I really like El Pollo Loco as a go-to option when I'm on the road or don't feel like cooking. It feels like a healthier fast-food choice, and I usually have a great experience here. The chicken is hot, the sides are fresh, and everything tastes solid. The girl at the counter was really nice, friendly, and professional. There was also a coupon available, which was a nice bonus. I ordered a full chicken specifically because I wanted two chicken breasts. When I got home, I noticed there was only one breast and three thighs instead. It's not a huge deal, and I'll still come back, but when you order a full chicken, especially at that price, it's nice to get exactly what you asked for. Overall, they do a good job, and this is still one of my preferred spots when I want something quick, warm, and reliable. read more

Being away from home, and already having our fried food for the day, we needed something quick and easy to eat that was on the healthier side. El Pollo Loco to the rescue' We got a pollo bowl which was filled to the brim with fresh and hot ingredients. We also got a kids drumstick meal with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. They gave us 3 drumsticks which were hot. The mashed potatoes and gravy was cold which was a bit of a surprise. But it was still fine. All in all it was just what we needed that evening read more

This may sound crazy, but ever since we moved to Georgetown, Texas, 6 years ago, we have been craving "El Pollo Loco", chicken. They don't have anything that comes close to the "crazy chicken". SMH!!!‍ So every time we're traveling and get hungry, this is a must have choice. We always seem to dig up some coupons and they are gladly accepted. Some EPL's have went to the kiosk style order system like McDonalds. This is a busy location, yet they still take the time to ensure your order is correct and you are pleased with your dinning choice. We just love the taste of flame broiled chicken. We grab a side salad and throw in some corn and wow, you have an excellent meal. Please, Please, Please, El Pollo Loco, come to Georgetown Texas and build some stores there. Sometimes things don't get better. Dont know why, but the food isn't as good as it was 4 yrs ago, even less good a few years later, then, so meh it wasn't worth coming anymore. Decided (I was next door) to give 1 last shot. The food was 3 stars. They made a couple real missteps over the last 5 years that have left me not coming here more than once every 3 months. Too bad, I used to love your healthy menu items (cauliflower rice I'm talking about you!) & the quality just isn't the same on their staple - chicken. Sorry, I'll be looking for a new place to enjoy healthy Mexican food. read more

I stopped off on a Friday evening and noticed the fire roasted chicken aromas in the air. The chicken was fresh and cooked to perfection as were the pinto beans and rice sides. We were looking for a quick bite before attending a rock and gem show. El Pollo Loco caught my eye so we made a stop. I ordered the Classic chicken burrito. We've driven by this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try. The app wasn't working for us, so we ended up having to go inside to order and figure out the menu. I almost deducted a star for the app experience, but that wasn't on this location, so I decided not to. Once we were inside, the manager was really kind in ensuring the app offer worked and our order was correct. We both got pollo bowls with modifications and the bowls came out hot, well seasoned and correct. The amount of food is less than say a chipotle bowl, but I preferred that as it was more than enough without being overwhelming. The pico was fresh and flavorful and the chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The food came out quickly and the restaurant was clean. The value for the bowls was also good, $5 without modifications or about $7 with chips and a drink. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area for a quick bite! read more

Can't believe I've lived in Tucson for 13 years and never been here. I was nearby having my windshield replaced and grabbed lunch while I waited. Nice menu with lots of healthy choices. I opted for the 3 pc chicken (dark meat). It was ready super-quick, under 1 minute! Absolutely delicious! The flavor was good, chicken was just a little dry for dark meat, skin reasonably crispy (not as crispy as KFC), the salad was nice and the beans were exceptional with a little kick to them. I will definitely be back. Great place for a quick, reasonable, healthy lunch. Not a big fan of the background music, but n accounting for taste!! read more

I've grown up on El Pollo Loco and it is a foundation of my life. I really wish that they would create a national chain of restaurants and please don't make the mistake again of thinking the place to start a national campaign is in Florida! Just continue to grow East at a steady pace. But in regards to the food, there is nothing like it! The chicken is juicy, flavorful and tender. The skin is absolutely my favorite part. But, the thing that really set EPL apart from others is the side dishes and condiments. The pinto beans are always flavorful, The Cole slaw perfection. The rice is exactly perfect every time. And the pico is fresh and well balanced. After having spent the past three years on the East Coast and Florida, I've tried every kind of competitor and none of them even come close. And as I assembled me hand made burritos with grilled chicken, pinto beans. Cole slaw and pico de gallo a ritual I've been doing for nearly 40 years now, even with all the buildup in my mind, every bite delivered that familiar pop of flavors that I crave anytime I'm away from the west coast! Please don't scare up this business model. There is nothing like your food and the world would be a much sadder place if EPL were to go under. I know that sometimes we forget the positive impact we have on others. But, your food is fresh, is fabulous, it triggers nothing but happy m memories and your friendly staff brings it all home for each of us that loves your food! Thank you for all you do! read more

