I used El Pollo Loco catering for the first time but it won't be the last! I cannot believe how great this was. I got the Build Your Own Bowls and everything about the food was great. We received giant containers of chicken, rice and beans along with loads of lettuce, cheese, corn, sour cream, chips, guacamole, tortillas, and a vast assortment of salsas. And churros! It was supposed to be for 10 people but I think it could easily have fed 15. But I'm not complaining! It made our family gathering so easy-just picked it up and lunch was served. They offer delivery too, of course. I will mention my order was not ready when I got there and I was a bit disappointed. But the cashier offered me a free drink so that softened the blow. This is the FIFTH straight 1-star review. How is that possible? Time for some soul searching by management/ownership. In my case, I came in specifically to try their new chicken fingers, which ended up small, dry , over cooked, and stale tasting.....at an outrageous cost of 2 for $5.99. I also bought one of their usually reliable basic chicken bowls which in the past have always featured chicken BREAST.....but this time it was 50/50 between white and my hated dark meat. Why? Is the cook not aware of what the procedure is......OR, did the franchisee decide to change the bowl contents? Also, they ran out of their usual pile of hard copy specials flyers. Who can afford EPL or Popeye's at non-discounted prices? Word is spreading about this location, so hopefully someone will step in to stop the bleeding. I don't want to say anything bad about the service, because they were actually quick; the downside of that speed, however, is that things get forgotten. My meal was supposed to come with chips and salsa, I ordered two meals but when I got them, I only received chips and no salsa! " Loaded Chicken Salads " I went to the El Pollo Loco in Beaumont, CA to order early to go dinners and was very surprised with the salads I ordered. I met Blanca at the front counter and ordered a Classic Tostada Salad and a Double Chicken Avocado Salad, to go. Blanca was very nice and answered all of my questions before I ordered my salads. When I got home and took the salads out of the to-go bags, I was blown away by how Big the portions were, and how they looked. Before I left the El Pollo Loco I was able to get several different salad sauces for us to use when I got home. They were all very good ! Did they hire teenagers to work here? Ghetto workers(the girls specifically). Rude and impatient when taking your order. They ignore customers who come in to get their orders. The manager needs to take a serious look at the cameras to see how they play and slap your feed around. So many people would love to replace them. It's almost like an auntie hired all her bad nieces to work for her and they don't know professionalism at all . Over priced for the position they give you. This is the second time I've ordered the crunchy chicken tacos and received chicken that was inedible. Dried out and tough-- like jerky. The shells are crispy and the lettuce is fresh and crunchy, and the salsa is delicious as always. But again the chicken is horrible! Both times I purchased at night. I received burnt chicken for my online order. It has been a terrible experience from the time I arrived. Main entrance indicates the door does not work, instructed to use the side door. The door was then locked 45 minutes prior to closure. The employees inside did not make any effort towards making any contact or indicating alternate pickup options. OK this time my experience wasn't so great. I came to the drive-through and did not have my wallet so all I had was cash. So my total came to about $15. I gave the cashier at the window $100 bill and she told me that she could not complete my order because you guys just had a shift change and a drop which left them with no change to break $100 bill. I think that is unacceptable not only that I feel like my time in my gas was wasted so was the food that was prepared that I had the money for, but you didn't have a change for. The girl at the register said that that is corporate policy and when I called corporate and they were baffled. Did not feel like customer service was a type priority because you should always be able to accommodate your customers and throwing away food, which your employees probably eat is also unacceptable because you could not provide a service not because I couldn't pay.
