Dang Pollo Loco .. why you gotta do me like that ? The salad skimpy . It's a double chicken and avocado salad but hardly either of both. The pollo was soooo salty and dry as heck it increased my blood pressure. Service was amazing. I had to eat something before hitting the gym and I usually enjoy their salad but soooo disappointed. I usually go to the Pollo Loco on Vineyard after my workout at Golds gym. Today I was very unhappy with my salad. I usually get the double chicken salad without the tostada. I ordered and when I drove up my salad was ready. Tells me it was pre made. I got home and the chicken was very dry, probably used old chicken from day before. I couldn't even eat it. I had order through door dash.. three piece combo with rice, side salad and chips and salsa with a regular drink. When my order arrived I had a just a two piece. Chicken was burnt, even the replacement chicken was burnt. Tortilla chips burnt with no salsa and no salad dressing. I called and asked if I could just get the order I order and manager Jose said yes that's fine. So now I'm inconvenienced and had to drive and wait in the drive thru because the inside dining room is closed(hints why I ordered through door dash). When I get to the window I repeated the order and gave my receipt. The workers at the window says oh we're only replacing the chicken.. Okay cool I'm not going to argue. I asked for dressing and salsa. I'm handed a small cup with a spoonful of dressing. Not even enough to cover the little bit of salad I had gotten. This is ridiculous. I get it's COVID and people are overwhelmed but come up your customers are overwhelmed and spending their money. At least get the orders right or serve food that can't be enjoyed.. I come here often and I've overlooked a couple of things from being short changed to missing items on my order but when it says opens at 10 am and I roll up 10 min pass cone up to intercom and am greeted when am ready and 3 seconds after am placing my order and nothing,not I'll be right with you,nothing . My patience is no more after thinking 3 times and saying hello I'm ready like a broken record and saying that I'm going to want a discount for gas wasted NOTHING!! finally I roll up to window and a girl finally shows her face saying we will open in 10 min we running behind,I asked why couldn't she let me know that when I'm over at intercome she said no one has headsets on.I told her they did when I rolled up and greeted me she said that was AI,wtf!! I say that if they don't let AI that they are running late,then maybe someone should have headphones and let customers know at least some courtesy will be appreciated. March 13, 2022. These are people waiting at the el pollo loco at 11:22am because the mgr. has not opened the store. I finally got to place my order in the drive thru. I asked to speak to the mgr. but I was told mgr. was busy making salsa. No wonder the store is closed since the mgr. is doing prep instead of being a mgr. I finally got my food and they forgot one of my sides. As I sat there I saw multiple people come to the door and walk away because sitting area was still closed. When I get to the window to pay, the lady did not speak one word of English I don't and I don't speak Spanish . This is the only El Pollo Loco that I go to when I'm craving grilled chicken. I usually only come when I get some coupons in the mail, making the family deals worth the money. The layout of their store is very crammed and the parking lot is not well lit at night. Getting in an out of the restaurant parking is hard too because the drive thru ends right where the entrance to the street is so people finishing their orders have to take turns exiting with anyone else in the parking lot trying to do the same. I ordered in advance on El Pollo Loco app so I don't have to wait.... When I arrived on time there was just one person ahead of me and the place was empty. I still had to wait about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. While I was pouring for my drink, cashier wrapped everything in the bag very tight. I didn't get to see him put in the sauces, so I asked for them but he just stared at me for little bit then said sauces are all inside. It was all good, just very slow reaction lol. It's been about 20 years since my last El Pollo Loco.... I gave 4 stars because my palate recognized the flavors. They were very consistent with what I had about 20 years ago. Bad experience overall! My father who is a senior citizen went to buy dinner, first they wouldn't take his card because it has a chip. Note, I have paid numerous times with a chip card and there hasn't been any issues. Second, he asked for salsa and they said they didn't have any. It's 5 o'clock in the afternoon, how can you be out of salsas already? I would understand if it was close to closing time. Third, he asked for plates and they gave him some that looked like had been taken out of the trash, dirty all over.