I feel it necessary to re visit my review of this restaurant. Previously I rated El Pollo Loco 5 stars. I stopped in for a quick bite to eat after the gym around 7 pm. Not really late but and still early enough that they should have been paying closer attention to detail. Still the same slow response to getting the food out, which is ok since the food up until this evening had been exceptional. I ordered the usual 2 avacado burritos, and added a deluxe chicken soup. Half way through the first burrito I had to spit the food out 5 times due to chicken bones. This is a very serious problem as a digested bone can cause serious health problems. Due to this I never picked up my second burrito. I switched to the deluxe chicken soup, which at first was very tastey with large chunks of chicken, canbage and other veggies. Half way through a "large" bowl I bit into a large chunk of boils fatty skin. This is another complete turn off. It will be a long while before I go back, I will monitor the reviews and see what others have to say before I dexide if they are worth another shot. But just the bones alone are enough memory to keep me away. Dayne read more

When you think of Mexican and fast food this totally change my perspective. Fresh marinated chicken with various reasonable sides and salsa bar. I said sure, who should I asked for.. again with a lot of resistance and after asking for her name 6 times.. she finally said Karla, now I wonder if this is her true name.. We used to come here often, but the food has simply become too inconsistent for us to want to return. This location is being run into the ground. This review was for today's visit at 11:00 AM on a Monday. You'd figure that lunch is about to start so the food should be pretty good and fresh, right? Not so. The chicken was burnt and shriveled. This happens more often than not. This is unacceptable and if you keep treating your patrons this way, they won't return. I hope the owner sees this because if you don't get your business in order, the Chik Fil A that opened up half a block away is literally going to eat your lunch. REALLY disappointed. Last time was worth one star. I was going to give it two stars this time, until I realized as I was writing this review, there is not a reason for two. Our order was two-2 piece combos, one white, one dark. Mine was dark. The pieces are an absolute joke, yes, picture included. Thigh, especially, was so dry, it does not count as a full piece. Beans and rice, neither had any flavor, rice dried out. NOT at all worth what we paid. We were asked if we wanted plastic ware, yes, we wanted it, but did not get that or napkins. Good thing we took it home. Also ordered churros. Had I not asked where they were, I would not have gotten them. Employees that pay attention would be great, from overcooked and dried out chicken (it's literally in the name), to bland, dried out sides, to giving the customer what they ordered AND paid for. Won't be back this time. Sadly, I forced my son to come here when he did not want to. His was "just okay". read more

**update (5/26/2020)** I just recieved a call from Maria Ruiz, who said she was the district manager for the area. She was wonderfully polite and apologetic for the service provided by their employee. She even went above and beyond and offered to replace our entire meal next time we were back in town. Her customer servixe skills were excellent and she was able to save a customer with just her kind words and helpful additude. The offer to replace our entire order was just the icing on the cake. Thank you Ms. Ruiz. Your organization is very lucky to have a stellar employee like you. (5/24/2020) Im passing through Tucson today from California ordered through the el pollo loco app for delivery. As I said I am from out of town and was staying in a local hotel today May 24th 2020. At approximately 7:00 this evening I ordered a 12 piece meal with three sides avacado salsa, plates and utensils as well as a large loco salad with extra cilantro lime dressing. Upon reciving my order I had no plates, no salsa of any sort and a completely dry bowl of lettuce with no dressing on the side or on the salad. I called the store and a female answered who said she apologized and would make a note on my "account". I told her Im from out of state passing through so that wouldn't work. She than said let me put you on hold and check with my manager. After 7 min on hold we got disconnected. I attempted to call back 55 times in 17 min to nothing but a busy signal. When i did get back through the same woman answered the phone and when i told her my problem and told her i had previously called she stated that she had attempted to call me back and didnt know why we had been disconnected. I found this amazing because at no point did she get my name or my phone number or even my order. That being said she said they were to busy to send someone to correct my order but i was free to come pick up what I was missing myself. Again I explained to her im from out of town and the reason I ordered delivery is because I had no way to get to the store myself. She than continued to tell me well you could have someone come get it for you and I told her thats what I already paid for was for someone to deliver it to me. I asked her if there was a way to at least get a partial refund for my order since my salad was just a bowl of lettuce had no salsa and I had no way to eat any of it without plates or utensils being i was in a hotel. She than asked how I had ordered. I told her through the El Pollo Loco app. She proceeded to tell me well they were to busy to send anyone out to correct my order and there was no manager available to speak with to refund me any part. The only thing she could recommend was messaging through the app and hope someone got back to me. Never have I been treated with such rude customer service and just blatantly disrespected and disregard. To have someone tell me basically come get it yourself or we cant help you is just rude and not a way to keep a customer. I gope someone in a higher up part of your organization will have the decency to call me and at least acknowledge my concerns and make an attempt to make this unfortunate incident with a bad customer service representative right or I will no longer be ordering from your restaurants regardless of state and will ensure everyone I know hears this story as well as sharing it on this locations yelp page as well as the store near my home google and any other platform where I can provide such a review. This is a copy and paste of the email i messaged corporate through the app where i provided them my phone number. read more

