but way below that. I was lied to by the lady who took my order. I checked my to go order and didn't see any salsa for my tacos. So I asked for salsa verse for my tacos. The lady told me it was in the bag. After getting home. Not only was there no salsa verse to be found. No limes. I decided to call the place. Spoke with the lady who took my order. I told her about not having any lime or salsa, she told me on the phone they were out. I asked her why didn't she say that instead of lie about it? Anyways..the place is awful for Mexican food period unless you like bland thrown together food. I've lived all over and this place is proof that not every Mexican family should open up a Mexican restaurant. I had some better food on a food truck. Customers be aware. If they are going to charge you over 2 buck per taco make sure it's worth your money and your time. read more

I love this place and go here often to satisfy cravings for authentic Mexican tacos. Having lived in California for several years, I fell in love with Asada Tacos on soft, fresh, corn tortillas. The best part for me is the housemade sauces....yummmm! Even my 12-year old daughter requests these. The staff is fast and courteous and the tacos are always fully loaded. read more

I've been to this place 5 times. It's been awesome every time. Their specialty is pollo el carbon (chicken grilled over charcoal). DELICIOUS but come early because they run out. On weekends they have pozole which is a pork and hominy stew, it's really good. Free chips and salsa with dine in. Be sure to ask for the habanero salsa they don't automatically bring it out.