I ordered 3 piece chicken meal, but I got only 2 pieces of chicken. I should have checked in the store, but I didn't expect that, so I took it home and found out that I got only 2 pieces of chicken. I paid for 3 piece chicken, but I got only 2 pieces and the chicken was really dry and no taste! I tried to call the store, but their number didn't work. This review is for this location only. I use to go to El Pollo Loco about 4 times a week. I moved to Marana and this is the closet location. Rude employees and 2 very bad experiences. They also make their own rules about what they can and can't do. For example, I always order a certain burrito and make it a combo and sub the chips for a salad. It's a dollar more but that is understandable. Now all of a sudden at this location only "they can't do that". It's fine, I won't be back and have actually found some better alternatives near by. I also notice it always seems very slow in there... guess I know why. read more

El Pollo Loco prepares and cooks all of their chicken, salsa and vegetables fresh daily. Since the base of most of the dishes is chicken, you can't go wrong. They have niceties like fresh sliced limes, avocado available as an add on if it's not included with your dish and a fresh salsa bar. The service is good. The premises are clean. The cashiers take and check orders and the manager is right in there pitching in. There's also a $5 menu which includes a drink with the meal. It's a good place to have a quick and tasty meal that's prepared with fresh ingredients. read more

In a sea of endless options for Mexican fast food, there's El Pollo Loco--which specializes in chicken. What do I love most about about this place? They have posole verde! If you've lived in Arizona all your life like I have, you're probably wondering why it isn't red chile-based, why it has chicken instead of pork, and if it is as miserable as a fail as Rachael Ray's sad excuse for posole. Yes there is a green one, it's very rare, very delicious and has chicken. Outside of here, I've only had it at one other place in the Tucson area. El Pollo Loco's is delicious, though very inconsistent; this is why I only awarded three stars. The first time I got it, there was so much hominy and chicken, it was awesome. The last time? It was mostly broth with a small handful of hominy, and maybe 10 small pieces of chicken, and it needed salt, lime juice, and green salsa to bring the flavor up. I suggest this place works on consistency. Also, this place has Mexican hot chocolate, which I love. Service can be spotty. I've always received the correct order, but the staff can be aloof and disoriented, and they can take quite a while on orders on occasion. Overall, this is a solid lunch place for when you want something quick, Mexican, and chicken-focused. read more

Purchased my order. Waiting in line for my order, I noticed an elderly woman approach the counter. Her husband had ordered for her. She explained, but he ordered the wrong items. She ordered three of avocado tacos, but he ordered three different types of tacos for her. She just wanted to know if she could get the right order for her herself. She was under the assumption that her husband had placed the order for the right items. The gentleman behind the counter after for the tacos that she had purchased, and she gave them to him. He insisted that her husband had ordered the wrong item for her, but that they would make the right order for her. She stood their content waiting for her order for about 10 minutes, when the manager came up to her and told her she was going to have to pay the difference for the tacos. Now I'm not saying on a normal basis. This would not bother me, but this is obviously an elderly couple, who have a hard time hearing and speaking. That the manager would take Mercy and go ahead and just give her the tacos. What's $3? After all? The manager was quite rude to the woman and I had had enough and walked up and said I'll pay for the difference for the stranger because we do not treat our elderly this way. Bottom line. I probably will not be shopping at this place ever again, considering how they're treating their customers. But I'm just a drop in the bucket and I know it won't make a difference. But I hope this Yelp review will. read more

Aaallllmost feels like I'm not eating fast food. Almost. Feels a bit healthier than KFC and actually tastier. Fed my family today after they helped me out with a major job at home and we picked up a Spicy Chipotle burrito for the son-in-law, a cheese quesadilla and guac for the littles to share and L & I split a 3 piece combo (2 breasts, a wing and two sides) which was more than enough for us. T devoured his burro and the kids loved their quesadilla but then again, what's not to love about a quesadilla. L & I chose the corn and pinto beans as our sides. Both were really good and the corn is lightly spiced. The littles split an order of churros and they were actually quite good (snuck a bite). My favorite, quick item to get at El Pollo Loco is on the value menu - chicken tacos al carbon. Little tacos with delicious grilled chicken and super cheap! read more

I usually love El Pollo Loco but my experience after dealing with the "Friday Night" crew prompted me to write this review. I will start by saying the food is excellent, but customer service was NOT good. I ordered a meal for my son because it had all his faves, including avocado! When we received the order and I started feeding him, I realized there weren't any avos so I went to the front to tell them. A man working in the kitchen area said "Where did the avocados I already put on here go?" Basically accusing me of lying for a couple extra slices of avocado. He said it to another employee who smirked about the avocado conspiracy theory I was obviously trying to pull over on them. So odd and really unnecessary, since THERE WERE NEVER AVOCADOS ON IT TO BEGIN WITH. Bottomline: If you're an avocado stealer, don't come here! read more
